They Who Cannot Be Named: Assault and Battery
« on: October 23, 2010, 02:46:15 pm »
Free Union Space, Kaivik System

The planets Kuuruk and Kiivck sat lonely in their tiny system, dancing around a middle-aged star. Then, a large object appeared, about the size of Kiivck. This, however, was no planet. It was a Nameless Assault Node. As the object loomed closer to Kuuruk, the sole inhabited planet in the system, there were some who began to take notice.

Nirulimuka, War Hall
The tension in the air could be felt as Kabalu's top military commanders discussed the course of action they recommended. Among the many items being discussed were the news of Drukl's death, the unexpected infiltration of the High Priest, and the fact that said priestn was working for the Nameless and loose on the P.S. Leviathan. As usual, Irbilika Falthus IV was present. However, there was less of an energy emanating from him than before. Anyone could tell that his age and his wounds from the war with Nirbalu were beginning to catch up with him. Those who could not tell from his eyes alone, noticed that the young princess, Mukri Falthus, stood at her father's side. She had recently come of age, and it was decided that she should learn what it was like dealing with the wars.

Headquarters of the Order of the Great Flame
Ever since Nirbalu's defeat in the war, the highest-ranking Paladins had been bound only to the code of their religion. To atone for the wrongdoings of the fallen and mend the damage from the battles, they had formed an order of holy warriors tasked with protecting the people while they rebuilt. They had recently begun to work quite closely with the Galdeen soldiers stationed on the planet, and even had access to a small group of private starships. All in all, they were concerned with how to deal with the threat looming overhead. At night, the Assault Node was spotted in a telescope. There was almost no mistaking it. A call had been made by both the Order and Kabalu to the Orealanyis, in the hopes of averting certain doom.

Kuuruk Orbit

The presence of the Assault Node had not gone unnoticed by the Stellar Republic and Hell-An Empire forces on the ground and space.

The space fleet, which consisted of the Republic's 12th War Fleet and the recently arrived 23rd War Fleet and the Empire's Fleet Tal'sev began organizing into a formation, which when formed, they would begin a near c. strike at the Assault Node.

The ground forces, which mainly consisted of Galdeen troops, began preparing for a siege, deploying the recently developed and rushed-into-service cold plasma shield domes which covered large swaths of Kuuruk's major cities, and were powered by shipped-in industrial fusion generators.

Republic Kuuruk Defensive Command, Kuuruk mountains

General Kraik sat in his chair amidst the controlled chaos that was his command center which was based in a thick mountain range. Everybody was running around and telling somebody to send something to somebody and giving reports of who is and isn't fully prepared for the expected siege.

After half-an-hour of listening and watching, he stood up and ordered in a loud commanding tone, "I want a message sent to Tal'man and Galieen. Tell them we have a Nameless Assault Node barring down on Kuuruk and we need immediate reinforcements."

Galieen, Stellar Republic capital

As soon as the message reached the Military High Command, a fleet was sent. This fleet had with them a Mark 3 Type 1 "Titan". They immediately used the star gate network to get to the gate that was closest to the Kaivik System. They joined up with a Hell-An fleet that has been sent to reinforce Kuuruk too. They would reach the planet in a standard galactic day

Kaivik System, Outer Fringe

The curtain of dotted lights, the sea of distant stars, was partly muffled in obsidian silence as the massive sphere's form obscured the previously magnificent view from the nearby world of Kuuruk.

For a brief moment, there was a cosmic reverberation in the fabric of existence as the ominous Nameless fortress anchored its lumbering presence to the local fabric space. As the last vestiges of the torrential warping of reality faded from one's senses, a more silent, continuous burr supplanted the former arrangement.

Slowly, but surely, the expansive spherical construct began to set course for the one sparkling gem within the fledgling system.

Kuuruk.

Somewhere, deep within the bowels of the Nameless vessel...

"My, my... It seems like this one will pose a somewhat, interesting scenario, compared to the previous target on the list...", A tall, vaguely illuminated silhouette mused to his lone self amidst a sprawl of holographic images which littered the chamber around him.

"Calculator.", it casually called out, lifting one of its arms to point at a Galdeen ship, or rather the projection of it. "These are, one of the primary belligerents back at the summit, yes?"

