Biology

Galdeen anatomy is has just all the required organs except for several things. One is that they have a extra heart, liver and lung, allowing them not to get tired as quickly, to be extremely healthy and not dying if one of the hearts is damaged. Second is that their mouth's teeth are made to eat meat, not plants. But they do have few herbs that they ingest for medical purposes and grind for herbal teas. Third is that they have clawed hands and feet which was useful during their period of time as predators of Galieen.

Galdeen hunters hunted during the day and night, so their eyes adjust more quickly when in the dark areas or during the night cycle of a planet, but it isn't really night vision. When Galdeen eat, they require high calorie food because of the all energy their bodies use, meaning its very rare to see a "fat" Galdeen. Galdeen have almost very good memory, they can remember things well that happened decades ago, and they have a surprising balance, even carrying a heavy object.

-------------------------------

Primitive History

The Galdeen's earliest ancestor was a type of air-breathing shark that often hunted in packs to get their food, even more so when hunting the more larger ocean creatures. When they life began developing onto land, the Galdeen moved onto it too, evolving legs and later arms and hands evolved to their current form, their now fully formed brains started thinking beyond their usual instincts.

A pack of Galdeen were attempting to catch a creature that started running away, in desperation, one of them picked up a large stick and threw it at the fleeing animal. The stick hit the animal in the hind leg, crippling it. That Galdeen pack tried doing the same thing in other hunts which resulted in success, when they met other wandering Galdeen, they told them of the idea and when those Galdeen met other, they told the them the same thing and so on. The now tribes of Galdeen started wandering since they wouldn't get enough food if they stayed in one place. Their first domesticated animal was used as a pack animal and was a herbivore whos main diet was grass. They then attempted to tried to domesticate their main prey, a type of large animal similar to a bull only larger and without horns. When they did manage to domesticate several, they started settling down.

History

BGW - Before Great War
DGW - During Great War
AGW - After Great War

circa 3000 BGW - First Tribes appear on Western continents.

circa 2100 BGW - First permanent villages appear.

circa 2000 - 1996 BGW - First history records and soon-to-be primary language appear detailing how to raise the main livestock of Galdeen farms. The independent city of Bomica is established on the only remaining landbridge between the three Western continents.

circa 1983 BGW - Cities of Monki and Tlak in the northern continent start claiming territory to build farms and outposts.

circa 1923 BGW - Trade begins flowing through the city of Bomica between the nearby cities. Bomica prospers and starts growing in size. Bronze Age begins.

circa 1876 BGW - First war begins with the now empires of Monki and Tlak. Heavy casualties for both sides because of poor tactics and leadership on both sides. Tlak emerges victorious and demands Monki turn over several thousand acres of land to them.

circa 1798 - 1791 BGW - Monki declares war on Tlak by attacking the surrounding farms and villages with a surprisingly large army and starves Tlek. Tlak surrendered to Monki and was merged into the Monki empire along with all its former territory, making Monki the sole remaining power on their continent. Similar things happen on the other two continents. Bomica, one of the few cities thats not part of a empire, is targeted by five different empires because of it's strategic position and amount of wealth it has. The empires offer great rewards if Bomica joins them, but refuses them all. Instead, Bomica threatens to embargo all trade from the empires unless they acknowledge Bomica's independence. Since much of their income comes from trade and if its embargoed, they'll be crippled economically. They reluctantly acknowledge the city's independence. The Iron Age begins.

circa 1682 BGW - A asteroid breaks up in orbit around Galieen and showers the Western continents. Only the cities of Bomica, Monki,, Deleen, and Pomia survive intact and with their libraries. Dark Age begins.

circa 1681 BGW - The leaders of the four remaining cities meet finally after numerous attacks by raiders. They decide to educate every member of their cities to preserve knowledge. Walls are built at the three stretches of land that connects Bomica to the three continents. Making a safe heaven to refugees that are fleeing the ruined cities and raiders.

circa 1543 BGW - Pomia's walls are breached by barbarians that have recovered intact siege weapons. City only saved by reinforcements that were sent by Monki that was only twelve miles away.

