Jeese man if you're just going to post stuff you found browsing imgur at least give some explanation.

Someone apparently asked 30 people to draw the world from memory and then combined the images.

The sort of 'remastered' version is a bit weird since it was probably chopped together in photoshop and they left in details from the satellite images that clearly wouldn't have been present in the original drawings.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

I thought it was kinda obvious, with the different layers overlapping and stuff.

The terrain is artistic license.
