Alright on the one hand I am pretty hyped that they are fixing up old C&C to work well on modern operating systems. But the dread of "quality of life" improvements looms large with this remake compilation. Why the **** can't they just make the game work on a new system but otherwise not **** with the original game? They did this **** with Chrono Trigger and ended up having to patch a 25 year old game to make it functional.

This practice really bugs the **** out of me. I hope the end result is okay. But truthfully... and I can't believe I am saying this, they already have a "remaster" of each version on Origin and my original disks work JUST ****ING FINE so what's the deal, EA?

Why sell a game twice when you can sell it like ten times instead?

You know, if they made a tongue-in-cheek marketing campaign about that... I'd be a lot more okay with what they are doing.

all depends on what they do with it PatMan.  Age of Empires II DE actually have some nice life quality improvements.

You bring up a good point.

Me and a guy were discussing this earlier in the week and the compromise we came to was that they need to have some sort of button to play with QoL improvements or not to. Best of both worlds. I'm purist with a lot of my old games and I only want the game to run better on modern hardware. But otherwise I love the clunky menus, the mismatched resolutions, and all the old quirks that came with the old games.

So yeah, a button. That doesn't seem too unreasonable to me. A decent middle ground.

IDK about C&C, there's only one RTS that anyone needs, and it's free to play and called Starcraft II.

I guuueeeesss if you're an old school elitist and want to spend 90% of your energy wrestling with the game rather than your opponent Starcraft Remastered is okay too.

I totally forgot Star Craft II existed. My desire was the play the Protoss campaign (love the single player campaigns in SC, and Protoss are the best) and of course that was the last one they made. The mythical Star Craft II Battlechest might be a thing now... huh.