circa 1379 - 1365 BGW - Technologies begin to be rediscovered by barbarians. They begin establishing new cities and reconstruct a few old ones. New empires begin growing. Bomica, Monki, Pomia, and Deleen make a alliance to defend themselves against the new empires. Several empires make diplomatic agreements with the Alliance for technology and peaceful trade.

circa 900 BGW - Western continents enters a period of relative peace. Very few wars are fought.

circa 400 BGW - Crossbows invented. Sailing ships that are able to handle travels across the oceans are made, several attempt to cross the ocean to find the edge of the world to the East. All but one manage to returns after almost two months after departing with moderate damage and several of each crew gone. Captains say they got caught in a major storm that threw them off course, they tried turning around and were lucky to even be back at the Western continents. The lost ship is declared to be lost at sea.

circa 100 BGW - Compasses invented, but enough bad memories about the previous attempted voyages remain that people not make voyage for a nearly a century.

circa 2 - 1 BGW - A group of ships set out again to the East. They return nearly three months after leaving to report them finding a resource rich island chain. Many exploration ships set out to establish outposts on the newly discovered islands.

circa 0 BGW - 1 DGW - New continent is discovered. A group of ships sets out from the island territories to explore and map it. Only one ship returns with heavy damage with bloodied survivors. They say they discovered a violent nightmare race of sentient lizards that sunk the other two ships using a type of fire bomb. They were boarded and barely managed to repel them and escape. The islands gear themselves for war by constructing walls and barricades and sends a ship back to the Western continents to report the news and to send for reinforcements. A group of three ships that look like ships that were built four hundred years ago attack one of the main ports and lands thousands of troops that were packed into the ships, it is repelled only because of the elevation the defenders had and superior tactics. The enemy's looks match the description the survivors gave. The Great War begins.

circa 2 DGW - Large repeating crossbows are invented by a engineer seeking to improve the colonies' weaponry. Numerous enemy raids strike the islands, most are repelled, but some trading posts and colonies are lost. Scouts sent out by the islands report a massive enemy armada approaching the islands. The armada attacks the main port of New Tlak, the repeating crossbows are the only thing keeping the enemy from overrunning the city. Numerous reinforcement ships sent by the Galdeen mainland drive them back.

circa 5 DGW - A dozen enemy ships discovered at Western continents landing their troops. The ships were destroyed, but several thousand enemy troops escape into the forest. A week later, the enemy force reemerges to attack a village. When a army sent by a nearby city arrive at nighttime, the enemy is camped in and around the remains of the village. They strike and surprisingly quickly send them into panic. All enemy troops are killed. When the Galdeen troops investigates the village's remains, they discover the lizards ate all of the villagers. News of this travels quickly all over the Western continents.

circa 6 DGW - Maleeno, leader of Bomica, suggests a joint command to coordinate ships and armies. All agree for fear of the enemy and the Combined Army of the Galdeen is formed.

circa 11 DGW - After five years of endless attacks, enemy attack rate drops sharply allowing scouts to be sent. Over a dozen enemy ports and staging areas are discovered. Attacks from the Combined Army follow up shortly, destroying half of the targets. The other half is attacked two weeks later by the same ships with fresh reinforcements. Severely sets back enemy plans.

circa 12 - 14 DGW - More enemy staging points and cities are discovered. Each are attacked and destroyed within four weeks of discovery. Engineers start attaching iron plates to the side of new ships to repel enemy fire bombs. First early Ironclads are made. War is now longest war fought in Galdeen history.

circa early 15 DGW - Second Eastern continent discovered by scout and raider ships to the south of the enemy mainland with only very light enemy presence. All outposts on that continent is destroyed and is used as a staging point for a invasion onto the enemy mainland.

circa later 15 - 27 DGW - Invasion of the mainland is launched with surprising success. Strategists theory the enemy wasn't expecting a invasion which surprise many but may explain why they haven't put up a effective defense so far. Another beachhead into the mainland is established to the west and start pushing deeper into the continent. More reinforcements are sent and start spreading out, destroying every city they see.

circa 28 DGW - Inventors experiment with Black Sand (gunpowder) and a accident ignites one hundred pounds of gunpowder, killing two dozen. Engineers and Inventors start experimenting ways of using the powder as a bomb.

