The poll's pretty much been set at 10 votes for the last few days, with Difference Engine in the lead, so it seems we have our decision for the first book!

Check in when you've acquired it, and we'll get started on making up a deadline schedule.
What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

Acquired. There appears to be only six chapters. Only one chapter per deadline, then?

Also, a map! I like this book already. Wondering what sort of events took place to make Mexico French.

Probably this, but different.

Also why did you use spoiler tags? You're not spoiling anything.

The map comes before the first chapter even starts. :P

Except the map says "1855." :P Then again, the CSA didn't exist in 1855 either.

I'll pick up a copy in the next day or two.  I get to brave the nightmare that is the science fiction section of a book store.
Probably not a Goat, either.

No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

I'll have to have a look to see if my local library has it, if so I might join in.

So, how about we begin reading this weekend?

Anyone have a problem with that?