//Affirmative.//, came a deep and bellowing voice equally from all directions. //Stellar Republic. Type Three civilization noted for-//

The machine's words were cut short, however, when one of the figure's other arms swiped the hologram out of existence in a dagger-like motion, an action which truly fit its form.

"Thank you, calculator.", it followed. "That is all I needed to know in this instance."

//Your orders?//

A brief moment of silence filled the room as the being crossed all its arms and a very slight nod appeared on what seemed to be its talon-like face.

"Unleash the weavers."

Republic Kuuruk Defensive Command, Kuuruk mountains

The installation's many sensors noticed a brief spike from the Nameless Node's direction. As more and more systems began to notice the anomaly, a visible change in form began to take place in a small region of space above Kuuruk's skies.

Kaivik System, Outer Fringe

The Nameless Assault Node's previously obsidian visage began to take on an exceedingly brighter, almost prismatic form, as a swarm of glowing gates erupted on its vast surface. Slowly, numerous, towering, blade-like forms, all clad in white and pulsing with vein-like streaks of velvet, began to jut out from the field of conjured portals, accompanied by a thick cloud of diamond dust which equally sprang from the gates.

One by one, the blade-like entities lifted off the surface and began to enter orbit around the seemingly morphed Assault Node, the cloud of sparkling dust condensing into whip-like constructs which eagerly latched to the many ring-like projections which promptly formed all across the blades' glowing surface.

From afar, the swirling sphere of light was nothing but unusual. A colossal ball of string, ceaselessly wrapping around itself as it trudged on its path towards the Pentekonterus world of Kuuruk.

Nirulimka, War Hall
Mukri began to discuss matters of planetary defense with the generals after her father left. The main bright spot is that Kabalu's own fleet would soon be arriving from the distant shipyards in which they had been produced. Two galactic standard hours stood between the fleet and the planet it was meant to reinforce. Additionally, they would have the element of surprise. The general consensus, however, lay with General Mulluk. His plan was to allow the Galdeen fight most of the battle, then strike the final blow to the Assault Node when the fleet arrived. The twenty-five seconds that Siege missiles detonated after would be all that was needed, he said.

Fleet Tal'sev flagship, E.S.S. Victory, Titan-class

"What in the names of our ancestors did those Nameless do?!" Yelled the fleet commander, a Hell-An named Tal'sev, who the Hell-An Empire's fleet was named after.

"Unknown, fleet commander! We think it may have launched fighter-craft of some sort!" Yelled a sensor operator.

"Then launch all fighters with anti-interceptor loadouts! Launch the bombers and gunships too, have have some of the fighters escort them. They'll do a high speed strike on the Nameless ship. Send some missile destroyers to the outer system to do a impactor strike." Ordered Tal'sev. "Is the Nameless ship in range of long-range weaponry?"

The question wasn't answered for a moment as the chief sensor operator compared readings with the weapons officer, then the weapons officer turned to him. "Yes commander. The Nameless ship is in range of the Stellar Republic's plasma and particle weaponry along with their Mark 3s spinal-mounted mass drivers and our ion and laser cannons."

"Then what are we waiting for? FIRE!" Yelled Tal'sev.

Kuuruk orbital space

As the fleets' many anti-ship craft and several missile destroyers broke formation, large blobs and bolts of plasma, blue and orange lances of the defense fleets' beam weaponry and 1 ton shaped chunks of metal fired, all aimed at the Nameless Assault Node. The only weapon fired by them that was not seen was the laser weapons. The beam weaponry was the first to hit the Assault Node, quickly followed by the mass driver rounds, and then the plasma bolts and torpedoes.

There was a slight rumbling sound within the dark chamber as an untold volume of pure kinetic energy created from the Galdeen strikes raced across the craft's labyrinthine internal structure.

With what can conceivably be a smirk, the silhouette of a being spread its arms across the air as it leisurely scanned the battlefield's horizon, "As expected of someone capable of inflicting damage to Type Four armour..." Reaching for a small, stray projection, he clenched his pincer of a fist around it, prompting the appearance of several string-like holograms which began to divide upon themselves and formulate an ever-thickening crisscross lattice.

"Let this battle...", he chortled, positioning the vast array of appendages which seemed to be his arms all across the newly formed fabric. A euphonious alien chorus echoed across the entire vessel as the being's blade-like arms ran against the tangle of strings.

"... begin."

