City of the Dead-OOC
« on: January 14, 2011, 10:10:37 pm »
What is this?: A post-apocalyptic RP. The apocalypse? Zombies.

Where?: The action in the RP itself would take place in a small city.

When: About 2014.

What's the Character Profile?:
Name: Duh.
Age: Duh.
Weapon(s) of choice: Can be something custom or real, melee or ranged. It could be a chainsaw, it could be an assault rifle, I don't care. Just remember that any weapon would have disadvantages to it too. Maximum number of weapons is three (And I don't mean a gatling gun, a chainsaw, and a rocket launcher. Keep it real. Some average Joe is only gonna be able to carry so much.)
Bio: This is pretty much optional. Tell whatever you'd like about your character, any quirks, any background information that may answer a question about a specific weapon or something.
Occupation: Again, optional. The only real merrit to this would be if your character was a soldier or something else that would have a drastic impact compared to the other characters.

Location: Most of the characters (well, at least mine :P) are at a well-established stronghold on the eastern edge of the town.

City Map: *PENDING*

CHARACTER LIST:
User: GroxGlitch
Name: Ian Oberik.
Age: 24
Weapons of Choice: Furious Dawn (a custom-ordered 9 mm Gyrojet assault rifle. Bought by his grandfather for his 22nd birthday.), Beretta 3032 Tomcat (.32 ACP handgun)
Bio: A young man who was looking for a job when the outbreak hit. He was quite the firearm enthusiast before the outbreak, owning a Beretta 3032 handgun and firing it at a local range virtually every weekend. On his 22nd birthday, his grandfather gave him a gift that is quite special to him; a custom ordered Gyrojet rifle. Once the outbreak hit two years later, he finally got the chance to fire the gun full automatic. He's upgraded the gun quite a bit, equipping it with a silencer and an variable-length stock. He's rather open to helping others, and more often than not shares his spare supplies with the children of the stronghold.

User: Galactic Warrior
Name: Jonathan Terrance

Age: 37

Weapon(s) of choice: Remington 870 shotgun, M1911 pistol, Machete. Both firearms are silenced.

Bio: Terrance, as his friends call him, was a somewhat quiet man who used to own a gun shop in a small town in Texas before the outbreak. He and one other person managed to escape the town in his pickup truck after a large zombie horde overran it while chasing a survivor from a nearby city. Terrance eventually reached the less zombie infested American west coast, but the other survivor died along the way. He now has set up a small, but well fortified base in a mountain range, where zombies have difficulty reaching the higher parts of it. He has set himself up with the small amount of equipment and supplies he brought with him and some he scavenged during his journey, including a old radio, which he uses in a attempt to find other survivors. In order to allow other survivors to find his base, he left a trail of signs telling where to go.

User: Badger Man 22
Name: James Cordroy
Age: 42
Weapon(s) of choice: AR15 (at 'home'), H&K G36, SIG P226, RPG-29 Vampir (at 'home'), Recon 1 Knife, MMA
Occupation: Black Ops Marine
Location: Western Side of Town, in a Motel 6.

User: Flamester_
Name: Jason Venrik
Age: 26
Weapon(s) of choice: Colt 2000 9mm Pistol, 12 Gauge Defender Winchester Shotgun  (35mm Arpad 600 Close Support Weapon if approved)
Bio: One of the first people to join the stronghold. He keeps things working by jury-rigging fixes, making sure things aren't falling apart, and maintains a small garden for emergency food supplies on the roof.

User: munchkin5
Name: Mickey O’Conner
Age: 63

Weapons of choice:
-Heckler & Koch G3 w/ extended mags, lengthened barrel and detachable scope.
-Engraved “Dirty Harry” Smith and Wesson Model 29 presentation revolver.
-Hunting knife.
-Various other weapons he hardly uses except, and most notably, the MG3 mounted on the roof his house.

