Hey, Spore might not have lived up to the hype but it wasn't that bad, man. Geeze.
It had a lot of fun aspects, the creature creator was an incredibly satisfying experience, it helped popularize enthusiasm and experimentation for procedural generation in video games, and I did enjoy getting to play it.
It's unfortunate the Maxis team didn't get to make Spore the way they truly wanted to make it. I really loved the vision they had for it. But they still put in a lot of great work toward that vision, and they're still responsible for some of my favorite games.
