S.P.A.C.E.
« on: July 03, 2011, 12:18:10 am »
The Eve of the Twenty Second Century.

Knowledge has increased and a new Era of Peace has been established under a potent United Nations.

The people are celebrating the dawn of yet another year of continued prosperity.

Little do they know of the myriad hidden evils lurking in the deepest shadows, planning, biding, until the one Day of Chaos where they will completely consume the world...

But that's where we come in.

S.P.A.C.E., a clandestine international agency devoted to safeguarding the world from the forces of discord and prevent the Day of Chaos from ever reaching fruition.

Led by the benevolent yet enigmatic Diastima, and aided by his right hand man and financial backer Jack Knight, the organization employs a vast array of mundane, as well as not-so-mundane assets, to battle the forces of evil!

S.P.A.C.E. is not the only one, however. There are other rival agencies also at play, some friendly, some not so much. A select few might even be out to destroy S.P.A.C.E. itself.

Can S.P.A.C.E. survive and save the world from destruction?

Only time will tell...

The object of the game is to dispatch your roster of special agents, called Numbers, into a variety of Missions spread across the globe.

Each Number is unique and has their own individual abilities and quirks which could either work for, or against, their enemies, allies, as well as the objective at hand.

As time passes, your Numbers will grow organically, both in Skill as well as Traits. You may even encounter potential new agents as Numbers carry out their missions.

Skills are the list of proficiencies and powers which an agent possesses. This can range from something as mundane as being an extremely good shot to being capable of making things explode with a mere thought. Take note that agents of S.P.A.C.E. are primarily oriented towards, as the name implies, space-based abilities.

Traits are what makes each agent a unique person, as well as establish the level of synergy that can be produced by a certain combination of agents. Traits can also help an agent achieve certain mission objectives. A detective will be better suited to investigation than a fighter.

Be aware, however, that your agents can be injured, or even taken out, during missions. The former would render them unusable for a period of time while the latter would remove them from play permanently.

Each Mission is also one of a kind, and will present a variety of challenges and potential benefits to your agency, so judicious allocation of your Numbers is a must.

Most missions can be categorized either as Combat, Investigation, or Recruitment.

Combat generally involves fighting a known target or adversary. This can range from local warlords to cosmic-level threats.

Investigation deals with uncovering mysterious events or circumstances and handling each one appropriately.

Recruitment follows an individual with the potential to become a new special agent as well as what it takes to convince him to join your cause.

That's about all you need to know, for now...

S.P.A.C.E. Agent #002 - Adil bin Saif

An otherwise perfectly average highschool student hailing from Davao, Philippines, Adil was recruited into S.P.A.C.E. after a chance encounter with the Chief and Vice Executives, who were then conducting a personal investigation on an anomalous bombing incident in the city. Adil was caught in the middle of a fight between the Executives and a primary suspect for the attack. Nearing death, he was revived by the Chief Executive, after which his power was awakened and he promptly aided in the enemy's apprehension.

Since then, Adil has been one of S.P.A.C.E. most powerful and trusted agents.

S.P.A.C.E. Agent #003 - Matthew Mendehlson

A distinguished member of the European Optical Society, Professor Matthew Mendehlson has been a close friend and ally of the Vice Executive even long before the establishment of S.P.A.C.E. The Swedish-born scientist began to manifest his powers after being involved in an attempted terrorist attack in Stockholm by an unknown non-mundane faction. The professor was then made aware of the S.P.A.C.E.'s existence, after which he joined the organization as a researcher, as well as a field agent on an on-call basis.

Mission #001 - Lingering Discontent

TYPE: COMBAT

Intel reports of a nascent anti-UN organization called the New Global Army currently known to be gathering forces in five hidden bunkers located all across Eastern Afghanistan. The group is bent on destabilizing the fragile state of peace that has been maintained within the region for the past thirty years. To do this, they are planning a full-scale assault on various major cities across the area. They will utilize a combination of infantry, IFVs, tanks and ballistic missiles to strike these cities from the outside, as well as within, potentially inflicting major casualties to the civilian population and infrastructure. Undercover agents within the NGA have yet to discover the source of the NGA's rather unlikely equipment. There are reasons to suspect a less than mundane origin for the group's major assets.

Regardless of their origins, our agents must covertly eliminate the enemy's major military hardware and neutralize as much enemy personnel as possible.

New Global Army Assets

The New Global Army's assets rang from old yet functional equipment to surprisingly contemporary heavy hardware.

Most assets are gathered from the various dissident subgroups which make up the NGA, while whoever provided the organiation with their advanced equipment is still a matter of question.

While not as effective as contemporary equipment, they are authentic nonetheless and can take out an agent if he becomes too careless.

Mission #002 - Issues of Interest

TYPE: RECRUITMENT

A mission directly from Jack Knight.

There have been a rising number of anomalies detected in the Strait of Malacca. Vessels going through a certain region of the narrow pass have been running behind schedule by as much as several hours for the past two weeks despite perfectly favorable internal and external conditions. The Vice Executive suspects that there is a potential candidate residing within the area, and proposes that an agent be sent to search for, and potentially recruit the individual responsible for these events.

Assign #2 to Mission #1, and #3 to Mission #2.
Who are you again and why in the world would you expect anything resembling rationality or civility in youtube comments?