circa 30 DGW - Last enemy city is surrounded by Galdeen armies. Seven month long siege ends when Galdeen armies retreat and demolition teams on the mountain behind the city explode five hundred pounds of gunpowder. Landslide ensues and buries everything. The Great War ends.

circa 0 AGW - Mop up operations begin, armies search entire continent in order to kill every last remaining enemy. Galdeen historians puzzled at what to call the enemy since no records were found as to what they called themselves, so they were simply referred to as "The enemy".

circa 5 AGW - Mop up operations end. The enemy is now extinct.

circa 6 AGW - Maleeno, now a old man, suggests all empires unite to create a new world order, his words carried great power during the War and still does, all agree. The Galdeen Coalition is created with Bomica as it's capitol. and the Golden Age of Discovery begins.

circa 148 AGW - First true Ironclads are built and makes all other ships obsolete. Steam engines are also invented.

circa 300 - 400 AGW - New ideas and advances in medicine improve life all over Galieen.

circa 884 AGW - First air plane is tested. Revolutionizes travel.

circa 923 AGW - First radio invented.

circa 954 AGW - First satellite is sent into orbit called Discovery 1, starts making precise maps of Galieen.

circa 959 AGW - First Galdeen is sent up into orbit and orbits the planet in two hours, lands in the Eastern Ocean and is picked up by a military vessel a day after landing.

circa 963 AGW - First crew is sent toward Galieen's only moon. The crew make successful landing and Talgeen Milok is the first Galdeen to step on another planetary body.

circa 1092 AGW - First cylinder colony ships are sent to the Moon and nearby planets.

circa 1153 AGW - First Warp Drive invented. Construction of a Mark 1 Type 1 ship started. First orbital elevator constructed in Bomica.

circa 1155 AGW - Mark 1 Type 1 ship, S.S. Explorer finishes construction and begins Warp Drive test by warping to the outer planets where a cylinder ship awaits it. Test successful with no problems. More drives and Mark 1 Type 1 survey ships, and Type 2 colony ships begin construction.

circa 1160 AGW - Surrounding systems colonized.

circa 1201 AGW - Research into plasma technology begins.

circa 1203 AGW - 26 star systems colonized.

circa 1216 AGW - Construction is started in Mekios star system and all civilian travel to the system is stopped by military starships. The Project begins.

circa 1220 AGW - Luur race is contacted and saved from pirate forces. The Luur joins Galdeen Coalition and fills in roles as pilots.

circa 1225 AGW - 35 star systems colonized. Basic weather control devices is developed, allowing reduced amount of weather related disasters and improving terraforming of several planets.

circa 1230 AGW - Tri-Wexxian Empire's galaxy-wide message sends Galdeen Coalition into panic, Galieen and all colonies is reinforced and fortified. Galdeen Interstellar Navy goes to full alert. Ancient alien research outpost is discovered and activated. First contact takes place between the the Space Union and the Galdeen Coalition. Coalition joins the Space Union and technology is improved all across the Coalition.

circa 1234 AGW - Plasma generators and weaponry is made with the assistance of Union scientists and is integrated into the Coalition military.

circa 1238 AGW - First wormhole drive is made with assistance from the Space Union. The drive is transported under heavy escort to the Mekios system.

circa 1240 AGW - The Project is completed. The first kilometer and 1/4 long Mark 3 Type 1 "Titan" is completed with two more Mark 3s nearly complete. Its maiden voyage takes it to the Space Union capitol world using its newly equipped wormhole drive.

circa late 1242 - early 1243 AGW - The lemur-like Tilk race is successfully uplifted, filling in maintenance and engineering roles because of their small size and apparent love for the technological wonders the Galdeen possess. Talk begins about changing the Galdeen Coalition's name with the alien members it now has. After several months of discussion, the Galdeen Coalition is renamed the Stellar Republic, with new laws that make sure of equal rights between the Galdeen, Luur, and the Tilk.

circa late 1243 AGW - The Stellar Republic receives a message from a planet that identifies itself as the nation Kabalu that hails from the planet Kuuruk. The Republic sends the survey ship Voyager and the missile destroyer Lance Held High to initiate diplomatic contact with Kuuruk. After landing and making contact with Kabalu's leader, King Irbilika Falthus IV, the city comes under attack by fanatical soldiers commanded by the Nirbalu nation.

