I suppose this counts as a curious outing. My fiance and I (I probably should have also mentioned I got engaged; if I remember to upload the engagement photos I think you guys will enjoy them. But I digress) decided to start walking/jogging. There's a road super close to my house, maybe a few hundred feet away (my bus stop was actually on this road for a while), that we decided to walk down. This road is in the opposite direction from the center of town and everything, so even though it's close we never really have reason to go by it. So, first thing we notice is that it's blocked off by big rocks, maybe 2-3 feet high. As we continue down, we begin to notice the following: all houses gone, burned down (you could tell from the ash); broken and hanging telephone wires; an old half-submerged dock (the road runs alongside a pond) and an abandoned shed; and a small (maybe 10 graves) historical graveyard. The road's pretty short and had a dead end. It was super weird and creepy. I really wanna make a movie there (we make short movies; I'll post a link to those too if I remember)...

It drove me crazy, when I tried looking up more about the road all I could tell were that people had lived there at least as of 2012. After some more searching we finally found out what happened there but it was super disappointing. Apparently all the houses on that road were owned by a company that leased them to people. Apparently, being on the water, upkeep cost more than it was worth to lease the houses, so when the leases were up they just demolished them all.

Neat! Sounds like a good location to set up a seasonal scary attraction.
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

So apparently I dodged a bullet last night. I was being friendly with this lady in the Union bar and we decide, in that way drunk people do, to go to her halls, which was quite a trek. Then a load of miscommunication happen, I find her in bed with this guy (fully clothed, they were just talking, at least while I was there). Then my friend rings, tells me he's out on the main road and I make my way home.

So I'm in Media Research and I'm in a group with two of the guys I was out with. And we're talking about the night before, one guy all like 'oh this girl was all interested in [Haseri]' (not that I really noticed - I was interested at the time, but had no idea if it was reciprocated, being as dense as I am to body language). I, being quite the cognisant inebriate, could remember the lady's name. Then the fourth guy in the group asks about her. He lives in the same halls as her, and he thinks it could be the crazy person that goes into unlocked houses (these halls are a bunch of houses) and writes 'It's OK, I'm just making sure you're safe' or words to that effect on their whiteboards.

And she's only been 18 for 2 months.

It's a minefield being old enough to be a masters student.

Being both a nerd and a Mormon my life is double boring. But today I learned how to fence. That's cool, right?
Yeah, [Kishmond] came back from Africa, but the ponies have him now.

Possibly.  Is there a mlp sticker on your foil?
Probably not a Goat, either.

How do you know he's using a foil and not an epee or a sabre?

Oh man Haseri please keep us posted that sounds fun.

I say go for it. Your profile says you're 21 so idk why age would be a factor...

Speaking of which I got a girls number during free dance at swing club. Thinking I'll see if I can't get her to come out with me later this week.

No way dude, you're trolling me.
