Depends on who you talk to.  I've met several people with real thick accents.  In any case, it's been 250 years.  I'm surprised they still speak understandable English.  0/10 immersion ruined.

What should I do first as soon as I get control of my character? Go left or go right? Or go some other direction entirely?

I started playing this yesterday. I've probably played 4-5 hours in total so I don't know of any neat locations or anything yet. I've kind of just been walking southeast and stopped at whatever NPCs  that's been on the road.

If you go west you hit the big imposing invisible wall pretty quickly.

Maybe try doing the settlement building stuff first, that stuff is pretty fun even though it's really shallow.

Ohh that's my favorite kinda stuff.

Gonna play it as a female. Not sure what her story is yet though. Thinking of giving her some burns and a bad scar and going with "she got trapped or captured or whatever" and has escaped and is now alone in the Wasteland. Not sure yet who or what she likes/dislikes.