With the assistance of the Lance's infantry, they hold off the siege and break the invading army's morale thanks to the Galdeen infantry's superior weapons and partially to Irbilika's new weapon, a flamethrower. Reinforcements quickly arrived in the form a Space Union Star Sabre-class ship S.U.S. Great Hope and the Stellar Republic's 12th War Fleet and assisted in driving back the enemy army and ultimately destroying it with the Hope destroying one of the planet's mountains via plasma cannon in a effort to scare Nirbalu into submission, which worked.

The Union and Republic establishes a semi-permanent presence on Kuuruk until Kabalu is able to fully construct a space fleet.

Combat

In terms of numbers, the Galdeen Army and Navy doesn't have as many numbers as other races militaries, but they make up for that disadvantage in well armed and equipped forces.

In Space tactics, a Galdeen fleet will enter maximum firing range at 10 hundred kilometers and will open up with lance weaponry, fusion missiles, and launch fighters engage the enemy and attempt to weaken the target fleet. At 5 hundred kilometers, the fleet will start slowing down and fire their rail guns, rail cannons, and fire multi-megaton nuclear missiles to throw off the target fleet's aim, fighters start returning to their motherships and switch to anti-fighter loadouts, carriers and escort carriers start breaking off and hold at around 2.5 thousand kilometers. At 1 thousand kilometers, the remaining Galdeen fleet will cease decelerate and split to their separate targets.

If several Mark 1 ships are targeting a single enemy ship, the Mark 1s will start circling the target like a pack of predators and target separate systems, like engines, FTL drive, weapons, and shields. Once those systems are destroyed, they will target more vital areas like the bridge and main generator.

When a battleship type engages a target, they will attempt get within five thousand kilometers to bring their broadside about and we all know how damaging broadsides are, so I won't go into it.

A tactic called Impactor Tactic the recently made by a fleet commander that was assaulting a pirate warlord's asteroid base. The warlord had equipped the base with a outrageous amount of shield generators all operating at once, and by the time they did finally get through, the Galdeen fleet would've been destroyed by the base's cannons. The commander decided to attempt the tactic which was purely theoretical at the time. The missile destroyer Forward Unto the Stars was ordered to load a modified missile and fire it at the asteroid base with the fleet feeding it targeting data and moving out of the firing line. When the destroyer fired, the results exceeded expectations. Not only was the shield taken down, the kinetic force was enough to punch through the base and out the other side, taking their reactor core with it. The result was a hole going right through the base and with the reactor core was simply gone, the station powered down and the warlord was captured. Since then, the Impactor Tactic was used against similar asteroid bases and even powerful alien warships.

In Ground tactics, Galdeen troops usually armed with large shoulder-mounted automatic rail guns with a 200 round cylinder with 4 more on their upper leg armor. Because of a Galdeen's strength, they aren't as nearly as cumber-some and they're made with light weight materials.

Upon landing, Galdeen troopers and armored vehicles will deploy from dropships and establish a beachhead. In the face of heavy resistance, a precision orbital bombardment or a airstrike to either totally destroy them or soften them up enough to advance. For tactics in various types of terrain, there are multiple tactics for each type.

----------------------------------------

Weapon Technology

Rail Weapons - One of the most commonly used weapons in the modern day Galdeen Coalition is the railgun. Its built to last and powerful. For Galdeen Army troopers, the Type 5 railgun is a Galdeen's best friend. Has a large magazine, good range, and lightweight. Larger versions are mounted on tanks and Mark 1 starships. The Mark 2s possess a entirely different type, called rail cannons. Shoots faster, more kinetic force and specialized ammunition like armor piercing (AP) rounds and the more recent shield piercing (SP) rounds.

Missiles - The oldest weapon type the Galdeen still in use. Missiles are used just as much as railguns are. Can use other weapon types via warheads.

Nuclear and Fusion weapons - Some of the most dangerous weapons, nuclear weapons are used only as a sort of smoke screen in space and to make enemy plasma weapons ineffective. Fusion weapons are in more use, its used as the primary weapon in starship missile launchers. Very damaging and used only as a anti-ship weapon.

