This creature was called Kharnage,

I... I dunno how I should react to this.

All: O_O

OOC Notes:

We're kinda starting to form our very own universe with all of our extra-dimensional characters, eh.

Interesting.   :)

Vrin Homeworld: Carraash (Car-rash)

Have you ever gotten that feeling like your being watched? As if something is creeping in the dark and observing you, ready to pounce and flay your skin off? That’s the feeling you will get once you step out of your starship and set foot on the Vrin’s dark homeworld. You would look up and see the sky constantly shifting color like some type of beautiful dark aurora yet your instruments would be unable to comprehend what’s causing it, you would see the silhouette of some type of eldritch creature flying through yet it disappears before you can get a lock on it, strange voices constantly ring through your head, sounding like they are just beyond the periphery of your hearing, massive abominable looking statues look as if they may come alive any second and mutilate you, the architecture itself just looks…wrong, and of course there is the sound of thousands of sermons followed by a sudden yelp on a sacrificial altar.

This is Carraash, a massive temple to the Vrin’s Gods.

Most of the surface has either been industrialized or consecrated. Massive temple bases dot the surface where the clergy do their bloody rituals, underground, scheming sorcerer cults perform their craft, and back above Vrinish warriors and worshippers of the Gods constantly make their pilgrimage to this world. Carraash is home to many of the Vrins strongest clergy elements, serving as the closest thing to a central force that all of the normally fractious factions of Vrin answer to. The mentioned disciplinary hand, the Arch-Lord (High Warlords, a self proclaimed title basically.) all maintain a claim on this world, meaning no Vrin, no matter how ambitious, would dare attempt to take Carraash for himself. It is a holy world; considered neutral territory by all Warlords and all Vrin are duty bound to come to it's service during say an assault or a crusade.

Creations of the Sorcerer Cults

Homunculi: A horrid combination of grotesque rotting flesh and metal, animated by black psychic sorcery, the Homunculi is a truly horrid creation of the Sorcerers cults. While normal Vrin warbands tend to only possess a handful of them, it’s not uncommon for Sorcerer cults to possess entire armies of these monstrosities. Their forms vary to suit a variety of different roles, from basic ground units to serve as fodder to massive heavy support. Homunculi are created either from the enemies dead, their corpses sometimes taken apart to create new horrifying creations, or they have their parts grown individually from biological vats. Once prepared, the Homunculi’s flesh is crudely fused to technological systems to serve as the foundation for its reanimation. Once all systems are in place the final pieces of psycho engineered tech are installed and the black rights begin. Necromancers proceed with psychic techniques; their power and technology work in unison to bring the desired effect. The Homunculi is then programmed and prepared for its new tasks.

Carphyroghaus: One of the most mysterious creations of the Vrin Sorcerers, a group of Carphyroghaus is a prize for any Vrin warlord. These mysterious machines forms vary, satisfying the role that most types of heavy support vehicles (Tanks, mechs, ect) would fill. They constantly glow with alien energies and their joints, exhausts, and visual optics constantly seem to spark and burn, belching out smoke and foul waste, indeed the entire machines looks as if some type of power is just waiting to burst out and explode like a nuclear bomb. While most races would classify a this machine as some type of A.I guided war droid, it’s actions and fighting style, heck, the way it moves just seems to just seems to defy such claims.

The way it might bite a creatures head off and seemingly drink blood from its neck or perhaps its nasty habit of constantly screaming out alien curses in black tongues, or perhaps the sheer viciousness it shows in battle just seems to go beyond the psychological warfare strategies a simple robot could be programmed with. Destroyed Carphyroghaus have so far revealed little about their inner workings. Conventional science just sees a hulk of foreign metal with weapons strapped on to it with absolutely no signs of a power source or central control systems. The secrets to creating Carphyroghaus are well kept the Sorcerer cults who possess them.

Homunculi:

Those Sorcerers remind me of the Necromancers from Warcraft.

Never entered a major fight without one, since it pays to have reinforcements plucked straight from the ground.   ;)

or perhaps its nasty habit of constantly screaming out alien curses in black tongues,

How ungentlemanly!

(kinda) Ork tech FTW!   ;D

The Vrin don’t have tiny boarding pods to launch small squads into ships…

They have entire destroyer sized ships dedicated solely to boarding…

Because boarding is FUN!

There’s only so much entertainment you can milk out of an endless impersonal beam span battle between starships.

Impaler Class Boarding Vessel

”Wait, I think those are boardi- WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!”

