Ask the Members of Gamingsteve Anything! (Now with more fun!)
« on: August 06, 2013, 01:07:49 am »
I would call the mods something, but at the risk of more permutations of my name I'd rather not.

Anyways, this is the thread where people as other people stuff.

Right now, the person to ask things is me. I suppose that every once in a while, whenever you all tire of me, some other people will offer their names and a poll will be made.

After you've gone, I guess you can't go again for two iterations or something. Depends on how long an iteration of this runs.

So ask away.

It's alright.

Learned a little guitar, planning to start learning Russian sometime soon. I've decided to hopefully major in Anthropological Linguistics, when the time comes to do so.

Other than that, a fairly boring Summer. Never much liked Summer.

Aye, summer in LA. That sounds horrible.  :/

Wish you all the best in learning Russian. I hear it can be pretty hard.

Why Russian and not something like Spanish that's useful?
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

Because people don't only learn languages based on how many people speak it?

Russian is the 6th most commonly spoken language in the world and one of the official languages of the UN.

Because it is such an interesting language, and I know enough people that know Russian that it would be funny to just speak it to them one day.

Also, like I said, I'm going to try to study Anthropological Linguistics and I might as well start early. I like patterns of grammar and syntax, the way languages are put together.

Aye, summer in LA. That sounds horrible.  :/

Not horrible, just boring. Unlike most, I love this place and am a city boy through and through. And thanks.

I figure I might as well hand over the reigns to another person in like a week or something?

After how much time should I put up the poll? I was thinking after four days I would put up the poll and after a week I would let the other person go.

How does it feel knowing you'll never be as good at cashing in on topic trends as me?

Rys you don't get to ask the questions here.

What do you want to do with Linguistics?

And Sam I guess Russian is more common than I thought but I mean the guy is in CA, Spanish is basically the second language here (and most of the US) is all.

Like I said, I really like the way languages flow and syntax all sort of fits together, and the way those things change over time. I want to learn more about it.

It's my passion, I guess.

That's nice wish I was passionate enough about something like that to want to study it on my own time.

Don't listen to the haters Rys; once we know Russian we can post in Cyrillic and upset them.
