Gamerís death at internet cafe goes unnoticed for nine hours
« on: February 07, 2012, 06:18:16 am »
It's easy to get absorbed in a game, but it's another thing entirely to be so absorbed that you don't notice the guy next to you has died.
Gamers in a Taipei internet cafť failed to notice the newly deceased for a staggering amount of time earlier this week. Officials estimate that 23-year-old gamer Chen Rong-yu had been dead up to nine hours before anyone realized it.

Seriously, what... are you?

You've made some real posts and reacted to people, which would imply your human. And yet, at other times you exhibit dangerously similar to that of a spambot.

I think he means well, but just doesn't know better.

Dirk, I'd recommend not making a new thread for everything you want to post.  Try putting things like this in the off-topic topic, or videos like that valentines one in the Youtube Bonanza.  Not everything needs its own thread.

Skynet?

My god, it's becoming seamless... am I... skynet?
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

If this story interested you, you might be interested in reading up on other instances of this happening.

I wouldn't say it is common, but it does happen at least once or twice a year somewhere in Asia.

I'm interested and I'd like to know more.

Obviously none of you mine in Eve Online. You could have been dead longer than that before anybody noticed.

I would like to know more!  Unfortunately, my arm has been melted off in combat and I haven't gotten a metal replacement yet, so I'm having trouble operating a computer.

Ink was a winner that one time but the image broke!

I like your one-off topics.

Lots of opportunities for irreverence and fun! Keep doing what you do, Dirk. :D
