I will have to look at that in more detail soon. However I opted to try and chase Mr Wizard to Jool with a four rover unmanned mission... spent all the time getting there using TLAR* orbital calculations, some aerobraking that almost ended the mission, only to find out that the stupid rovers would not undock from the ship once I was in position over Laythe (yes, I forgot to test the design).

Aerobraking from 9000 m/s

You can try a manual separation, by which I mean, fall into Laythe at a steep angle, and deploy the parachutes at 2000m up. Hopefully the parachutes will rip the rovers clean off the body when they deploy. You'll need to hit [ or ] as soon as they rip off and you should be able to see if they broke off cleanly. You'll want to point the rocket directly forward so the mass of the rocket destroys the central stem holding them all together.  :D

MetallicDragon, the epic saga of Lud moves me deeply.

And Wizard, you've totally gotta save that guy, or at the very least send him some company.

Before 0.19 came out I made a bucket list to try to do, but it kind of fell by the wayside while playing with 0.19. I've been updating the blog some now that I've restarted it. The list is basically tasks that need to be done for every planet and moon (as well as Kerbol star). Some things on the list are not possible (you cannot have a synchronous orbit around Mun, you can't have a base on Jool, etc). Last night I ticked off a few of the boxes, including getting a satellite around Eeloo, landing a probe on Gilly, and getting a polar sat around Mun.

The list has something like 224 possible (probably less as I find some limits with SOIs and such). I'll get a screenshot of it up soon. Until then, here is Eve-rise from Gilly.

Next time I go to Jool, I'm bringing more fuel... dun, Dun, DUN!

I have been taking a break from KSP before I burn myself out. Even then, I just limited myself to making a recreation of the Saturn V rocket called the Jool 5.

It doesnt have Mechjeb autopilot, the only piloting assistance is the stock A.S.A.S on the launch stage.

I based it off these very Kerbal blue prints.

I have successfully tested every stage, landing and returning from the mun. I didn't document it all, since it's more of the same stuff I've been posting everywhere. I did do some precision landing with it though. There is of course, only one destination for any Apollo-style moon landing.

I'll post the craft file later when I have the time.

EDIT: And here it is!
Download it and go to the "How To Use" section for my 45 step guide to flying it to the Mun. :D

So I am still taking a break guys. Really I am.

I only built this replica of the soviet moon rocket.

Man, this break from KSP, is so draining. :Y