Outside, the once passive swarm of blades began to take a more malevolent string of maneuvers as a malicious and spasmodic dance took over the towering beings, seemingly in accordance with their mysterious conductor's rhythm.

Precisely, my little weavers...

One by one, the blades began to charge at the Republic's assembled fleet, prismatic strings in tow, though their purpose still unknown.

Show these lot the myriad harmonious discord that belies your nature...

Regardless, the swarm was quite effective in their chosen task, mostly evading fire while some others ironically caught them, though for the better of the Assault Node after them.

... and destroy them.

Fleet Tal'sev flagship, E.S.S. Victory, Titan-class

"We have incoming interceptor-sized objects coming at high speed! Point of origin is the Nameless vessel!" A sensor operator yelled as a new series of alarms went off.

"Open up with gauss and UV laser point defense turrets! Get the ECM drones up! Tell the bomber and gunship formations they are clear for strike! And where in the hells are those impactors?!" Tal'sev yelled through the noise.

Kuuruk orbital space

To a outside observer, a large number of turrets in the fleet turned toward the advancing swarm of blades. On the red brown ships of the Hell-An, the turrets on them belched fire as projectiles going at a small fraction of the speed of light sped toward the blades. On the gunmetal gray ships and blue-gray ships of the Galdeen and their Luur allies, their turrets didn't do anything except a flash of purple-ish light inside their barrels.

If said observer was using a sensor array to look however, they would see ultra-violet lances shoot out and impact some of the blades seconds later. Several of the larger laser turrets normally used for anti-ship duty turned to shoot down the swarm too.

A large number of missile-like objects launched from several carriers, the new ECM drones of the Galdeen and Hell-An space navies. Using radio and subspace jammers, these were designed to block communications between enemy ships, fighters, and drones. Unfortunately, these were rushed into service when the Nameless attacked Olosis. Though it was known to the designers that a enemy fleet could use tachyon, laser, and even a theoretical quantum entanglement system. Once the drones reached their assigned positions, three light seconds from the fleet, they flooded the space around them with jamming. Flooding all radio and subspace channels with static. Viewing the wall of jamming using a sensor, it would resemble a vertical cap in front of the fleet. Tal'sev hoped this would disturb any command and control link the blade swarm would have when they pass through the jamming field, but a part of his mind feared it wouldn't do much.

But the PD turrets and ECM drones weren't the only things that responded to the incoming blade swarm advance. Hundreds of fighters from Coalition fleet sped forward to meet them before they reached the fleet. They maintained communications via laser comm. as they passed through the jamming field. As they closed to a mere few light-seconds to each other, the Coalition fighter squadrons slowed to attack speed and then opened fired, with shock cannons and rail guns blazing

Kaivik System, Outer Fringe

The formation of Galdeen and Hell-An bombers and gunships sped toward the Nameless Assault Node, having done a sling shot maneuver around Kuuruk's moon to speed themselves up and overshoot the swarm of blades. As they approached the assault node, several bright flashes of light appeared, caused by the kinetic energy release of multiple projectiles going nearly at the speed of light hitting the Nameless ship.

The bomber flotilla (I'm going to call it that for now) decided to take advantage of a possible weak spot in the massive vessel and opened fire on the point where the impactors hit. Plasma bolts, nuclear, fusion, and EM warheads, high-powered gauss and rail gun rounds were launched in the few seconds the bombers and gunships had before they sped past the Assault Node.

There was another rumbling sound within the dark chamber as the combined strikes caused portions of the massive vessel to give in under the massive stress.

It was well and far away from being noticeably damaged, however.

"Interesting!", the vessel's operator grinned as his thin silhouette danced across the chamber, plucking the vast array of strings in a swift, seemingly choreographed manner. "To be capable of interfering with the links in the system.", the being grabbed one of the strings with his claw and stretched it across the room, unraveling an entire set of strings previously hidden from view.

"Not yet, however!", a confident smile came upon his face as several new projections sprang across the chamber. "Not yet!"

Quickly, a flurry of staccato graced the air around him as an unexpected change occurred outside the dark vessel.

"More...", he dared Kuuruk's defenders.

"Show me more!"

Outside, the swarm of blades increased in their ferocity, finally reaching the fleet and starting to engage them directly.

Sparks of actinic light showered the field of battle as many a defending force were struck by the ecstatic blades.

