it's one of the reasons (besides TES: Oblivion) why I'll need a new PC this year...  ;)

From the screenshots I saw on Voodooextreme (stolen from IGN), it looked like Rome with new skins and a few new siege units.  Granted, the cities look much more intricate...

But take a look at the close-up of the knight on the horse about to strike someone with his sword - that's a reused model from Rome.  I hope they do a bit more than just re-skin Rome and import the historical events from the first Medieval TW.

Who am I kidding...it's Creative Assembly plus Sega - of course it'll rule :)

Btw - I think the idea of a Romance of the 3 Kingdoms: Total War would be INCREDIBLE!  I *love* that time period and have played most of the Rot3K games...plus, Destiny of an emperor and several Dynasty Warriors games - I can't get enough of that phase of history and its colorful characters.  KOEI is single-handedly responsible for extending the life-cycle of my NES by several years.

It seems to me like when you've played one TW game, you've played them all. Feel free to argue this, I've only played Rome.

Sure, they change the map around and change the factions and their units, but it seems like it would be essentially the same game. Unless you're really interested in the time period it's about, I don't see how you could want this game if you've already got Rome, no offence.

Though it does look nice considering different equipment, coat-of-arms, and horse mantles (or whatever). And this has way better graphics than R:tw and remember it's still got about a year to go before it's done.

That could be, because i think the difference between Rome and Mediaval isn't that big

I played a good  bit of Shogun back when it came out...until I figured out how to 'break' the game (line gunpowder units up on top of a hill, and watch enemy units slowly march up, get slaughtered, fall back, return, get slaughtered some more, etc...).  I barely touched Medieval - but that's in large part due to a flood of good games at the time.  I've LOVED Rome and its expansion (the Barbarian factions are pretty nice, and very unbalanced - which I like).

I do look forward to Medieval 2, despite my earlier fears.

wouldnt that just be an expansion for shogun?

Shogun was set in Japan, not China.  Completely different cultures.
I know that, but they are geographically and historically adjacent. Theyve invaded each others countries a fair few times in history.

Same with Medieval/Rome.  :P
Rome and medieval are geographically adjacent but not Histrorically adjacent. Medieval takes place several centuries after Rome

Just as the Tang period takes place several centuries after the Han.

I said this in another thread, is anyone else suprised by this? I liked Medieval the least out of the three, I would have much prefered a Shogun 2 or even a Rome 2.

Shogun 2? Yes
Rome 2? Definitely not, I have had enough of those bloody Romans the past year(s)  ;)
As I stated before I didn't liked Medieval that much either. But now it has a second chance