PAC/Lance Weapon - Particle Accelerator Cannons and Lance Cannons are basically the one and the same. Lance cannons are a nickname used by captains because when a PAC shoots, its like a lance. Its only mounted on Mark 2 ships or planet side because of the amount of power it requires, but that doesn't mean its not effective. Plans for a smaller, more energy efficient PAC weapons are under way, but won't be done in quiet a while. PAC weapons are also a useful planetary defense weapon because its able to take out landing invasion transports quickly.

Starships

The Galdeen have so far, designed two different starships, but have constructed many different versions of them. They made the basic design of the ships to be "all purpose" ships. Ships that are given the designation Type 1 means its the basic template for all other types of the mark. The only thing that remains the same is the basic design. When the Mark 1 Type 1 design was put forward, some jokingly called it a "mothership", but when later types and the Mark 2 ships were designed, Navy members kept calling the ships motherships. Motherships are now the most used nickname of Galdeen starships.

For example, a Mark 1 Type 6 starship is a survey ship, having many sensors towers and research labs with a smaller amount of weapons, armor, shields, and room for cargo while a Mark 1, Type 8 ship will have its middle section extended to make room for a extra cargo bay for freighter types or a hanger for escort carrier types with point defense guns and better shielding. Mark 1 military types are also general larger than their counterparts that other races have, ranging from the size of a large destroyer to a light cruiser, depending on the amount of weapons, armor, and shields the type has.

A Mark 2 has a more military oriented design for either battleship types, and carrier types, even large transport types if needed for planetary invasion. Sizes range from heavy cruiser to carrier.

(Note: The battleship I drew has other weapons like point defence that I didn't add.)

-------------------------------------------

Starship Types

Mark 1 starships

Mark 1 Type 1 - Obsolete, standard template for all Mark 1 ships

Mark 1 Type 2 - Obsolete, improved from last Type

Mark 1 Type 3 - In use, standard destroyer type, constantly improved design, armed with railguns, point defense guns, and a single missile launcher

Mark 1 Type 4 - In use, missile destroyer type, constantly improved design, armed with mostly missile launchers, smaller amounts of railguns, standard amount of point defense guns

Mark 1 Type 5 - In use, colony ship type, middle section replaced with zero gravity cylinder section filled with cryo pods, few point defense guns

Mark 1 Type 6 - In use, survey ship type, fin section equipped with many sensor types, only two railguns, few point defense guns

Mark 1 Type 7 - In use, civilian type, highly customizable with many different modules and parts of non-military design

Mark 1 Type 8 - In use, cargo or escort carrier type, middle section extended to allow a larger cargo hold or a larger hanger bay, ship's overall mass 1/3 bigger than previous types

Mark 2 starships

Mark 2 Type 1 - In use, battleship type, heavily armored and shielded, armed with several torpedoes and PACs, multiple rail cannons, and many point defense guns and railguns

Mark 2 Type 2 - In use, carrier type, less armored, but more heavily shielded, houses hundreds of fighters and bombers, armed with many railguns and point defense guns

Mark 2 Type 3 - In use, large transport type, heavily armored, but less shielded, has room to carry a army for invasions along with a number of dropships to get them to a planet's surface, armed with few railguns and many point defense guns

Mark 3 starships

Mark 3 Type 1 - In use, super heavy warship, super heavily armored, super heavily shielded, has room to carry a small army for ground invasions, hundreds of secondary weapons, has several powerful heavy plasma turrets, has a magnetic accelerator cannon thats as powerful as a standard Impactor missile

Mark 3 Type 2 - In use, mobile warp gate, super heavily armored, super heavily shielded, slightly smaller amount of secondary and primary weapons, has warp gate allowing it to bring reinforcements from Galdeen space

Warp Drive

------------------------------------------
Note: If no one minds, I'm going to use the Star Trek warp designations, e.i. Warp 1, Warp 2, Warp 3, etc
------------------------------------------

Ever since the first successful warp drive test in 1155 AGW, the drive has adopted wide-spread use, even more so when a more efficient way to produce it was made. When the S.S. Explorer first tested the drive, it went at Warp 1.2. Modern day ships can go up to Warp 7.6.