Back in the Node's presence, another set of gates appeared on the surface, this time spawning what appeared to be giant, spider-like vessels, equally bathed in a thick shower of string-like light. Launching towards where the cloud of blades were already battling the fighters, the newly conjured constructs unleashed a storm of whip-like energy which latched onto the blades and restored any functionality which they might have lost from the defenders' previous attacks.

Fleet Tal'sev flagship, E.S.S. Victory, Titan-class

'I think we did something with the ECM,' Tal'sev thought as he watched the craft wobble slightly before resuming course.

"All ships, bring ECM emitters to full! Any AI that controlling a vital function like point defense is to attempt to jam any channels the Nameless is using to control those fighter-craft!" He then yelled out loud. Tal'sev then grimaced as a Galdeen destroyer and several defending fighters got chopped to pieces, then lost containment and went up in miniature suns.

"Fleet Commander! The Republic captains reports that their High Command has authorized the use of their Apocalypse-class impactors!" The Victory's AI reported.

"Then what are they waiting for?! FIRE!!"

Kaivik System, Outer Fringe

The destroyers of the impactor squadron dropped out of warp approximately fifteen light minutes away from the Assault Node. When they received their new orders, they turned around dropped back into warp. As the squadron reached near light speed and as the Apocalypse impactor were loaded into a missile tube, the AIs were calculating on how to position the ship so that when the impactor fired and if possible destroyed the Node, the fragments wouldn't collide with Kuuruk.

When the squadron was five light minutes away, a Apocalypse dropped away from a destroyer. Another dropped away from a opposing destroyer. Several standard impactors were also launched. As the squadron "pulled up" relative to the besieged defense fleet at Kuuruk, the two Apocalypses deployed their attached rods, fortunately not hitting each other thanks to the calculations of the AIs.

Multiple eye-searing flashes of light appeared on one side of the Node. If this didn't punch through, then nothing in their entire arsenal will.

"What in the-", wondered the vessel's operator as a flashing holographic screen showed a small, fast-moving object bury itself into the ship and pierce the massive construct's previously impregnable outer core. Sirens began to ring all across the doomed superstructure as the impactor drilled its way deeper and deeper into the colossal Nameless vessel, carrying with it the vastly deformed mass of the collapsing levels above it.

Suddenly, a cacophony of maddened laughter consumed the central chamber as the formerly sophisticated being fell to the floor, spasmodic and seemingly unhinged from the sight of what the defenders had managed to achieve.

"For an instance there, I thought 'what in the Nameless' names is going on?!'", the being which controlled the lethal concert of blades  began speaking to himself in an utterly deranged staccato.

//Your orders?//, the deep and bellowing voice of the vessel's AI returned to the commander's presence.

There was a moment of relative silence as the commander slowly collected himself and gradually rose from the floor. Scanning the chamber around him, a storm of flashing red adorned the entire room, a sign which simply assured that the vessel was inadvertently doomed.

"It seems it cannot be helped...", the commander sighed as he began to strum the holographic network of strings for one last time.

"Calculator!", he called out with renewed vigor. "Begin preparations for my, personal deployment..."

//Affirmative.//, it answered without question as a thick veil of light slowly rose from the floor and enveloped the vessel's operator.

"It is time we showed these primitive lot the true nature of our power...", the commander scoffed as the cocoon of light vanished along with him. "The one whom they call..."

The Twelve-Stringed Weaver...

Outside the fallen Assault Node, an almost blinding display of light consumed the ruined construct as fragments of the mobile planet began to break off and drift towards distant space.

The many blade-like constructs began to fall back to the node's molten remains as those who cannot were struck down by the Republic's combined fury.

The battle, it seems, has been won...

Fleet Tal'sev flagship, E.S.S. Victory, Titan-class

As the Nameless fighters withdrew from the battle with the fleet, everyone stood around in shock as the subspace sensors showed the Assault Node break up. They couldn't believe it. Is the Nameless tricking their sensor arrays? That theory was disproved when the light from the Apocalypse impactors hitting the Node and the subsequent destruction reached their visual sensors.

Then the entire fleet burst into cheering. They had actually destroyed a Assault Node! Many believe they would die when they first the Node show up.

