The only reason so many people like the Lord of the Rings movies is because of the insane amount of special effects that went into them. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just don't think it's enough to automatically place them at the "top" of any lists.

Not this again...

The fact is, when 3/4 of the people who see a movie like it, it can be concidered a good movie by the general majority. But I have never met anyone until you who didn't like the original SW trilogy or LotR. Now, seeing as I know a couple thousand people, that places you at 1/4000, leaving 3999/4000 who did like the movie. We can round that down to 3.9/4... which, being more than 3/4, makes them good movies. Ahhh, fractions are fun  :D

You could also look at the fact that each movie in the LotR trilogy won a number of academy awards. You know, if you buy into that sort of thing.

I could never say a movie is my favorite, but after watching Pulp Fiction, all i can say is that movie is that movie is absolutely F*CKNIG AWESOME!! no joke if you have not seen that movie go and get it and watch it this instance in case you die soon, you will not regret it.

Layer Cake is probably one of my new favorite movies. 
The acting is really well done and the plotline is far from predictable.

A really good movie. It deserved all the Oscar nods and wins.
It ties together really well in the end, and it makes you think, I guess. Necro should see it ;D.
