The Game of Spore (new! with updates)
« on: July 27, 2010, 08:28:52 am »
(how do I add a poll? well untill then, post the evolution desired out of these:
  • Change Name
  • Expand diet
  • Population boom
  • Improve senses
  • Improve movement
  • Increase intellegence
  • Become bigger
)

Well, since flisch seems to have stopped updated spore the game, I made my own evolve type game.

Don't flame for for trying to recreate a topic that i was too late to join. Because that would just prove you to be a troll and a failing member of gamingsteve.

Also, there is now multiple evolutions running in parallel. But everything is descended from celly, so:

Generation 1

Name: Celly
Diet: Molten Rock/Sulphur
Relative Population: 1
Senses: Chemical Sensing (poor)
Speed: Very Slow
Size: Microscopic
Intellegence: 0/???

Taxonomy
-Celly
(will become more detailed as time goes on)

we may even be able to rp with him once he's done!

Can you please change the name of your game. I don't want to sound like a douche, but I don't think it's good if people keep confusing our threads with each other.

Otherwise, good luck.

Don't set a time limit though. You won't be able to edit or reset it later.

My general feeling would be that you probably shouldn't start a game if you don't understand how to use the tools that are vital to making it work. Perhaps you should pool your resources with other players. That'd be better than having four copycat versions of Flisch's game pop up. If you all work together, you'll end up with a much better product to shove in Flisch McLazyson's face. ;)

It doesn't work. >.> And even just sulfur-reducing would require it to live near a hydrothermal vent, and any colonies wouldn't become specialized. It would be best if you changed its diet to something heterotrophic.

I agree with Clarke. We should have a viable diet. Cytovores evolve into herbivores/carnivores/omnivores/etc.

Sulfur eating creatures have no need to evolve. Ever.

Lush City, the only reason a cell would eat a diet of sulfur molecules is if it is sulfur-based or maybe silicon based.  And it would also need some other elements in it's diet.  I know nothing about how sulfur biochemistry works. And what's the solvent (water, ammonia, methane, silane, etc.)?
:o Whoa... that was deep.

Actually, many lithotrophs metabolize sulfur. Its just that they couldn't become specialized, and they wouldn't be able to leave hydrothermal vents/hot springs.

I mean as in eating just sulfur molecules and molten rock.  And I never knew that many lithotrophs metabolize sulfur, thanks.

And what is the biochemistry? silicon? sulfur? carbon?

I don't think Bromine works very well as a base or solvent. It would just get locked up in salts anyway.

No, Bromine would not work. I just read up on wikipedia and it's rare, gets locked up with the alkalis (rubidium, potassium, etc.), and it is corrosive.

Generation 3
Expand Diet Won!
The new Subcellys began to spread like rabbits, and soon the grain of sand that the cells were toiling through was overpopulatated. The cellys grabbed at the schance, and began to eat the subcellys using new chemicals manufactured in their cytoplasm. However, some cellys are cannibalistic, so the celly population is declining.

Improve Senses Won!

Cellys preyed on the subcellys until there was little left in the grain of sand. But a new dark green film around the cell let him sense the telltale chemicals around him, as well as locate tiny bacteria that have found a way to get energy from the sea.
