Be a shark! Crush the skulls of your opponents as you climb the corporate ladder!

I'm not buying all that about needing manipulation and deceit for the business world.  No matter how good you are at it, or how good you think you are, someone will see through you and know that you're full of crap.  There are times when it's best to not give out every detail, but honesty is preferable.

Indeed.

Playing competition off against each other can be quit useful, but picking your targets is a very important thing as well.

I don't think I'm getting through.  Again, just try not to be a jerk out there.
Probably not a Goat, either.

Well, yeah, there's also that.

It's a lot harder, though, and takes a lot more time, and has a lower chance of success. There are only a handful of powerful folks out there who can honestly say that they didn't use underhanded tactics.

Friendzoned?

Ugh there's that word again. Such a dumb concept. Anyone who gets 'friend zoned' likely never had a chance at a sexual relationship with the girl in question in the first place, likely due to their unfortunate choice of headwear and general wimpishness.

I'd say I got decently tossed around my senior year even though I was forthcoming...
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

The idea of being "friendzoned" seems so entitled to me.
No way dude, you're trolling me.

Why? If you ask a girl out and she says she wants to just be friends, what is your phrase for that situation?

When you say you've been friendzoned, you act like the girl was in some way supposed to go out with you, and that by denying it that she is withholding something from you. It implies people are like vending machines - just put enough niceness in until a relationship pops out.

But you could apply the exact same term to any social transaction. It's silly.

"I have a spare room in my house, wanna move in?"
"No thanks, I already found a place"
FRIEND ZONED

"I'm looking for partners for my tech startup, want to buy in"
"Nah I've got too much on my plate at my day job"
FRIEND ZONED

I don't really see why there has to be a special term for when a friend of yours doesn't want to go out with you.

But more than anything the term (like the fedora hat) has been damned by association with 'Mens Rights Activists' and 'Nice Guys' (noe capitalisation). So regardless of whether you think its fair you should probably be careful about bandying the phrase about lest you get tarred with the same brush as some frustrated brony who thinks girls should have sex with him because he holds doors open for them.  ;)

I think the status of friends could change anytime, it depends on how someone feels at the current moment.

Right, the term has a strong negative connotation. "Dammit, now I'm her friend. Ugh!"

Whatever

Have you been turned down by any girls who wanted to just stay friends?*

No, I don't have any female friends who I'm attracted to.

I did have a girlfriend who stayed friends after I broke up with her. (Though admittedly I now haven't spoken to her in like a year and a half).

I dunno. Everyone on the internet and everywhere is pretty keen to give out relationship advice and its pretty much all pointless because everyone is different and wants something different. Just do whatever works for you, but I'd advise you to steer clear of those 'Game' douchebags that think its cool to trick women into having sex with them.

Yeah they don't really like it when you proposition them for sex just because you feel like it. That one's pretty universal and I won't even charge you.
