Listen, I know we have food related threads. This is a thing I am aware of, collectively, along with all of you. I appreciate their noble existence and respect their topical domain. This goes beyond that, though. This is not merely about the eventual heart attacks we will give ourselves someday with our experimental cookery. This is for a more specific confectionery purpose. This is for pie.
I want to make pie.
At my family's thanksgiving dinner, my dad homemade chocolate pecan pie for about the third year in a row. For the third year in a row, it was delicious and lasted all too short a time in my mouth. The chocolate pie filling was soft and warm with a tender texture that was complimented by the solid pecans on top and every bite was like tongue nirvana I am not even exaggerating.
And then it was over, and all the pie was gone.
I can't wait another year for this, and I can't just stick with one kind of pie. I need to explore the boundaries of pie, and I want to document this (pictures, definitely. Possibly video as well).
I've started going on the treadmill more often, and I'm only going to be making them occasionally, so I'm going to try being careful about my weight throughout all this, but still...pie...I've gotta make this happen.
I imagine I am not alone in this, so believe me, this adventure does not have to be a solo event. If you, too want to go on this pie adventure as well, make pies, post updates, recipes, and suggestions, etc..., you are perfectly welcome to. In fact, I encourage it.
I will try to keep you all updated.
(I'm probably going to start off with Key Lime, because I don't believe I've ever had it, and it sounds delicious.)
