The Dig: Three classic LucasArts adventure games in a row? Yep. What really did it for me was the top-notch dialog by Orson Scott Card.

Wait...
Orson Scott Card?  Of Ender's Game?  I'll have to look into this one.  Thanks for the inadvertent heads up

He also did the insults for the Secret of Monkey Island....and he did Advent Rising, though that didn't rate so well on average.  Some love it, some think it's pretty blah.

Yep, Orson Scott Card wrote all of the dialogue in that game. Did a fabulous job, IMNSHO, as well. Supossedly he didn't have much freedom with it, but it ended up great. (Despite the ending...)

Some spaceship game for some old computer we had: First game I got really addicted to.
Under the Root for my brother's old computer from college, probably an Apple II: It was a bizarre game with a strange name.
Secret of Monkey Island for the Mac: I played this game too many times and started doing the voices to all of the characters.
The Civ series for the Mac and PC: I've gotten hooked on all 4 although 2 is still the best.
Sid Meier's Pirates/Pirates gold/Pirates! live the life on my other brother's college IBM/my Sega emulator/PC:  I loved these games and they're some of the finest games still.
The Metal Gear Solid series for the Playstation/PS2/Gamecube/Tiger: the first Metal Gear game I played was the Tiger Handheld and I played the crap out of it.  Metal Gear Solid/Twin Snakes is so superb and so memorable.
Castlevania Symphony of the Night/Aria of Sorrow for the Playstation/GBA: Two castles, multiple weapons, turn into a bat; what more should I need.
Practically any Lucasarts SCUMM game for the Mac and PC: These rocked...hard.

There are many, but just the major ones:

Zork I - This isn't my favorite text adventure but it was my first, so it has a special place.

Ms. Pac-Man - This is my "perfect game" to Steve's Tetris.

Pitfall - I don't think I ever finished the darn thing on the Atari 2600 (hey I was young) but I played the hell out of it, I can tell you that.

Elite - Space sim/trading game that was like nothing I'd ever seen before.

Doom - I was introduced to Doom and the 'net more or less at the same time in the college library. Yowza.

Civilization II - Didn't fail out of college for it, but my social life took quite a hit that semester.

Marathon - A FPS with a story. Sweeeeeet.

Turok - The game that got me back into consoles since the Atari 2600.

Halo - The game that got be back into consoles again since the N64.

Jade Empire - When I hit that classic BioWare story twist I could not think of anything else but finishing this game.

Half-Life 2 - Short of having destructible environments (Black, here I come) this is pretty much everything I've ever wanted to see in an FPS. I enjoyed the fantastical world of Halo, but the real-world setting in HL2 was like crack to my inner dystopian addict. I fire this game up just to soak up that vibe again.

Sonic the Hedgehog - Everything about Sonic

Halo/Halo 2 - My Favorite FPS

Origninal Gex - Spent hours playing this game

I imagine that I'll remember Phoenix Wright for quite a while, especially if I end up in a career in law.