The Vrin are not inclined sit inside the fortified command bunkers of their starships. A true devotee to the Old Gods does not rest so easily; not without a way to gut the heretic, not when something as insignificant as hundreds of kilometers through cold, hard, vacuum stands between him and the heathens who dare cower from true glorious battle.

Each Impaler is created in a ritualized process of bonding between machine and "Outsider" symbiote. Melding alien psychic-reactive flesh with technology to create a craft designed to pierce into the heart of lumbering space craft. One to two kilometers long, each Impalers holds a small army and possesses equipment to functions as its own command posts when docked into the heart of massive installations.

The Impalers defensive and offensive functions work towards one goal: IMPALE!. Appearance wise, the Impaler basically looks like a large spiked rectangular rod with thrusters at the end with a large triangular spear like tip at the front. This spear tip is both the source of the Impaler’s frontal shielding and its primary means of piercing through the pesky shielding and armor that is likely to don its target. The spear produces a shifting increadibly intense gravitic field and is bolstered by psychic forces from within by the resident sorcerer(s).

The Impaler is launched from the largest vessels such as carriers or battleships and has a simple goal: Forward: Speed: IMPALE! Speeding past fighter escorts once it reaches a good distance and confirms its aim (Don’t want actually “miss” the ship) it puts all power towards it forward spear and thrusters and launches itself like screaming death towards its targets. Most commanders see a comet like blur before their craft shakes like it was hit by an earthquake and there informed that there being boarded.

Once imbedded the alien symbiote bonded to the Implaler begins to do its duty at the behest of the Demonologist. It begins to grow upon the boarded craft, merging it and the Impaler to prevent forceful removal and secure itself as a base of operations for the raiding party.

I'm probably bringing the Vrin into the galaxy sometime after the Nameless invasion. I'll reboot Darkness Amongst the Stars and edit the OP to fit the RG.

Oh, and if for some reason your imagining a rape metaphore between an Impaler and Variable Fortress: Vara Orealyianis... don't worry that funny thought entered my head as soon as I finished writing this.

WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD!

Quote from: Let's Play Risk (LP Archive)
Seeking to quench his endless appetite for conquest and vegemite, General Ironicus again ordered his men to form ranks and attack the isolated Clambodian forces in Australia.
Decider Roomforthetuna braced himself to resist, but deep inside he knew that, secretly, he wanted this battle more than anybody.
As Ironicus advanced, The Decider made a show of trying to retreat. General Ironicus was not fooled, he knew how the enemy general really felt. The look in his eyes told him everything.
He advanced his force swiftly, pinning the enemy commander down. Roomforthetuna resisted at first, but then, his eyes catching sight of Ironicus' firm and stiffening formation, slowly felt his defense give way. Behind his facade, he yearned for the mighty foreign general to break through his pickets and penetrate his lines, deeply.
Sensing his opponent's weakness, Ironicus moved swiftly to expose his flanks. Then, having repositioned for maximum effect, he ordered a swift and unexpected thrust with his massive, rigid column, straight into Roomforthetuna's rear.
The Clambodian commander reeled at the force of the first blow, but could not bring himself to resist. Again and again Ironicus thrust his force forward, each time penetrating deeper, and deeper into his helpless quarry's shuddering lines, until he felt the last of his main defenses fall away, leaving The Decider helpless before his conqueror.
Perhaps tomorrow he would be sorry, ashamed of himself for having let his adversary so coarsely advance on his field of battle. But for now, in the fiery heat of battle, Roomforthetuna could only think of one thing; this was the best engagement he'd had in his entire life.
On and on it went, the two nations' armies parting, then pulling each other forcibly again into another passionate bout of feverish warmaking.
Finally, in one last mighty climax, Decider Roomforthetuna succumbed completely to the General's burning lust for victory, and collapsed in exhaustion at the feet of his new master.

Take it as you will. ;) Its not as funny when the thing rams straight into your command ship and there are a bunch spikey armored warriors running around slaughtering your D00DZ.

Yes yes. I made a rape joke. Lets move on.

Maybe describing it as a rod was bit too much?

*put's on sunglasses*
...things to come to a head...
YEAAAAHH!

Edit: But seriously, let's get back on track.

*sprays drink all over monitor*

That was... enlightening.

I myself would imagine it to be more like a mating ball, actually.   :3

Indeed, we should really stop tapping the subject, lest we go for another round.

If we went ahead with junk like this, we'd be screwing ourselves. We'll take the discussion to a place it's never been before! By working long and hard at hammering our point into the ground, the whole shebang should arrive at a climax where we come together in our moment of glory.
Also, sex joke.
