Topic: Has anybody ever played SimEarth?

The main thing I didnt like is that every time i made a planet, my planet had about 90% to 98% water, and only 2% to 10% land (Literally!)

Any clue as to how to get around that?

or volacanoes... just make a huge continent in the middle

I always switched it to god mode, never really "played" the game but played in its sandbox-ness. Carnivorous plant civilization, ho!

Startopia was fun, I wish you could've had more to do outside your station... or make a linked empire of them. The Greys freak me out.

I tried SimLife for about a week but couldn't make it work. I think I'll find it again someday....

That I'm reccomending a kid's game (Ages 9 and up!!) is embarrasing. There is a "create-a-critter" mode, which I will definately have to check out.

Yeah i've played it (which isnt to say that I own it!!!!!) and it was mighty easy, but quite fun as well. As far as I remeber the creat-a-creature just gave you a few creature models, you changed the size and colour and chose its eating habits etc, spore it aint.

Yeah, that was cool, the combat ruined it for me though and once you had your pleasure deck running well and it got big the aliens just totally ignored some of the (even really good) buildings, it was kind of annoying.

Theres another little-known Maxis game that combined with SimEarth and SimLife make a perfect combo for Spore. It's called 'Unnatural Selection', where you play a mad scientist who makes creatures and pits them against other creatures. It's on home of the underdogs as well.
