Okay so this is out and it's basically Civ 4: Revolution except it's in space. I might pick it up since I wasn't a huge civ V fan but like the idea of this spin off.

Anyone have it yet? Thoughts of your own?
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

It's not bad. Feels a lot like Civ V.

I really like the "roguelike" aspect, though on my second playthrough I got all the same stuff in more or less the same order. So that system seems pretty limited. It's cool but I feel like 50 bucks was 10 dollars too expensive.

**EDIT**
Was just in the shower thinking about this. The tech web is hard to follow as well. It needs more color.

I like this game but it's very similar to Civ V and not necessarily to its benefit. But I will be playing this a lot. Though honestly I think I'll have more fun when cheat mods or a good trainer comes out. Hoping by tonight for a trainer. It's so much like Civ V I think I would rather just run around romping people and doing weird stuff. :U

Have you played Civ V with the Brave New World expansion? It really bring the end-game up.

I dunno this game is weird. I'm enjoying it but the stuff I wished they would have fixed like the AI is almost exactly the same.

**EDIT**
Boom! There's the trainer. 8)

Demo is out.

I like this game so far, but I feel like it might be 25% off come Christmas and am hesitant to go full purchase price.

This is definitely the kind of game you want to wait for a sale to buy.

Sucks, I pre-purchased it two days ago. Would definitely take that one back if I could. This game is not worth the full price.

Yeah every planet is that with different land forms.

If the "decision" segments were more varied and dynamic and impact it could solve a lot of this. Huge missed opportunity.

Pandora: First Contact is a similar game for anyone that wanted something slightly different.

The more I play the more I feel like this game is just a really good mod.

I've played some mods over the years that are about this good (some better). But this is still not worth the full price of a game. I'm not sure what I paid for or what they've been doing all this time. The core Civ V experience is there... well, no it isn't because they took a lot of things out. Maybe expansions will make this game better but I was hoping for more than that. And it makes me very wary about pre-purchasing one of Firaxis' games in the future.

First strike on them in a long time. (anyone remember Civ III: Play the World? :UUU) Gonna have to keep my eyes peeled to make sure they haven't forgotten their business because now I'm a little worried. :(

I think that about puts a bow on it, ChiToes.

Wait for the expansions if you haven't bought this. Or a good sale on the standalone title.

It definitely has that "really good mod" feel to it. Still, there's enough new content to put a new spin on things. Keep in mind that Civ5 was in a similar state when it was released, and it was greatly improved just by a couple of patches, even before its expansions. I'll certainly purchase any expansions that'll be released.

Yeah I feel similarly.

Because I love Civ and Civ V, this games is definitely fun to me. But if you're not like me or Dragon, might want to wait. Would you say that is a fair assessment, Dragon?
