Basically.

'Cept this is the big brother of the usual kind. How this is different from other kind is simple. The usual impactors just level a several hundred kilometers, if not somewhere around a thousand or so and break the mantle in that area, making it highly volcanically and likely geologically active. I dunno, I'm not a expert in this kind of thing.

What the Apocalypse-class impactor does is that its a wee bit bigger and has more mass for extra punch, And it has about 3 to 6 smaller impactors attached to it, depending on the size of the target. What it does (At least, I think it does) is when the impactors hit, it will shatter that whole side of the planet. From my guess, all 6 rods (not counting the main one) is gonna be used against the Assault Node.

Is the Assault Node far enough away from Kuuruk to use a Apocalypse-class impactor?

Yes.

Though I'd advise the guys to calculate the angle of impact to prevent the ship's fragments from entering Kuuruk's orbital path [kinda like how Mars fragments sometimes get into the Earth].

Sorry for double post, but damn, so those Nodes can be killed without the use of advance technology. You just need a lot of kinetic energy.

They're basically just like the Combine homeworld. One giant fortress with a warp drive and a couple of thrusters tucked in.

Yeah, like the Death Star or a Naucean Mother Sphere.

Saaaay, if the Nameless are called the "Nameless" and "Them," then those are names! Admittedly, the former makes little sense, but it's still a name! Heck, even "They Who Cannot Be Named" is a name! So why is the campaign story arc called "They Who Cannot Be Named?" You can't refer to something without naming it. Why not just call them, well, "Them?" General Robert E. Lee (if I'm not mistaken; it might have been Jackson) referred to Union forces as "those people." How about referring to "Them" as "those things?"

I'm just nitpicking here, there's no need to take notice.

I think its meant that they don't have "real" names like our races do.

But anyway, its nice to know that my races actually have something that can take down a assault node. I was beginning to think that my races' fleets would be next to useless once we get to Beyon.

Wait, the Combine have a MOBILE homeworld?

It's been almost a decade since the incident which resulted in their homeworld colliding with one of their dreadnoughts, partially glassing it and damaging its infrastructure.

We could only wonder as to what sinister modifications the Skrall have added to that battleship of a planet.  ;)

Short answer: Maybe, maybe not.

Saaaay, if the Nameless are called the "Nameless" and "Them," then those are names! Admittedly, the former makes little sense, but it's still a name!

The term "Nameless", as GW pointed out, is basically a promoted form of the adjective "nameless". A lot of people just got used to identifying them by that qualifier, so it pretty much stuck.

Oh, and it's intentionally semi-ironic on my part.  ;)

The title is actually a reference to a certain Tom Riddle, and how people are afraid to call him by name.

That and "Their" leader goes by the title of, I kid you not: One Who's Rank Is So High That Even His Rank Cannot Be Named Except By Himself.

I'm just nitpicking here, there's no need to take notice.

Nah, it's ok.  ;)

It's pretty fun, actually.  :)

I say we nickname him the Supreme Commander or Supreme Emperor. Depends on which fits more.

Sure, why not.  :)

Though, the first one reminds me quite a lot about the MAVOR. >_>

Ah, that Mavor. I first thought that when I saw it.

Also, is the Nameless fighters affected at all by the AI-assisted ECM jamming of the fleet?

Our villain of the day revolves around themes of sewing and looming.

He basically maintains command and control using those string-like things attached to his horde of minions. The jammers are doing their job perfectly, interfering with the relatively weak strings that the tier 1 mooks use to link back to their leader. This has, of course, pushed the villain into deploying his tier 2 mooks, which are basically large relay stations from the smaller ones, essentially restoring their reception.

As for what he'll do now that his node is broken...

 ;)

Also, you could probably guess by now how to efficiently take him and his entire force down, judging from how his army operates.