For missions that will take months to get there, a specialized Mark 1 ship can carry a inactive Warp Gate that when detached and deployed, will connect to the rest of the Gate network in Galdeen space. When a ship goes through a Warp Gate, it can turn what would be a weeks long trip using a warp drive to a matter of hours, depending on how far away the destination is. Though its fast, the time it takes for a gate to be constructed is longer then it takes to build two Mark 2 Type 2 carriers, which takes four-and-a-half months.

Army Types

Infantry

Army Trooper - The standard trooper for the Galdeen Combined Army. They are equipped with a standard-issue Type-5 railgun, a standard-issue Type-7 revolver, Type-3 armor, and three fragmentation grenades and a single EMP grenade.

Marine - One up from a Army Trooper. These are the vanguard of a army and are the ones who form the beachheads of a planetary invasion. They are equipped with a Type-5 railgun, a Type-1 particle accelerator cannon, Type-2 powered assault armor with a experimental personal shield generator, a silenced Type-7 revolver, three fragmentation grenades, and two EMP grenades.

(If you didn't know by now, these guys gets all the new toys from the R&D section of the Military High Command)

Recon Drone - Basically what name says, it can cycle through multiple different vision modes as well as using radar to observe enemy formations. It is unarmed and carries a thermite self-destruct package in it to prevent capture and reverse-engineering by less-advance races.

Vehicles

Centaur-class light tank - A light tank that doubles as a APC. It can carry a full squad of eight troopers. Basic info is in the image.

Warlord-class heavy tank - A heavy tank with extra weapons equipped, the tank's rail cannon is the same type of cannon used on starships, difference is that the tank doesn't use shells designed to penetrate starship-grade armor. The Warlord is also equipped with armor-piercing missile launchers.

Walkers

Type-3 MCV - The MCV is the command center for any field commander, complete with tactical holographic map table and with the power of the walker's fusion reactor is able to send subspace messages to anywhere within the local system. It is armed with four Type-3 heavy railguns. The Type-3 has heighten corridors to allow some of the taller allies the Galdeen have. A new feature the Type-3 MCV has is that it is able to "lay down" to allow personal to board and exit without the use of a dock.

Type-3B Minotaur - The Minotaur contains many of the same features the MCV has except interplanetary comms, but can still function as a command vehicle. The Minotaur is armed with a extra nose mounted heavy railgun, two rail cannons, and four laser point defense arrays.

Type-2 Titan Command Platform - A master piece of Galdeen technology, this air ship is perfect for a general of a invasion force. Able to command operations across multiple theaters of war in a local system. Highly mobile with its anti-gravity generators. Armed with six anti-air heavy railguns, four rail cannons against any other possible airships and large ground targets, and eight point defense laser arrays. The Titan is powerful enough to take on anything short of a large air attack or a starship.

Uplifting

The Galdeen has encountered a number of primitive races while exploring space. Most in shambles beyond recovery by themselves or their worlds being in the process of destroying themselves, either by natural or artificial causes. Whatever the case. the Galdeen attempt to repair the damage done, in secret or actively, depending on the locals' reaction.

There are a few races that haven't nearly destroyed themselves almost all of them are tribals using wooden spears and straw huts. One is about to begin their Industrial Revolution.

Out of every race they found, one race was accepted as a member world of the Galdeen Coalition. They called themselves the Luur, a race of aquatic mammals. When a survey vessel of the Galdeen Colonial Administration warped into their home system and scanned it. A pirate force was in orbit around their homeworld of Gliir. The pirates had released a air-borne virus into the atmosphere with horrible results, nearly two billion out of the 4 1/2 billion population had died by the time the survey vessel arrived and the pirates were demanding total control and enslavement. The local governments were secretly constructing a arkship that will carry most of their population to a nearby system, yet because the pirates had total orbital control, they wouldn't make it pass low orbit.

