When a Stranger calls.
« on: January 26, 2006, 05:40:11 pm »
When I first saw the trailer for this I thought it was a commercial for a made for TV movie, or a TV series on urban legends, or some cheesy warning to parents about never leavings your kids with a babysitter. Then I saw that it was a movie, and I sat there staring.. this has to be a joke.. this is a joke..

Now I assume everyone knows the basics of the movie. If you don't then you've been living under a rock your entire life and you need to hear more urban legends.
Regardless, spoilers:

So now I don't know if this is a remake of the 1979 version or not. But regardless am I the only one who thinks the movie will be terrible? The 1979 version was nothing to write home about. (for those not familiar with that version, the actual babysitting sequence takes part during the first 20 or so minutes of the movie, the rest is them tryiung to solve it) And everyone is familiar with the urban legend. I honestly can't see why they would remake this.

Anyone else feel this way?

I new that movie would suck. I don't see movies in the theater unless I'm sure I'll like it.

They just keep turning out too much crap to take a chance.

Just curious have any of you actually seen this movie or are all these comments from the hearsay of other people?
What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

I have been told
not by one but two of my lovers
that I've got a heart of gold
but I'm unable to share it with others
They call me a poet who'll never have a poem
a tiger with no taste for bone
I'm the wonderful wonderful wizard who's waltzing alone

From my favorite review:
"This is a movie the way radio static is a song."
