Fight Club was quite a good movie, but I enjoyed the book more, a little darker I think, but hey opinions.
Taken was also a great movie, and though the final showdown was indeed quick, it would happen like that in real life. A true life and death fight isn't some crazy epic showdown. It's two or more people just viciously trying to kill the other as quickly as possible. The movie also showed how far a father would go for his child, kind of like John Q with Denzel Washington. Great movie that too.

My favorite movie though, possibly the Messenger with Milla Jovovich. One of her greatest roles in my opinion. It was the story of Joan of Arc, and was directed by Luc Besson (did Leon the Professional, and The Fifth Element I believe) and had some great cinematography. Did a great job of showing life and warfare during that period of the middle ages as well as a new take on Joan and her connection with God which I enjoyed. Dustin Hoffman did a great job at that part. I also think Milla was a great Role model for women in that movie, and me being who I am enjoyed that aspect as well.

I've watched green street recently, that was good, the only problem is that they couldn't of picked a more mis-fitted actor than Elijah Wood to play that part.

Here's my (incomplete) list of all time favorite movies:
The Mechanist(Wonderful Plotline, and great characters)
Alien(Duh)
Mirrormask(A fantastic and magical film)
Wildflowers(Deep)
Loves Brother (I normally don't like romance films, but ther characters here were just so good, along with the acting)
Nausicaa and the Valley of the winds(.....:*( Its...The most incredible animated film I've seen in a long time)
All Studio Ghibli films.
The Cowboy Bepop film (WOW. I didn't expect it to be as deep as it is, and the scene in moscow rang true to home, despite the fact that I live in egypt)

Try the Laibach covers, they're awesome.

Best movie in a while was Slumdog Millionaire. It could easily have been the usual Hollywood sobfest, but the soundtrack and the script took it way beyond that. Despite all the hype and the Oscars, there's actually a good movie behind it all! Don't miss it.

Saw the Truman Show the other day for the first time.

What scared me the most was how real it could be.

And the fact that at least 5 cases of people who belive they are in a TV show have appeared.

I loved "A Scanner Darkly".

Throughout the whole movie, I was terribly confused.  Then in an epic flash of an ending, I fell in love with it.

I concur.
I watched bits and pieces of it.

I still don't know what it was about.

Still a good movie, for a Keanu Reeves affair.
