I found a flying pirate ship!  They were very friendly until I shot them and they threw me overboard!

the changelog

Quote
Changelog for v. Annoyed Koala  5/12/2013

- HUGE balance patch, every item, creature, armor and weapon rebalanced. Leveling system entirely rewritten

Although the balance is early the new leveling system, the system is much better than the old one and we can

now improve balance over time.

- Added early implementation of creature taming (more features coming soon)

- Added new mining items

- Added new weapons

- Added new throwable items

- Added grappling hook

- Added new boss and new sector of the galaxy

- Added a stance system to weaponry, not currently used but will allow us to

add secondary attacks to weaponry very soon.

- Tons of new sounds

- Guns more common in tier 3

- Underground detached/rare biomes more common

- Underground random encounters more common

- Underground chests more common

- Ore rebalance (probably way way too much ore at the moment, will be fixed later, enjoy it)

- Baby monsters

- New monster palettes

- Added pixel compressor for high cost banking (idea from Ncrpts)
- Disable using the beamaxe to light caves underground

- Added new hats

- some monsters now graze on grass (can look ugly, needs finishing)

- Small bipeds now socialise with eachother

- All the monsters behave smarter and are less likely to get stuck

- You can no longer attack through blocks

- Fix the game on XP (hopefully)

- Tons more fixes and smaller additions

I need a new tag.

Oh man not attacking through blocks is gone...
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

I know it's the best defense in taking out gun wielders.

They need to let us hold a key to raise a shield if we have one, like hit Ctrl and boom shield raised.

I thought that was the point of putting the shield in one of our hand slots, so that we could do that with anything one-handed?

From what I've gathered, the L slot is what you useby default when you scroll off the item bar, the R slot is what you use when you select a blank hotbar item. Idk any other way of using the items in those slots.

I'm assuming this is what you meant by hand slots and I find them ineffective

sure, it's going to change/wipe I expect at least a dozen more times, but there is learning curve to the game and mechanics anyhow, so restarting in this game shouldn't be too bad. It's like minecraft where starting over fresh and doing something different is half the fun.

The update where they wiped characters requires another wipe of characters to fix a massive damage "bug" in the game.  Your crafted weapons do 10 to 100 times more damage than they should.  But, it should be good to get in after this next update.

It's still pretty unbalanced and needs a lot more tweaking, but it is fun to explore and try and find better weapons and gear.  But it seems to be farther along than Terraria was when he released.