"Quiet down!" Yelled Tal'sev, his voice slightly hoarse from all the yelling. "Just because we destroyed their mothership, that doesn't mean something may have gotten off and theres still those fighters to contend about. We need to regroup, we took a beating from those fighters." As if to punctuate it, a destroyer with part of it's engine block sliced off drifted in front of the bridge view port.

Kuuruk orbital space

The fleet reformed their formation quickly, their morale immensely boosted because of the Assault Node's destruction. The impactor squadron rejoined the fleet after five minutes. The bomber squadrons rejoined and docked at their surviving carriers after ten.

As the battle raged on between the guardians of Kuuruk and whatever remained of the Nameless' forces scattered from the previous strike, several stray weavers manage to take down one or two destroyers, only to be slain in turn by the vastly more organized coalition.

Everything seemed to be finally winding down, coming to a near close with the fall of the enemy's leadership.

Or so it seemed...

Elsewhere, in a place both far and near, a very familiar figure, the Nameless commander, drifted in what seemed to be endless void, accompanied solely by a ring of holographic monitors which slowly revolved around him.

That was quite unexpected of them.

To best a vessel of such magnitude.

In this place, there was no need for words, it seemed.

One's thoughts simply translated directly to will made manifest.

At least, it appears to be such.

Origin...

I am finally beginning to understand why even the Nameless themselves took suck keen interest in your precious little gems...

Slowly, the commander drifted, for what seemed to be an eternity.

A feeling of eternal slumber gradually came down upon the dark warrior as he began to recall every single event which transpired before the eyes of not only himself, but also that every single one of his vast army of weavers.

'What an interesting battle this so far was...', he thought. 'And it is only going to get much ... much more interesting...'

//Integration of neural networks to central dataframe complete.//

Hmph...

Back on Kuuruk, a rather lay Pentekonterus feels what can be considered a chill running down the entirety of her spine. Taking a second to feel it, she brushes it off as a fluke and promptly heads off to her work.

Unbeknown to her, a vast number of people, not just on the planet itself but all across Kiavik, also shared in the experience, a relatively subtle sign of the looming encounter ahead.

A bright flash of light, from the fallen node's direction, flooded the distant horizons as the makings of a giant disc, completely made of light, began to announce its presence.

Quickly, the cloud-like fragments of energy condensed into a single form as a massive cacophony of distorted space echoed across nearby space.

One by one, giant strings of light began to form from the disc's primordial surface, reaching out to space in all known directions, all twelve of them releasing a vastly greater aura, not far in nature from the ones exhibited by the others.

Finally, another, smaller flash of light raced across the void as a towering manifestation, eerily similar to the minor blades' appearance, pierced the disc's surface and slowly revealed its presence.

The massive construct continued to bellow forth from the disc of light as numerous, larger blades began to sprout from the sides and claw their way into existence.

When all was said and done, there now laid in Kiavik's midst, a being of colossal scale, both in its dozen titanic blades, which alone could carve out entire valleys from the vast plains of Kuuruk, or in its twelve massive strings which latched onto its form as their unearthly aura seemingly rejuvenated whatever was left of the entire Nameless swarm.

Fleet Tal'sev flagship, E.S.S. Victory, Titan-class

"What in the ancestors' names is that?" A bridge crewman said, frighten.

"I have no idea..." Another responded.

"The Nameless likely have something to do with that," The Admiral said. "All ships, form up and leave orbit. That thing will devastate the planet if it reaches it and the Pentekonterus ambassador will likely be a little mad if Kuuruk falls."

Kuuruk orbital space

The fleet reformed themselves into a sphere formation, lighter ships made up the outside, capital ships made up the core. A part of the fleet, the impactor squadron, left after several shuttles traveled between them and the few transports, their impactor magazines replenished. They then redlined their engines as they rushed to meet the new foe.

At ten light seconds out from the entity, the sphere split in half. The halves then began to "orbit" it at five light seconds away from it and the capital ships opened up with their heavy plasma, gauss, and electro cannons, pelting it with heavy weapons fire well away from the titanic blades it has. The destroyers using all their weapons to drive off nearby clusters of Nameless fighters.

Then, only seen by the sensor arrays, the impactor squad shot over the entity at .9 light speed, standard impactors punching into the entity, one managing to hit the bigger blade that was protruding out of it's rift/core.

