Yeah, I'm with you there.
Skyrim, huh.. let's see.

Hmm. If I could remember anything about the lore, I could maybe tell what I'm in for.
Guess it'll be a surprise.

Haha.
That's what everybody keeps saying. I told a buddy on MSN about the news and he said the exact same thing. "so long as it isn't the same ****ing engine as the last game"

I'm reading it in the comments everywhere. All I can hope is that the dudes at Bethesda aren't blind or retarded so that they can see this.

It's not that I completely hated the engine, it's more that having exactly the game mechanics feels bland.

Interview from last month. I just heard about this now.

Howard wouldn't be drawn on many details about the game, but said the technology was derived from the engine that powered Fallout 3, albeit with significant modifications.

They're going to streamline the skills again.

Having separate skills for each weapon was too much for people in Morrowind, so they lessened it to just blade and blunt in Oblivion.  And now in Skyrim, you won't have to worry about what weapons you're using because you have a weapon skill that covers all weapons, including archery and hand-to-hand.  The new skills are going to be: Weapons, Armor, Stealth, Interaction (for everything you do with NPCs), Movement, and Magic.  Two levels for each skill.  Novice and Master.

And then Elder Scrolls VI you'll only have to choose between Fighter, Thief, or Mage and not have to worry about leveling any skills.

Elder Scrolls VII will be a movie directed by Uwe Boll.

well.

****.

I can't believe it.

I can understand why they'd use an ancient broken engine, they'll profit from it.

But why?

Why.
Why.
Why.
Why.
