God I hope they change their minds about streamlining the skills, the whole point of the series levelling system was that you levelled up by training the skills your class specialises in.

It just feels really lazy on their part, especially if combat includes ranged and melee. Also won't magic be ridiculously over-powered if it's all under one skill?
Wizard - " Aha I can summon a deadric lord, heal myself from the point of death, turn invisible, create an unbreakable shield and rain down giant fireballs on my enemies"
Warrior - "I can use a sword, an axe, a hammer and a bow"

If it lives up to the disappointment I don't think there will have to be a boycott, most people won't buy it anyway. If it's as lacklustre as it's shaping out to be

You honestly think this?

Here's my prediction - no matter what they throw at us, this game will be a big hit. No matter what.
No way dude, you're trolling me.

It's just that, we've seen time after time that boycotts never happen. Spore sold well, L4D2 sold well, MW2 sold well...

Why were the last two targeted for boycotting?

Also, mein gott you guys. The skill streamlining thing is JUST A RUMOUR. It has not been confirmed by anyone at Bethesda. Some chucklehead on /v/ probably said it as a joke and people believed him and started spreading it around.

L4D2 came out too soon after L4D. MW2 had no dedicated servers.

Really? That's mildly reassuring. The fact that they're also using a new engine means that's it could be either alright or blander than John Major.

My glass is half full.... half full of despair!

Most-retarded boycott ever. Suck it up, pussies.

MW2 had no dedicated servers.

Legitimate complaint. Too bad all Modern Warfare fans are retarded and don't know how a boycott works.

I'm not agreeing with those or anything. I'm just pointing out that I've never Sedna video game boycott that actually worked.

99% of boycotts don't work, mostly because people are stupid, selfish and have no real concept of future consequences. Why else would we have let the planet get into this state.

When it comes out people will buy the game no matter how insipid it is. In fact the only way it won't sell is if it actually contains real originality, depth and challenge - those things are commercial suicide in today's game industry.

For me if they massively improved the AI, say to the equivalent of a severely brain damaged gnat, gave combat a bit more polish (say what you will about oblivion's combat, at least you could use an unfamiliar weapon without missing 99 out of a 100 f***ing times) and reintroduced variety to the landscape then I'd buy it and probably enjoy it

The glass art full shouldst thou include the air in thine counting. Verily, I sayeth.