As the impactors pierced the colossal entity's frame, most of the rounds connected with the massive swirling core. Entire sections of the disc began to break apart before the rest of the cloud gradually repaired the damage. Other rounds, on the other hand, directly collided with the strings, causing them to thin, or outright snap, disabling a large fraction of the blade-like Nameless fighters as their fellow intact weavers slowly mended the links.

Twelve-Stringed Weaver, Central Chamber

The Nameless weaver's dangling form swung ever so slightly from his suspended perch as one of the impactors slammed directly into the central blade. Reeled back into place by the swarm of luminous strings, several additional strands began to wrap around and seemingly reinforce the being's arms as his eyes locked on to the swarm of Republic warships currently circling around him.

"Now this is a battle...", the commander whispered as a grin fell down on his face.

"I think now would be rather fitting to formally introduce myself to these fighters..."

Fleet Tal'sev flagship, E.S.S. Victory, Titan-class

The vessel's comms network began to pick up a new signal coming directly from the alien colossus, just as signs of movement began to show in the aforementioned creatures arms.

"Arms are starting to active!" A sensor operating reported.

"Put another three light seconds between us and the thing," Tal'sev ordered. "Concentrate all fire on that central blade, looks like we hit something there."

"Sir, we're being hailed!" A comm. officer yelled.

"Source?" The Admiral asked.

"The entity's core, sir."

There was momentary silence from Tal'sev as he thought this over, then spoke up. "Put it on."

"System counter-measures are up." The AI said as the channel was opened.

The silence in the chamber was broken as a reply was heard from the Coalition fleet commander.

"Why, none other than the very being which stands before you now...", the commander said in a rather casual tone as he began to wave his arms about, the consequent movement of the colossal blades outside solidifying his point.

"Edin...", the commander continued, though now in a more serious voice. "You may call me, Edin..."

"I must say, the result of your efforts during the incident on Olosis was, quite unexpected...", the commander known as Edin began to point out as several of his arms started clawing the air. "... especially despite your status as a very unsophisticated lot."

Kuuruk Orbital Space

As the colossal creature's blades began to move about, the smaller weavers' movements began to increase in both pace and precision, sending the defenders wave upon wave of highly unpredictable swarms.

Reaching towards all directions, the giant entity's claws began to hook in several of the fragments from the previously fallen assault node.

//I have, a very interesting proposition for you, and the Stellar Republic as an entirety...

Would you care, to hear out, this lone warrior's offer?//

Tal'sev looked around him as the chaos on the bridge was intensified as the fighter swarms approached. Lasers flashed out of the fleet, hitting the incoming fighter swarms in a attempt to do as much damage as possible. The impactor squadron flashed by again, flashes of light showed where their impactors hit, though a number of them was on the central blade.

"And what is this offer?"

//What is this offer, you ask?//

There was slight moment of silence on Edin's end of the dialogue as he conjured several holographic images and promptly sent them to the E.S.S. Victory's bridge.

Twelve-Stringed Weaver, Central Chamber

"Simple, my young admiral..." Edin began his response by opening a direct videofeed of himself towards Tal'sev's flagship.

Spreading his arms across, a dastardly smirk came across his face as several seconds passed before he finally continued his answer.

Tal'sev looked at every hologram, all in a language he didn't understand, likely the Nameless' language. And what did he meant by life? Multiple possible explanations flashed through his head.

Ascension to the next plane of existence? No, otherwise the Nameless would have already done that.

The answer to the meaning and purpose of life? Maybe, from what he had heard from the Wexxians, they were a highly ancient race.

His mind wandered on that possibility. The meaning and purpose of life has been bugging scientists and philosophers in both the Hell-An Empire and Stellar Republic for centuries. If the answer was discovered, it could change everything both their nations ever knew.

A ensign ran up to him holding a datapad, Tal'sev read the contents, and gave him a nod. Before the ensign ran to, the Admiral was quickly began writing down more things on the datapad. He handed it to the ensign, who after a momentary glance at the contents, ran to the helmsman.

"I'm afraid I'm going to have to decline your offer," Tal'sev said. Both halves of the fleet fired one last salvo and jumped into warp, moving away quickly. "I like my life as it is right now without you Nameless running around, enslaving worlds. Goodbye now."

