Non gaming shows on G4TV.
« on: December 23, 2005, 11:42:11 pm »
Am I the only one noticing stuff like the Man Show, Fastlane and racing shows on G4?  And now Star Trek: the next generation is reruning on there!  I mean it's an alright show, but it's STAR TREK!!!  What the hell does that have to do with gaming?  G4 seems to be going into some trend of showing "man" shows and sooner or later it will be converted to the manly gaming xtreme channel.  Am I the only one who thinks this is b u l l s h i t?

well remember it used to be tech tv, so having auto mechanic or sci-fi shows isn't really a stretch.  the man show has to be pure demographics though.
I have been told
not by one but two of my lovers
that I've got a heart of gold
but I'm unable to share it with others
They call me a poet who'll never have a poem
a tiger with no taste for bone
I'm the wonderful wonderful wizard who's waltzing alone

G4 still hasn't completely crossed over into pure gaming.

Thankfully it's still G4TechTV up here in Canada.  Thouhg there is not much difference from ours to the one in US.
Currently playing: Perfect Dark Zero, Golden Sun, Half Life 2

I don't think it's that bad an idea, nobody wants to watch TV about video games for too long. That's like watching a movie about a guy who likes to watch TV. Bad mojo.

Now that I know G4 isn't as boring as it once was, I'll check it out some more. They shouldn't stray too far from their original audience, though. That would definitely kill them.

Well g4techtv as it is called here (canada) should really stay with gaming and tech.  The channel is bad enough that it has sites trying to boycott it, it's turning into pure dog s  h i t.

There's a word filter for a purpose. Just because there are little asterisks there doesn't make your point any less meaningful. Check this out: Bill Gates is a cheap ****tard. I kept my point and didn't have to try to surpass the rules.

Guys keep it clean. If I see you trying to curse or try to get around the filtering and you will banned from the forums forever. This is your first and last warning.

Is it okay to take advantage of the fact that the filter is there and just type swear words? Or do you want us to keep away from anything implying a swear word?

Because this is my site and I make the rules, that's why. End of discussion.

Sorry gamingsteve, give me a REAL reason why I shouldn't be able to swear beyond, "IT'S MY SITE!"  And yes, please answer why hell is worse than the s-word.  If you're serious about language filters, explain why hell isn't censored.  Why is swearing on here censored period?  And don't say the usual exuse, "Well, kids view my site and blah blah blah."  No seriously, what's with all this?  I'm not trying to offend you or anything, I'm just puzzled.

Because there are members of all ages and it is Steve's site and he doesn't want swearing. You don't need an explanation more than that.   You don't have to cuss to get your point across. There are many other words that can be used besides swearing. Everyone else seem to be able to do it just fine.

Dude, I think you need to quit it and respect Steve. This is his website, and these are his forums, so the least you can do is follow his rules and respect them. Steve doesn't need a reason for his rules; it's his website. It's like walking into someones house and not taking off your shoes when asked to, then arguing about it.

Just show some respect man.