Bio: Mickey was born into a low income Irish American family in 1951 and grew up among his father’s friends from the local Irish Mob fraternity. He dropped out of high school early with no qualifications and joined the marines at 18 to fight in Vietnam and served two tours, one in ’69 the other two years later in ’71. After his return he couldn’t find work and made his living stealing and working as muscle for his father’s bosses, this resulted in a 3 year prison sentence in ’78 for assault, a month before he got out his father died from chronic liver failure due to his excessive drinking. After prison Mickey used his connections to expand a small time arms dealing operation his father had been in charge of in order to get hold of contraband Cold War military hardware and sell it unlicensed to the city’s underworld. He perfected his trade and carried on his work amidst a series of failed marriages that resulted in his only son Freddie. This was until the zombies arrived and he now serves as a vital hub of post apocalypse arms supplies and expertise as a trained combat vet and gunsmith. He lives and works in his three story home/shop/basement workshop, with his son and apprentice Freddie.
Occupation: Ex. soldier, unlicensed arms dealer and career criminal.
Location:In his shop, not far from the eastern stronghold, it’s built alone on a fenced lot with his apartment above and basement below and is now heavily fortified. It’s connected to the stronghold by sewer maintenance tunnels that have been cleansed of the zombies and blockaded.

User: PatMan33
Name: Carson Melbourne

Age: 22

Weapon: .308 bolt action rifle, wooden baseball bat, pocket multitool

Bio: Carson is a fairly-normal college student, or at least he was before things went bad. He had a girlfriend, a part-time job, and an 18 credit semester. On weekends he enjoyed spending time on the Internet or hanging out with friends at the bar, and every now and again he'd venture out to the range to get better with his rifle. Nowadays Carson spends his time trying to figure out what to do with his life, so not much has changed since college. He's often conflicted about whether or not he should be enjoying things to extent that he does. It tears him up that most of his family and friends are gone, but part of him had always been preparing for a zombie-filled apocalypse and when it actually happened he just kind of fell into his role. Though, Carson would still much rather be shooting imaginary zombies on his computer than dealing with real ones. The old days were absolutely better. At least now he has plenty of time to master the fifty yard shot.

Occupation: Part time data entry associate

User; Raz
Name: Jerry Arlenta

Age: 22

Weapon: M4 Carbine(ACOG), M9, M9 Bayonet-Knife(Mountable on M4 or handheld)

Occupation: Army Combat Medic

Bio: Jerry Arlenta, otherwise known as Specialist Arlenta, served two years in the United States Army, until the zombies began eating humanity's rear end. Pulled back from a deployment in the Middle East as part of the military's emergency strategic retreat to bolster the defense forces of the continental US and Hawaii, Arlenta promptly discovered that his medical training wasn't quite useful against undead-inflicted wounds, and that the Army's new version of "treatment" was a round to the head followed by burning.

Specialist Arlenta and his unit were first tasked with defending the refinery a few hundred miles from the city, to ensure that the refinery continued to operate smoothly. Arlenta and other soldiers gathered the workers of the refinery and their families, moving them to temporary shelters within the defensive line. There, with routine supply drops of food and ammunition, the military managed to hold out a few months, until a bunch of civilians seeking safety within the walls blew a number of holes in the wall with improvised explosives(All who approached had been warned to stop and turn around. If not, they were shot. The explosive-wielding civilians managed to sneak past the patrols.). The explosions called the attention of zombies for miles around, who came charging for the refinery. Within a day of fighting, the soldiers broke and ran as the hordes overwhelmed them.

Arlenta and a few other soldiers managed to regroup and survive for the next two years, slowly picked off by the zombies, until Arlenta was left wandering alone. He eventually took up residence in one of the city strongholds, providing what medical care he could to the survivors.

Can we cut a few weapons? The max was supposed to be 3, you're guy's lugging around seven.
Though I suppose that if he's in his fortress, that would be ok, because he ain't running around.
Just to make it fair, if he leaves the stronghold, pick only three weapons to take, ok?

Yeah I was only planning on him having the Butterfly Knife and MMA (mixed martial arts by the way) unless otherwise stated. The other two weapons are chosen occasionally.