The last two Apocalypse impactors in the fleet and sixteen standard impactors, all they could launch without missing, rammed into core and central blade of the Weaver, along with a few magnetic accelerator shots from the Galdeen Mark 3s and several hundred nuclear and fusion warheads.

Twelve-Stringed Weaver, Central Chamber

Sparks flew across the chamber while the central blade took the brunt of the Coalition's attack. Edin felt the strings around him tighten as he curled his arms around him to brace from the storm of impacts.

Judging from your response, it seems those two haven't bothered telling anyone about it at all...

How sad...

"Calculator! Initiate self destruct sequence and open emergency long-distance hyperlink to Assault Carrier!", Edin commanded his artificial companion. Soon enough, a series of concentric glowing circles began to form around the Nameless weaver.

"We're leaving..."

Such bliss it is, to live peacefully in the dark!

Perhaps, someday, your people shall be familiar enough with what the Nameless has to offer...

Perhaps...

Kuuruk Orbital Space

The vast eternal night seemingly turned into day as the multitude of impactors and other powerful weapons pelted the Twelve-Stringed Weaver with enough force to crack open a small world several times over.

Slowly, the vastly devastated colossus began to give in to its own weight. As if pouring salt into the exceedingly fresh wound, the fragments of assault node which the weaver held in its arms began to descend towards the creature's core, colliding with great force and turning the being's body into a molten ball of scrap.

With the creature letting out a massive death wail and quickly falling to its inevitable demise, it seemed as if the battle was truly, finally over.

This was not to be so.

Without warning, a massive quake of energy raced across space, suddenly causing any remaining weavers to enter a spasmodic state as they veered off in all matter of directions, seemingly out of control.

But this would be the least of the defenders' worries. For as fate would have it, the Nameless had apparently set the stage for one last challenge against Kuuruk's guardians. With a massive flash of blinding light, the mass that was the giant weaver's remains exploded in a tumultuous flurry of light, each fragment seemingly shooting wildly across the heavens until their true objective finally became clear.

Every single one of the significantly sized fragments began to change course and head deeper into Kiavik. It only took trackers and lay observes alike to realize what was happening to the cloud of semi-relativistic objects.

All of them were headed for a high-speed collision with the Pentekonterus homeworld below.

Do try your best not to get killed by this small parting gift!

'Til the day this galaxy's people finally comes to their senses and accepts the glorious offer presented by the Nameless themselves...

'Til then...

Fleet Tal'sev flagship, E.S.S. Victory, Titan-class

"All ships, drop out of warp! Stop those fragments!" Tal'sev yelled as the bridge once again went into controlled chaos. "Where the hell is our reinforcements?! They should have been here hours ago!"

"The first Pentekonterus fleet from the Hell-An shipyards will be here in 43.4 minutes, Admiral!" A ensign reported. The view of warped space around them shifted back into normal patterns as the fleet deactivated their warp engines.

Thats much too long, Tal'sev thought. At best, we might not even have ten minutes.

The light vessels were the first to open fire on the incoming fragments. Their missiles, gauss, EM, shock, and laser weapons flashed out of the comparatively small group of ships into the massive fragments. The capital ships quickly joined in, their plasma, magnetic accelerator, and particle weapons adding their power to the mix. Miniature suns bloomed, then disappeared as nuclear and fusion weapons either vaporized or threw off their courses somewhat. But even with all of their firepower, it simply wasn't enough.

"We aren't going to make it," Tal'sev whispered to himself. The A.I. noted what he said, but didn't say anything, only concentrating on taking out the fragments.

Kuuruk, Republic Planetary Defense Command, five miles below unspecified mountain range

"Evacuate everyone to the shelters! Activate the planetary defense cannons!" Kraik yelled as people from multiple races ran about to do their assignments.

What few anti-starship particle and magnetic cannons that had been constructed rose from their protective mountain shells. They began firing once they were fully deployed, the particle cannons firing more frequently thanks to using only energy and what particles were carried along the beams.

Even with every last ounce of courage and bravery the defenders had, they knew they won't be able to prevent at least some fragments from impacting Kuuruk.

Kuuruk Surface

Everywhere, the tiniest of shards from the broken fragments rained down. The fleets above were stopping the larger ones, but this hail wrought havoc upon civilians and livestock. To counteract this, the various goverments had been directing workers and others into a series of bunkers built during the Endless War. The turret defenses at Nirulimuka and Ka'Raspuv, as well as other metropolises, were helping, but it could not save the countryside. In many smaller towns, homes an businesses were destroyed. In addition, the uninhabited continent was bombarded as well.

