Fallout 4 (Wild mass guessing ahoy!)

Who's exited for getting lost in the wasteland again? With all the new weapon, armor, base and mod possibilities its probably going to be pretty good.

I wanna be excited... but I'm not.

When Bethesda fixes their bug problems I'll consider it. But until then I'll wait for a GOTY edition and a 70% off sale. I won't support a habitually lazy developer. They see the mods that were made for the last game. The least they could do is take some notes. Also I think the characters models and overall visuals they've shown so far look like junk. I'm just not impressed. And especially after playing any of the Witcher games, Bethesda needs to work on their storylines. And if you look at games like Souls, Bethesda needs to work on their combat mechanics.

Bethesda has lost their edge, in my opinion. But I really really really hope they get it back. And if Fallout 4 ends up looking better in a year or so, I'll consider changing my stance. But that's all I can say for now. :D

Also, I think releasing it this year is silly based on the game I've seen. It looks like a really nice game from a few years ago. Keep it in the oven and release it Summer 2016 so people will have time to play it.

The modding of the armor and weapons focus is cool and all but it concerns me since it signals a departure from 'RPG' and more into 'Action-Adventure' territory. If combat modification is such a focus then that means combat is also incredibly important. I mean yeah there's going to be fighting in a Fallout game but it shouldn't be the end-all be all.

Furthering this point is the voice acted protagonist and the radial dialogue menu. Again, this screams neutured dialogue options and therefore less ways to solve problems using the various skills you have that aren't shooting. Also, I'm pretty sure a lot of skills have once again been thrown out the window.

Meanwhile, I'm sure scale will be compeltely ignored again. With the biggest enclave containing 20 homes and 26 NPCs. Like, seriously, can we get a little more depth in terms of the towns? I get that Fallout is post-apocalyptic waste but it's also been hundreds of years later and humans aren't that incompetent that a settlement of 100's wouldn't form. It's just going to be stupid when we are told how the stakes are supposedly so high when really it's nobody.

Speaking of towns, the town crafting is a nice idea but unless it is a truly deep experience I feel like it will feel hollow. Like, okay, you built a settlement, but what can you do with it? Are the people going to be more than just talking shops? Will there be real weight to the NPCs that show up or are they going to be Peasant X who will say 'Oh hey thanks for putting all this **** here you're cool, Do you want me to follow you?'. Trading between towns has been mentioned but I mean, what's being traded that you can't carry yourself? What's the economy get you? If it's just money so you can grow your economy that's just shallow and boring a la Assassins Creed.

Their storytelling has been 3 straight misses (Oblivion was bad, FO3 was really bad, Skyrim didnt even need to be beat) so I don't see why this main story will be better. Their side quest might be up to snuff but unless they have depth to them and impact the main story or something beyond the bubble of the quest then they're still behind the times and need to learn to weave **** together for **** sakes.

I'm fearful everything besides maybe mods will be wide as the ocean deep as a puddle once more.

Hm what else. I'll buy it more than likely. Maybe not right away but probably since I'm impatient and unfortunately they have no competition in this market. Plus it will be fun for like 20 hours at least (that's usually when I'm up to my ankles and bored of splashing with my toes), so I mean it's not like it won't be totally worth it. I just would like it to be more ofc haha
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

Holy **** eropS and I agree on something. :OOOO

But in all seriousness, I want and hope that this game is good. But momma didn't raise no fool.

unfortunately they have no competition in this market

This right here is the real crux of Bethesda's problem. They have no competition. There is no reason for them to fix any of the major issues that have existed in their games since Morrowind.

Thank the Nine Divines Witcher 3 ended up being a better Elder Scrolls game than Elder Scrolls.

I don't know about this one. It feels like they have taken one steps forward and two steps back.

Skills seems to have been completely overhauled, need to see more though.

S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats like Intelligence used to affect how many skill points you recieved for each level, now it just seems to give you an experience boost. I guess it will also allow for passing certain intelligence checks, unless they have cut back on that as well. Low intelligence used to affect how your character spoke, but with a voiced main character I highly doubt it will change at all.

I'm not too fond of  dialogue wheel either, they tend to limit your dialogue options to "1. Agree(or Good), 2. Disagree(or Bad), 3. Neutral, 4. More information" and you don't get to see exactly what the character is about to say.

However, the town creation looks interesting, hopefully it will be a bit more in-depth than other games that have tried this. The weapons costumization is a big step forward from the old upgrades system in NV and F3.

I hope it will be good but I wont buy it on day one unless it recieves a lot of praise.

This is the same pattern as every Bethesda game ever.

It gets announced, all the grognards go "Eh it looks ok but too much bugs/bad voice acting/Sean Bean/Liam Neeson/Captain Picard/Adoring Fan/Messed up the Lore, I'm not gonna get it unless its on sale"

Then when it comes out like 80% of your steam friends list is people playing it. Everyone says "yeah it's pretty good but they didn't fix all of the problems from last time", but they still play it like five hours a day for the firs three weeks its out. Then once they've all completed it they're like "this game is garbage only a casual scrub would play it" and the cycle repeats.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

So much negativity

I have a standard of quality I expect from games. Blame Nintendo and Valve I guess.

Also, Sam is correct. Gamers are spineless dweebs in that respect. It's no wonder nobody takes us seriously.

**EDIT**
Oh and another thing. How about instead of dialog trees we use our awesome computing power and the leeway gamers give Bethesda with their development times to have a new game with an open ended dialog system like what much older games used to have. Let me type in my own responses. Take all the time you need to make it work, guys. I can wait. My kids and I can play it together when it comes out.

It's going to be stupid but it's got better graphics than skyrim so we'll buy it for the porn mods.
Not a winner anymore.

Wasn't there an NPC wearing a tunnel snakes jacket in the trailer?
