About

Do you know all about The Webcomic? I have been thinking much about the capacity that we as forum members have in starting our own small webcomic. And I think I have developed a system that could work. Now we know that we are limited in artists, hence I will offer my resources to illustrate. Gauphastus, Great Distance, Flisch, and a few others are welcome to illustrate too.

But the greatest resource we really have is the material. Everyone is welcome to offer material to be made into a comic. All of you, the members of Gaming Steve, are invited to write the dialogue and storyboards while the artist fills it in with pretty pictures. This will be our brainstorming and suggestion box. You or a partner can create small skits, dramatizations of forum situations, political cartoons or references to pop culture. Anything that comes to mind. It's a comic about anything and about nothing. But I would highly encourage you draw new inspirations than to do something already tried. What will remain on a somewhat consistent basis is that this comic will loosely be based on us and forum members will be the characters in the comic. Either a comic from forum history or something entirely made up. We will gather them together, have them screened and judged by a group of chosen editors, and shipped off for post-production illustration.

So please discuss. Please note this topic is for the sole purpose of discussion, brainstorming and suggestions. This won't be an art gallery or metagame/role-playing thread.

Submission Template

Here is an example when giving a submission. Use of images or sketches is optional, but is recommended.

Quote
Panel 1

Red text guy approaches from foreground, back towards panel, to blue text guy standing off in the distance looking badass, facing red text guy.
Red Text Guy: Bluh bluh bluh bluh.

Panel 2

Panel focus dramatically on blue text guy. blue text guy brandishes gun at red text guy, pointed left-foreground.
Blue Text Guy: Bluh bluh.

Panel 3

Panel focus on red text guy looking nervous. Weapon is at foreground pointed to red text guy, blue text guy holding gun but off panel.
Red Text Guy: Bluh bluh bluh
Blue Text Guy: Bluh

Make a comic about how we don't have any followthrough which will eventually cause this project to go down in flames. :D

What about a comic about how we (not you) are bad at writing comics.

I for one would like to see a webcomic that features the Pope piggybacking on Lady Gaga whilst Gec shepards a herd of mules into a chasm; as would many of my collegues.
