HOLLYWOOD HIGH
« on: September 30, 2013, 05:19:29 pm »
Hello All,

Does anyone know or is familiar with someone who could access the programming code for the 1997 Hollywood High program?

I am interested in updating the code.

Thanks for any help that you can provide,

humbleman

I mean you brought me in with the title.

Now I'm bummed.
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

Holy Toledo, this is bizarre.
I can actually help you with this for strange, strange reasons, yes. Hold on a sec.
What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

Tomorrow will be exactly eight years since I made this thread: http://www.gamingsteve.com/blab/index.php?topic=1288.msg28377#msg28377

I had literally the same problem.

Over five years later, in 2011, someone named dwagonfwy bumped the thread with this post:
yes, i'm bumping a thread over 5 years old...but i've got some really good news for you, sgore:

run Hollywood High once so it will generate a file called theatrix.ini in your system root (%systemroot%\theatrix.ini, e.g. C:\WINDOWS\theatrix.ini).  open this file with notepad and replace the contents with the following:

Code: [Select]
[CVPP]
ID950=MW
ID952=rite
ID951=FFSC2

enjoy your combined hollywood + hollywood high :-)

It was amazingly helpful advice, and the only post this person ever made.

I share it with you now.

Well folks, that's mission accomplished.  It took awhile and we had a few bumps along the way, but we finally did it.

Time to pack it up.  We're done here.

Wait, wait, I might have misread his request. He's looking to access the programming code, not necessarily the game's "unlock code."

My bad guys. Set it all back up.

Damn it do you have any idea how long it takes for the projector to warm up after you've turned it off?
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

If you flip the switch on and then off real fast, then turn it on again it should start right up. At least that's what mine does.

Wait, you guys were looking for a purpose this whole time? I just stumbled in a few years ago and the tentacles haven't let me go yet, I didn't know there was a reason.

Thanks, friends, for the initial Hollywood to Hollywood High transfer code.

Am looking for the source code in hopes to enhance the program.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks for the funny banter as well....

If you want to know what your special purpose is, just ask Navin Johnson.
