FPTP would be a good system if we got rid of political parties.
Political parties would be a good idea under a more proportional voting system.

Only in the sense that it naturally tends towards 2 parties. It does not fully get rid of them.

I'm excited for the 2018 elections in Maine because that's when our ranked-choice voting is supposed to begin.

So is this shaping up to be the labour shellacking feared?
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

Three cheers for the less worse Supreme Leader sanctioned choice, I guess?
Probably not a Goat, either.

I just figured it would have more impact coming from an unashamedly right-wing plutocratic broadsheet. There are other articles that you can read for free explaining the other details

Not surprising, seeing as (at least going by their strategy) the Tories have called this election pretty much just so they can lose it.

Ah the old "Make labour look bad when brexit is inevitably a disaster" plan. Not sure I buy it personally.

Yeah, I'm also making the big assumption that the Tories have a long term plan beyond "be in power forever because we're the Conservatives".

Which is a terrible plan because historically speaking stuff changes, therefore the anti-change conservative political factions always lose in the long term.
