Pff, enjoy your Skyrim with Jill Sandwiches.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

Here's the (unofficial, slightly improved) Legend of Zelda medley from the beginning of Nintendo's talk: http://www.zreomusic.com/2011/06/07/e3-2011-legend-of-zelda-overture-remastered.

I'm kinda disappointed that the Wii never got a Pikmin game (unless you count the pikmin 2 port), really kinda of lame that it decided to skip a console generation. Hopefully the Wii U is keeps its promises about being as good as they say.

Sorry for the double, but I feel this is worth posting.

http://venturebeat.com/2011/06/08/nintendo-admits-e3-wii-u-reel-used-ps3-and-xbox-360-clips/

If it could not have been demonstrated on its own merits, then it simply did not need to be shown yet. I don't think its a good idea to show clips from your competitors while saying, "we promise our games will look like theirs!"

Reggie admitted this plainly and simply yesterday. There's no problem here. The system is still at least a year away and a production model hasn't been finalized. I can see how video games become markedly less entertaining when you dedicate even a moment of your time to hating the competition for arbitrary reasons. You're just a hater, Gorman. Plain and simple.

And haters gonna hate.

Plus, at one point or another, most of the major console companies did something similar.
The comment thread here has some examples.

My hate is reasonably founded for the wii and I stated my reasons why, I don't hate the Wii U, I just think that was a terrible mistake because even if the console does end up looking like its competition then its still 7 years late in that department. If the Wii U is not due until after next E3 (which it seems that way) then wouldn't of it been a better idea and wait and show it off..when you can actually show it off?

I'm aware of little kings story, but that's a poor substitute, its like complaining that there's no Pokemon so someone points you to Digimon.

Of course not! This whole show is for the shareholders. The fact that gamers watch is just an opportunity to cement preorders.

those are pour examples,
example 1,
mr game and watch compared to DS,
yes both have 2 screens, but ds is touch screen,

next up,
powerglove vs. wiimote?
.....honestly?

can't comment on virtual boy vs 3ds as i didn't own either of them,

but this last one is the worst of all,
as the WiiU controllers aren't separate game systems on their own,
I think it'd be better compared to Dreamcast / VMU, since the controller for the dreamcast had a screen, and could be played as a separate game system and yet still only be part of the dreamcast,

I think the joke is that Nintendo is going back and improving their old ideas now that they have the technology to do them right.
