He managed to become a successful minor celebrity
He's famous for being famous in certain circles. He comes across Guy from Galaxy Quest except desperate for fame and adoration instead of just really liking the show he was in. Speaking of Galaxy Quest, Wil Wheaton wishes he was in it
Person21 - As enjoyed by Veraal.
A wise Surface to Air Missile once said about marrying 9 year olds in Saudi Arabia "Its pretty hard to tell if a 9 year old is going to be hot when she grows up, kids change a lot, usually, seems like a bad system. That cute little nine year old you married could end being a fat, zitty teenager."

It was about Kickstarters but also the MST3k reboot.

Lurk, the reason it has new people is because, historically, the show has always cycled cast members to play the same roles. Not a single cast member from season 1 was still on the show for season 10, yet it still functioned the same way. It's kind of like Doctor Who I guess.

Was the cycling of on air talent for mst3k intentional? I thought there was some kind of falling out. The guys from the later seasons are busy on rifftrax.
Probably not a Goat, either.

Well, in the Kickstarter Joel said the show was originally conceptualized that way.

Also, I wasn't aware anyone actually watched Other Space, but Joel isn't the only MST3k guy on that show. Art the robot is played by the guy who originally played Crow.

So Patton Oswalt is in it as TV's Son of TV's Frank. That's pretty cool, he's alright. I like him enough.

Better than that Neo-Nazi baby-eating furry Wil Wheaton.

I'm significantly more interested in this now that Oswalt is involved.

Hey guys remember the time Tim Schafer asked for 3.3 million dollars to kickstart a game he wanted to make and then the game didn't come out and the money went IDUNNO?

Just forget about all that, because Tim Schafer is asking for 3.3 million dollars to kickstart a game he wants to make and when it comes out it will be awesome and money well-spent!

will 3.3 million really fund his game?I have to ask this because the most successful game kick starters have had budgets that are double that.

he actually asked for 400k, got 3.3 mil and then didn't have enough to finish the game.
and then there was that spacebase game, that they just decided to not finish.

but hey, what could go wrong this time.

No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

Quote from: Bobby Kotick
“Tim Schafer. The guy comes out and says I’m a prick. I’ve never met him in my life – I’ve never had anything to do with him.”

“I never had any involvement in the Vivendi project that they were doing, Brütal Legend, other than I was in one meeting where the guys looked at it and said, ‘He’s late, he’s missed every milestone, he’s overspent the budget and it doesn’t seem like a good game. We’re going to cancel it.”

“And do you know what? That seemed like a sensible thing to do. And it turns out, he was late, he missed every milestone, the game was not a particularly good game.”

"I'll send him ****ty movies Morty. The wo-urrrst I can find!"

"Aww geeze Rick the worst you can find? Th-that, that sounds like torture to me Rick. I-I-I-I'm really not comfortable with torturing people with ****ty B-movies."

"Relax Morty, he's just gonna have to sit and watch them all while I monitor his brainwaves."
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.
