Has anyone else seen the new Predators film yet? I saw it recently and, I have to say, the franchise seems a bit... Dedicated to its roots, rather than revitalizing the franchise or adding new life to it. Good film, but seems like they're running into a wall in terms of originality.

More detailed review here.

So, anyone have any opinions on the film?

I haven't seen it... Topher Grace being cast in a beloved scifi franchise is just too scary.

Suffice to say, as the trailers will tell you, the film is about a group of soldiers, criminals, and Eric Foreman being dropped onto an alien world to be hunted like wild animals by the eponymous Predators.

I just saw this. Pretty much what the OP says. It's incredibly clichéd and predictable.

I liked it, in my opinion the best follow on movie yet. I'm glad I didn't look up who was in it (or anything about it actually)
before I went, I was pleasantly surprised.

I loved this movie with a fiery passion. Just some damn-good entertainment.

Saw it and yeah liked it. Seeing I had a full predator marathon that day only not seeing Requiem that day due to time constraints (probably for the best anyway). Wait for it to come out on DVD and someone to put a video on youtube with Heavy/Medic voice clips for the Russian and Topher.

They lost me when the Yakuza guy had a weeaboo's-wet-dream swordfight with a Predator. In a meadow.

Saw it today. Enjoyed it, good solid entertainment.

I liked the Russian guy with the minigun.
