The War of The Tomes
« on: September 06, 2010, 10:24:03 am »
In the year 2015, the great Literature Revolutions occurred in the wake of the release of Dragon Heart. Soon, all civilization had fallen into disarray as the tensions between fans and detractors became actual wars. Then, in 2020, from the mists of chaos rose a calmer time, in which civilization could be reborn. Billions are dead, but more than 2,500,000,000 remain. It is with these people that the legacy of literature- and of humanity- lies. They began to coalesce based on which books they liked the most.

So, the rules here are simple: pick a book and a place to put its fans, and you've got a country! Each turn will represent one year. You'll know what I was inspired by. NO JPEGS. Ok, GO! GO! GO!

My inspiration is the Post-Apocalyptic World Map game.

It was before your time, Lush City.

Also, will anyone else join us?

My favorite book is the Starfist series by David Sherman and Dan Cragg!

I pick Hawaii as my HQ! Real nice place, you should go there sometime.

My country's name will be the Republic of the Starfist!

A lot of people fled to the U.S. thinking that it would hold out. It didn't. Plus, for two of those, the main distibution of the book was in the U.S. Just how many Twilight fans are there in France, for instance?
And to make sure you guys actually have some NPC's to interact with early on.

Alright... I'm going to first build a fishing fleet to feed my population. Next I'm going to send out a cargo ship that survived the apocalypse and send it to San Fransisco to find new things to use, like helicopters, fuel, building materials, maybe some computers. Then, if possible, research new fuel sources because the gas won't last forever, especially after a apocalypse, maybe hydrogen fuel cells? Lastly, reconstruct the infrastructure all over Hawaii.

Ok, I'll add those actions to the map.
Then, Sporelord goes and we get the 2021 map.

You need to state the title of the book your country is based around. These forums are not a book.
