Fears, phobias?
« on: December 12, 2010, 01:54:30 am »
Here we write about what scares us.
For the record, if anyone says clowns is their biggest fear, i'll scream. Thats just hype.

My most significant irrational fear is corpses, or necrophobia, but that is more general.
Not too uncommon a phobia, i'm sure.

Claustrophobia, which for me is more of not having an easy method of exit from a space, and a fear of swimming in water over twenty feet deep.

I have no irrational fears. I am fearless. Fearless.

Couple this with my lack of allergies.

I am God.

Deep, open waters.

Staring straight down at it from above, especially when at night, on a plane, in the middle of the freaking ocean. Gah, I hate that!  :(

It gives me that "completely swallow you up if you fall into me" kinda feel.

And yes, claustrophobia. Especially when combined with the one above.

Deep, murky, and extremely violent sewage-filled rivers anyone?

Do you know what hype is?

Also, this.

I used to be absolutley terrified of clowns when I was a kid, but got over it when I discovered they sometimes give you free stuff.

Wasps make me flip out.  Understandable considering some of my past experiences with them.  On rare occasions I can kinda get spooked by extreme heights but not usually.

Also pufferfish.  Those things have eyes that bore right into your soul.

Looking up usually gives me the feeling that tall buildings are leaning towards me, but it doesn't bother me too much.

Other than that I can't really think of anything.

I don't have a phobia of them but I can totally understand this. Only people stung by them can know. Especially if stung when kids.
I had the great experience, as a kid, of somehow getting a wasp trapped INSIDE MY SOCK. It only started stinging me once we were halfway to our shopping destination. Halfway on the walkback, my mother finally took notice of my complaints that my foot hurt too much to walk, and thats when she found the wasp inside. Man did it hurt. It can't have been stinging me -constantly- but it must have been butt-stabbing out in random directions whilst spazzing around in there. How it actually managed to get in there, i'll never know...

I have only ever been stung by wasps in very tender spots.  The palm of my hand, twice.  Bottom of my foot.  One flew up my shorts once.  One flew up my sleve while biking.  One stung me in the eye.

I'm a pretty cool guy and isn't afraid of anything.

However, Indiana Jones is afraid of snakes, so I am also afraid of snakes.
