Well she's younger than my second brother and younger than a girl I tried to ask out last year (she was 17 at the time, but worked behind the bar - didn't pour drinks. I've always held she didn't say no, just that she couldn't go out for drinks). I don't know, maybe I am worrying too much.

About the crazy, eh, I've known crazy. It could be I never run into her again. Or I could, and I'll have another part of the story. Unless she kills me or something. I'm going out with that same group for a birthday weekend kind of thing (could have gone out with them last night, but they went to a club I would not want to pay for again, so I went to the pub and had very nice Swedish cider poured by a cute Glaswegian barmaid and talked about nerdy things with drama society), so I may have something new.

I've got two slightly less interesting stories, but I like to boast. Not that there's much to boast about.

It's the night before I leave for uni, and I've 'planned' a night out with my friends. First I go see my last show at the Old Vic, a dance show that did interesting things with memory. Then we move onto this pizza pub and get invited upstairs to where the Old Vic people are saying goodbye to the Outreach director. At one point this guy his next to me, doing the classic 'put up ya dukes' boxing stance. Naturally, I join in, and we playfully, drunkenly wrestle for a little bit before I concede. It was because I was standing in the way for him to sit down. The next day, I'm on Facebook, and my friend took a photograph. And knew I was wrestling with the director of the show I'd just seen. That was a surprise.

Anyway, the main thrust of this story is, we were supposed to try and get to this club before midnight so we didn't have to pay. My friends being flaky arty people, we don't. But it gives me time to say goodbye to some of the Old Vic people, get some life affirming replies, all that jazz. Then we finally start off at around god knows when, but too late to get in for free.

But it was worth it. First of all, it was a DJ who knew what he was doing, not just playing songs. Second, this happened. So I'm doing my approximation of dancing, drink in hand. And I notice this lady keeps looking at me. She does this several times before she finally talks to me (like I said, I am terrible at reading people). We get to know each other, by shouting over the music and start dancing together. Now, to skip to the end, the most that happens is we hold hands throughout the night, I kiss her on the cheek and dance closely, but then the place was packed. This was because she was sort of seeing someone*, someone she had hoped to meet that night, but couldn't find, so she attached herself to me. Not that I minded, it was more than I expected for my last night. My friends tried to help - we were dancing a little away from them and every time I looked over, they would be egging me on. But I didn't push anything, because that's not me, and it's not what she wanted, and the night ended with me escorting her back to her halls (it was her first week of a local uni). Then I got my friend, in his mixture of being drunk and high, on my shoulder, waxing philosophical about relationships. And my other friend, who was saying how much braver I was than she, which is what she always does when I ask someone out. The grand total of twice over the last year, the aforementioned front of house lady and a old school friend who was rehearsing a show (she was seeing someone*, so we just got food and sat down in the park and talked).

The second story is shorter. Basically it's my first night in York, so we all go out. We get bored with Student Union so we look for a pub. By we, I mean myself, a flat mate and her twin and my goth flatmate. Now, this goth flatmate didn't eat much, so after the amount shots we shared, she's pretty drunk, and I'm not sober either. And we kiss. Twice. Quick pecks on the lips mind you, but, more than I've ever expected. And, she, admittedly drunkenly, said if she didn't have a boyfriend*, she'd go out with me. Then the next morning, it was all drunk talk that she couldn't really remember.

A good start to the year, I think.

*notice a running theme? I think fate likes toying with me.

Possibly.  Is there a mlp sticker on your foil?

How do you know he's using a foil and not an epee or a sabre?

Everyone starts on foil. It was developed as a training weapon and has no approximation in any real weapons which were used historically in battles or duels. (Obviously sabres were widely used by cavalry and the epee is basically a rapier, which was the generally favoured duelling weapon in much of Europe for a while).

The name foil derives from the thing they put over the tip of the sword so they wouldn't stab each other during practise. This is also why in foil the only valid target area is the torso, whereas sabre and epee allow the entire upper body and the whole body respectively.

Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

I liked the foil the best because of the standards you had to keep while fencing with it. Priority is awesome and requires skill unlike those other stupid hunks of metal.

Psh the crazy thing is a rumor; unless someone verifies she is the intruder I'd write it off. Hope it works out favorably for you either way.

Also Haseri both those stories are fun; props to you for respecting the goalie. I like to think I would ever since I messed around with a taken girl back in high school but I'm not entirely sure how true I'd be to that if I was in a different state of mind.

Fun stories though sounds like you're having a good time being back which is cool.

No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

My ass.

Pretty cool story though, Haseri. Hope things go well for you.

Everyone starts on foil.

Actually I was in the UF fencing club and I started with epee.

Yes, I did start with foil and yes, I did learn how to do most of the basic fencing moves as far as I know. I'm just really terrible at it, of course.
Yeah, [Kishmond] came back from Africa, but the ponies have him now.

So on Tuesday I lost my glasses and today I lost my favourite hat.

It's like the universe is telling me to be a filthy bare-head.
No way dude, you're trolling me.

Grow your own hat out of your head.

Today I bought a new identical hat and got two new glasses. (Both much nicer than the old ones!)

All is well.

Nah, he just got a 2 for 1 deal on them I suspect.

I've done that twice in a row so now I have three spair pairs >_> (the last 2 sets of glasses I got were just because I was being vain not because my eyes had got worse so I have four pairs with the same prescription).

I have two pairs, both with the same prescription. The one I'm wearing changes depending on my mood.
