Looking for a good pair of Headphones
« on: February 08, 2016, 02:47:16 pm »
The title says it all. Well almost all. I would like them to be sturdy so I do not have to replace them in at least a couple of years. Generally is the cord that goes broke. Also I would prefer headphones that are over the ears. I am not so sure on wireless. I have a pair now that is wireless but again. The charging cored (or rather the contact) just when broke. I would also like to avoid spending a fortune on them. But yeah I know is a bit you get what you pay for. But if anyone has any suggestions I would be thankful.

I like the steelseries siberia, its pretty good.
It has a special cord that prevents it from tangling up too much and its pretty comfy.
It's a little expensive though, I think 80 bucks or something?

To be clear did you want just headphones or a headset with the mic and stuff? Some people tend to confuse the two.
I reckon most people at their PC want a headset but some people use headphones and a good sound card for higher quality audio.

What's the point, one of the channels will stop working after a few months no matter how expensive they are. :|
No way dude, you're trolling me.

Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro

Excellent pair of over-ear headphones if you're looking to get something on the less-expensive side of the higher end. Reproduces highs and lows very well and works great for music and video games. No mic.

It is not that important that I have a mic with the headphones/headset. One could get a separate mic after all. And if it make the headphones more reliable if I do not have one then that's a bonus.

The point is that I want to avoid such a thing. So I am looking for something that will last but is not to expensive.

And yeah I know there are a lot of expensive crap headphones out there. Why I am asking for advice. ;)

I would like to keep it under 1000 Swedish Kronor. So around 100 USD you could say.

If I'm not too late, I highly recommend SteelSeries as well. I had a Siberia V2 for about three years until (of all things) the connecting headpiece snapped off, so the weight of the thing makes it extremely uncomfortable (though I still have the headset, it does work). The current model, Siberia V3, had launched that very week so those are the ones I've been using ever since.

Generally separate microphone + headphone combinations have better quality for both components. If you want a headphone mounted microphone, I've heard some good things about Antlion ModMics.

Also would you rather have closed or open headphones?  Open leaks sound quite a bit but apparently there's better sound and positional response or...something. I haven't personally tried any, so I'm just going by what I'm reading.

This link seems pretty helpful, though it is written with US prices in mind.  http://www.head-fi.org/a/headphone-buying-guide

I know a guy with those. They actually put out decent sound but they drive all women away.

Ah, Brookstone.  The store for stuff you never knew existed but now still don't really want because it's overpriced nonsense.
Probably not a Goat, either.
