All its ever been good for is some solid multiplayer action, I could get it for some on-line but I know I'll just be endlessly killed by people who have been playing multiplayer since they hooked up their original Xbox at their mates place for LAN multiplayer.
I think that's flawed logic. Why even bother with multilayer for any game, there is always going to be people better then you. Starcraft, Team Fortress, Call of Duty, Left 4 Dead. Any game you're going to get destroyed at early on, you play and get better, then you become the destroyer.
Oh there will always be people better than me but I at least started playing the game the same time they did I at least have a chance by being a noob when they were a noob. Halo has been pretty much the same game since day one. I wont deny there have been minor changes but once your a star at the basics which everyone else learned back in Halo 2 anyone who is jumping into on-line multi with reach can expect to spend a lot of time looking at the death screen.
Hopefully this match making will improve that. I have heard many a story of match making having some pretty weird decisions and the selection may as well have been random. This usually an issue with the actual ranking system.
Then again I have been dirty on Halo since I had the 1st and found the single player game to be criminally boring it was a while ago but I distinctly remember jumping right on-line after playing The Library to complain about it. Also back then the forum I went to had a resident Halo fan boy who insisted on posting every Halo image he could get his hands on and this was the days when dial up was still common which ended up tainting my view of the game.
Still I might give it a chance but it will be more wait and see how it's received.