Interstellar Space

The First Aerospace Battalion of Kabalu was desprately in need of a shortcut. The highest-ranking officer on board any of the ships, Brigadier General Mikkil Nottus, was barking out orders to search for a quicker path.

"There's got to be a way to get there in time to stop those fragments!"
"Sir, there may be a way."
"What is it?"
"If we take a route through this nebula here, we should be able to reach our home in less than half the time it would normally-"
"NO! If I lose anyone in there, the entire fleet is doomed! We're going to have o find a safer way."
Who are you again and why in the world would you expect anything resembling rationality or civility in youtube comments?

Elsewhere...

Edin's silhouette can be seen amidst the dimly light corridors as he made his way out of a small portal. Slowly turning towards his back, a very familiar visage appeared within his sights.

"What seems to be your business here, hmm, Corrupted?", he stared straight at the Corrupted being a short stroll away from him as it slowly walked towards him.

Bracing for a mild confrontation, the Weaver stood his ground as he glared coldly at the creature approaching him, which was apparently an Orealyianis, though one which was undoubtedly, if only slightly altered in appearance.

Just as the Corrupted was several meters away from his apparent target, a large and sudden blur consumed Edin's vision as what felt like an arm began to press on his left shoulder. It was only several seconds after that the commander realized the massive three-pronged claw that was now bearing down on him.

"You...", an odd smile crept across Edin's face as his eyes turned to the Corrupted which was now standing right beside him. "You really are quite skilled! That, I admit!"

"Hmph...", the creature let go of Edin's shoulder and promptly went its way, but not before the Weaver tried to have the last word.

"Don't abuse your luck, Corrupted!", Edin said to the Oreaylianis which was now quite a distance away. "Don't let your guard down, simply because you happen to be paired up with that traitor."

The Corrupted suddenly stopped at these words, soliciting another dark stare from Edin.

"You should be concerned more about yourself...", the Corrupted swiftly retorted. "... traitor to the Knights of Sporda."

As the vast storm of fragments that breached the planet's defenses began to reach its climax, the already evident destruction was made more pronounced by the impact of several larger fragments on the world's oceans, creating colossal waves which bombarded the continents' coasts. All over the seaside, a panorama of utter devastation welcomed anyone who was lucky enough to survive the event out in the open.

The story wasn't any different wherever you looked on the highly vulnerable surface, and in extremely dire cases, even entire local ecosystems were greatly damaged by the onslaught as flora and fauna were crushed left and right by hail-like string of impacts.

Fleet Tal'sev flagship, E.S.S. Victory, Titan-class

Tal'sev watched in horror as fragments continued to rain down on Kuuruk along with the rest of the fleet. Even with their best efforts, the planet was being hit hard. Sighing, he turned away to the comm. officer.

"Tell the fleet to begin mop-up operations. The fighters that are left will hinder any operations we make in the system. And fire off a report to Galieen, let them know about EVERYTHING we found here and tell them that I recommend stepping up production for the Apocalypse-class impactors." The officer nodded and began composing the message with the ship AI's assistance.

"Sir," The sensor operator called out. "Long range scans detect activity eight L.Y. (Light Years) away, around a nebula. Looks to be a fleet, but we can't get a precise I.D. on them with the interference from the nebula. Shall I commence deep scan?"

The admiral nodded and so with a tapping of keys, the operator began doing a active scan of the unknown fleet. After a minute, he looked up from his screen.

"Its a Pentekonterus fleet sir. The First Aerospace Battalion if the yard master at Tai'gan is correct."

Tal'sev nodded again. "Good. Comms, let their fleet commander know of the situation here if they don't already."

Kuuruk Orbital Space

As all this happened, groups of destroyers and cruisers broke formation and plotted intercept courses with the remaining Nameless fighters. Once they caught up with them, they blew each group away with massed firepower while a few ships took their wreckage for future study in a safer location.

The remaining ships continued shooting down the last few fragments still heading to Kuuruk while shuttles were sent down to assist with the search and rescue parties on the planet in the wake of the massive tsunamis and putting out what wild fires there were caused by the falling smaller wreckage.
