I do not want to write some sort of giant user manual for this thing, so I'm going to use a hypothetical person here. Let's call him Johann Thurgood.
One day, Johann decides to read Forum Games. He sees this cool new thread with "Clash of the Clans!" written on it, so he decides to join.
First, Johann posts in the thread with the following information:
    The name he wants to use as the leader of his "country." Johann chooses "Honajn."
    The title that Honajn is to be referred to with. "Supreme and Majestic Overlord Honajn" has a nice ring to it, don't you think?
    The name he wants for his initial city. He chooses "Me Caí".
    The weapon he wants his warriors to specialize in (Spear, Bow, or Four-Sword (coolest sword evar)). Johann likes bows. He gets an extra archer in his beginning force, and the research for Bows (Bows 50% cheaper, Level II 25% cheaper).
    The name of his commander. (You can choose one or choose between three different methods of random name generation, cleverly named One, Two, and Three.) Random Two gives him "Qye M'Rurg."
    The abilities of his commander. You get 5 points to put in these stats(max 2 per stat):
      Health (Johann puts two points here. Qye M'Rurg gets +10 HP)
      Attack (One point gets Qye an Advanced Four-Sword)
      Defense
      Morale (One point, all of Qye's troops get +1 to morale)
      Tactics (One point lets Qye use the Solar Formation. -2 enemy morale and a good position for Me Caí's famous archers.)
Confused yet? Don't worry, this mess might start to make sense with a little persistence! And remember, I'm the one doing all the work, you just point your soldiers at the enemy and order your peasants to build a Merchant Stall (10 gold per day, in case you were wondering).

Also, when the game gets started, I'll answer one question about the "mechanics" of the game in the Daily Update (who attacked who, etc.)

So, some stuff happened including people, Christmas, and חנוכה.
Right, everybody starts with 100 gold (not much at all), 50 people, and a small group of warriors. All you need to do is send me a message that says "My army is going to go in some direction and my serfs are going to build something." Later you'll actually know where things are.
Some topics of interest:
Idle peasants generate 1 gold per day. So you start with +50/day. This can be increased drastically with buildings.
Every 10 peasants will mysteriously generate one person per day, regardless of their jobs. So you start with +5/day. This can be increased slightly with buildings.
There is water to the west of Sim-city, a rather unremarkable town... or is it?
There is water to the north of Savos, a town surrounded by mountains to the south and east.
There is water to the south of Reme, a town next to a forest. There is not a little house in the forest.
There is water to the east of the Whil Estates, a grassland town. There is also not a little house in the plains.
Savos gets a free windmill as a monument to the greater glory of the people. Swords produced in Savos lack the bonuses provided by regular four-swords, but they're very cheap to produce. (CHANGED)
Merchant stalls cost 75 gold and three crates of supplies.
Merchant huts cost 250 gold and five crates, and are better than the wagon variety.
Earthen ramparts cost 100 gold and one crate.
Wooden ramparts cost 200 gold and ten crates and are better than the dirt variety.
You don't need to worry about anything else yet. Because I'm easily distracted and it took like two weeks to get this far.

screw it, i'll accept the idea of some amorphous "gold" even though my comrades ('peasant' is a derogative term used by the now extinct pirate nobility) can simply build things for their own use in a logical manner and don't need money.. i'll just say it's the resources i have access to.

anyhow, the Workers build a real windmill to thresh grain.  it should improve living conditions and give an extra point or two of pop growth.  you can decide the price, and if it's above 100 we'll just build the merchant stall.

Also: when you say there ISNT a house in the forest near Reme, do you mean there ISNT a house ( ;) ) or there isn't a house ( :( )

Edit: screw it! Send the soldiers to explore the forest and investigate the ghost house. in the mean time the Plebs can get started on a merchant stall.

I guess you can forfeit your (non four-) swords bonus for extra production efficiency(fewer Workers need to work to finish a building by the next day). When I design an industrial building line, you'll get a happy fun good time windmill. And after that I'll work on research, and then ships, and then natural resources, and then assassins diplomats et cetera.

Today's updates: The "world" map and the industrial building line are mostly finished. All of your starting proletarians found a crate of supplies under their beds this morning, so you all get 50 crates. Industrial output is measured in crates.
The Industry line starts with the humble farm. Cost: Twenty gold, one crate.
The Industry line starts doing useful things with the humble windmill. Cost: Three hundred gold, ten crates.
A reminder: Leng gave up weapons research for a windmill. Unless he's decided to join the rest of the class, but a windmill is a pretty good trade.

Today's update: Time has started again! Jubilation!
New things: Mysterious objects and native tribes. Well, the villages were there before, but this is the first time anybody's gotten close to one.
There might be some problems with numbers and such -- these things tend to happen when the world disappears.

Also, if you want some stats, tell me and I'll copy and paste a bunch of random numbers into a PM.

Today's Updates: Fleshed out Tech Levels II and III a bit. Still no Research capabilities. Also, you can establish a military base if you want, which is sort of like a city with no population growth and limited technology.
Today's News: The first village-city interaction occured today, with the Bama tribe.
Today's Question: Nobody has ever asked a question about the game. So you get no answers.

Double update! Yay!

See above for the Military Base.
Also, the distance that your troops can march per day has been not only standardized, but doubled. There's also a new unit based on the distance that your cavalry can march, which is exactly 3/2 the other distance. Refer to the units as you will.

Good news:The Miscellaneous buildings exist now.
What you need to know:
Training Hut: 100 gold, 10 crates. Lets you train your villagers to become more efficient at defense and such. It also lets your leaders gain abilities.
Research Area: 100 gold, 5 crates. Lets you research stuff: remember, you can research Four-Swords, Bows, Spears, or Tech Level I. Each level 0 tech reduces the cost of the next level slightly, but researching the next level directly cuts the prices of previous tech in half.

Also, I'll probably commandeer a page on the Spore Wiki for this. Because otherwise it won't make any sense. I guess it's vaguely Spore-related, not that anyone edits the wiki anymore.

The bad news: The main island is full. You can get boats at level I, though. Yay.
