In my experience Sim Life was about disappointment.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

Yeah... It is not as good as Sim Earth. Which is less about evolution however.

Man, kid me was sooo disappointed with Sim Life.  At least it taught me the important lesson of not believing the box art.
Probably not a Goat, either.

Oh man I forgot Kickstarter was even still a thing.

I guess you can still get boardgames?
Not a winner anymore.

I got that too one year. It was around the time our household got our first ever PC. Coworker sold it to us. It has Simcity 2000 on it and it was the best.
But my folks didn't know too much about buying more games for the thing so they just grabbed whatever. Remember those ENORMOUS PC game boxes? ****ing things were like.. as big as cereal boxes for christ's sake.

Mostly a bunch of garbage, some of it didn't even run, but one of those games was Sim Isle. That ran. Oh god, I wish it didn't. It was the most frustrating thing ever trying to figure out how the hell to DO anything in that game.
So it's like.. yay new games.
Oh god it sucks my life is over.

Sim Farm was quality. Just want to say that.

Also I kept all my old PC boxes. Got three boxes full of boxes stored away in Dad's basement.

I used to love sim farm back then. Just simple fun. Make money and expand a bit and make more money.
Tried playing it again recently. It is olde.

Don't forget SimAnt! The simulation was surprisingly in depth, even compared to modern games. And unlike SimEarth, that depth worked really well even on 90s computer hardware.

Also, the secret to SimFarm is strawberries. Only grow strawberries, you will be beside yourself in money.

I've been trying to get my hands on a copy of simlife that can actually run on this 64bit Windows 10 laptop.

Last I checked http://www.abandonia.com/, the program wouldn't start.

Anyone want to help ruin some nostalgia for me?

Well, it was released in 1992, so try installing it on a virtual Windows 3.1 machine?

You should be able to emulate 3.1 very easily nowadays. Send me a PM if you get stuck.

Mutant: Mechatron - Rise of the Robots was the last project I backed. If you like Table Top RPGs you might want to look it up. A bit short notice so be quick.

Mutant is one of the oldest and well know TT RPGs out there. One version of it even got a bit of popularity outside of Sweden. But who cares about that! The game has Robots!
