Goldeneye for its excellent multiplayer, and Ocarina of Time 'cause it's a classic.

You're talking to the right guy.

Looking through your list, his game prices seem awfully high. Do you know the condition of any of these games? Ocarina of Time is over 50 USD. I'd only pay that if it was in very good condition and still had the box or manual. If you just want a cartridge you can get OoT for 20 bucks or 130 SEK.

Same with the likes of Goldeneye. He wants 249 SEK but the cart can be easily found for 65 SEK.
Banjo-Tooie's price is absurd!! He wants 599 SEK but the cart alone can be found for about 130 SEK.

Do not buy from this guy. What is he charging you for the console?

You can get this stuff cheaper if you buy the parts individually. This seller appears to be judging costs based on the quality of the game which is an incorrect approach. If a game was very good and very popular it WILL increase the value but not by that much. The real things that dictate value in game collecting are the rarity of the game based on production runs, the condition of the unit in question, and whether or not it comes with the original box and literature (and the condition of those things).

And it doesn't sound like you're getting this set to be a collector. It seems like you're getting it to play and enjoy. And if you're doing that, even if these prices are for good quality cartridges with complete documentation and their boxes, it's not what you need to buy unless you plan to start collecting seriously.

The other recommendations here are fine, but not for the price. I'll wait for you to respond to see what you're doing, then I'll give you a list of games I think you should get. ;)

He is charging 600:- for the console including 1 controller which he says does not have a sloppy joystick. The thing about the prices is that after looking around quite a bit on other ads I didn't find anything that is that much cheaper, he seems to have standard prices for Sweden. This might have to do with Swedens high taxes.

Buy outside of Sweden then if you can. That's what I do (you know what I mean).

I import things from all over the world to avoid high prices. If a Japanese seller has the right game for the right price, you buy Japanese! If it's a German, you're buying German. You just have to do some research, there's someone selling what you want for a lower price every time. Promise. :D

Also, "does not have a sloppy joystick" is just a sales tactic. Most N64 controllers still work perfectly. They CAN have bad joysticks, but it's hardly a problem that warrants that disclaimer.

The only thing you're going to have to watch out for is to make sure you get the correct regional version of the games you buy. I know the N64 is region locked but it's tricky because it doesn't work both ways all the time. Like, I can play a Japanese N64 game in my US-coded console but I can't play a PAL game. Though the PAL to NTSC issue is a physical region lock, not a hardware one. For your case just make sure you get games from the right region to avoid any fuss.

Shop around and see what you can get. I promise you there are better prices. But it comes down to whether or not you're willing to pay more for convenience or pay less and do more work.

I looked at UK:s ebay and the prices there were quite a bit lower, but most of the time not enough to compensate for the 30.00 - 96.00 they wanted for posting the console and a couple of games to me. The sloppy joystick thing was really just me asking him about it since he said the console was in good condition.

From what I've seen I don't really think the work it requires to get it a bit cheaper is worth it for me.

Fair enough. If you've got the money to burn, burn away! I know I have when it comes to games. :P

I am just naming games here and not necessarily using your list but you should try to track these down first.

Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
Beetle Adventure Racing
Donkey Kong 64
Goldeneye -OR- Perfect Dark (pick one to get first and get the other later)
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
Mario Kart 64 -OR- Diddy Kong Racing (pick one to get first and get the other later)
Paper Mario
Super Mario 64
Super Smash Bros.
Star Fox 64/Lylat Wars (same game)
Vigilante 8

Here's the others that you should get but they are not priority in my opinion.

1080 Snowboarding
Diddy Kong Racing
F-Zero X
Harvest Moon 64
JetForce Gemini
Kirby 64
Pilotwings 64
Pokemon Snap
San Francisco Rush
Star Wars Rogue Squadron
Wave Race 64
Wipeout 64
Yoshi's Story

There are some others but that's a good start. See if you can track them all down eventually! You'll have a top-notch collection. If you have any questions about specific games feel free to ask. I've played most of the ones you have listed and between everyone here I'm sure we can cover the games that I have not played.

Oh man for sure get Yoshis Story. That game is great!

Perfect Dark is just an upgraded Golden Eye imo.

So

Mario 64
Banjo Kazooie 1 and 2
Paper Mario
Kirby 64
DK64
LoZ OoT and MM
Pokemon Snap
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

For MM to even run on your N64 it needs expansion pack, which can be a pain to hunt down.

That's a very good point. I'm not sure how I overlooked that.

If and when you buy DK64 (you should) it shouldn't be too difficult to find it bundled with a RAM expander. They were bundled together when they were originally sold at retail anyway. But I wouldn't call it a pain to find. There's a fair amount of them floating around. But yeah, pick one up anyway. It'll make some of your games look and run better even if they don't require it.

Also, **** the shortened "this post has been edited by" timer. It's stupid. I can't even correct minor mistakes without looking like a chode.

I did.

Me and my brother played the multiplayer extensively, screen looking and the fact you could only select 12 units at a time be damned!

Cool!

StarCraft on the n64 has to be one most bizarre ports ever, along with nearly releasing black and white 1 on the playstation!