The survey ship quickly returned to Galieen and reported to situation to the Military High Command and they responded by sending a full fledged battle fleet. When fleet arrived, they caught the pirates by surprise just as they were about to engage the arkship. The admiral and diplomat that was aboard assured the Luur they were friendly and when they scanned the virus, they discovered the virus was just the Galdeen's equivalent to the common cold which was eliminated on their homeworld. A cure was quickly made and the Luur were quick to recover with help from the Galdeen.

As pliots, the Luur were among the best in the known galaxy because they always think in 3-D unlike most races that evolved on land. They made excellent fighter pliots, even better than the Galdeen. They made the Luur their official military fighter pilots and allowed them to construct their own fighters. With the assistance of Galdeen engineering and Luur designers. They made a fighter that outmatched almost any Galdeen fighter. Since just about every fighter in the Galdeen Interstellar Navy is piloted by the aquatic Luur, carriers and escort carriers are built with special compartments for them to shed their environmental suits that are filled with liquid oxygen medium.

That took me a long time to make, still feel like I'm missing something though. . . Oh well, its good anyway. Oh! And the Luur look like slightly larger dolphins with extra fins and another set of eyes.

Oh wait. . . That was what I forgot to put in. And they ain't Earth dolphins, they're ALIEN dolphins.

Diplomacy

When the Galdeen started colonizing their surrounding systems, they make sure that just about every starship captain and first officer have basic training in diplomacy. Even though a fully trained diplomatic expert is advised to be the one talking to any newly discovered aliens, the Diplomatic Corps can't put one on every starship, so they'll settle with the captains talking to the aliens until a ambassador can be sent.

When speaking, a Galdeen will attempt to try and find some common ground to work on, like mathematics or something else. Until a successful translation is reached, they will try pointing at him/herself and saying their race's name over and try to use mathematics to talk to any alien until they understand and they will work from there.

Before the First Contact, many in the Galdeen Coalition have wondered why they haven't discovered any advance space-faring civilizations yet. After the First Contact, the reason for that was revealed that Galieen was in a fairly large pocket of unexplored space. As of the year 1225 AGW, 200 lightyears of unexplored space separated the Galdeen from the rest of the civilized space.

The Galdeen warpgate at Dakios became invaluable then because it was the only gate connecting the Galdeen Coalition to the heavily protected warpgate in civilized space.

I was wondering, are we allowed to have psychic members of our races? I want to add some telepathic Galdeen, nothing too fancy like creating and throwing fireballs, more like whats generally expected like moving and throwing objects with your mind and talking to people using your mind. I want to know if its allowed though.

Creating fireballs isn't too fancy. Theoretically speaking, anyone with teleknesis also has pyroknesis, because you could teleknetically vibrate the air to the point the friction creates fire.

That's why teleknesis is probably a gimmic, because you can't interact with something if you can't touch it.

Isn't everything we're making here fictional?

Let me rephrase what I said. Its like asking how to make a real life anti-matter weapon that doesn't kill the user, let alone trying to produce the stuff. We don't know.

We have a good idea of how the brain works, even if we didn't telekinessis would still be out of the question. Besides the obviouss, there isn't close to enough electrical energy in your body to manipulate objects.

Ok... I'll just stick with the telepaths.

I wanted to introduce them as members of a colony getting exposed to a radioactive crystals used in the construction of warp drives because of a cargo spill. Some of the exposed die and the rest are given medical treatment. Several years after the incident, their children start showing signs of telepathy, empathy, mind reading, you get the picture.

When you think about, telekinesis is actually pretty easy to do. You just need to have a pretty big neural organs, and a biological system that allows for high-levels of electromagentic output.

Essentially, it's not that hard for creatures like Wexxians and *Viri Voltei to do telekinetic feats.

*Not meant as a plug. I'm just too lazy to scour for other examples in the CC.

Telepathy shouldn't be too much of a problem, so long as it is limited to reading members of the same race.  Such things do have a basis in reality, with hiveminds and whatnot.  Other races would just be too radically different for it to work though.

If the race is artificial or bred (like CC slave races) an organic signal cracker/ wireless hacker method (with the Brains as the computers) is a plausible way of writing it in.

Just like you can hack into a wi-fi computer  (or use spyware) by portraying brains as wi-fi computers you could semi-plausibly "hack" them.

Right Yuu, although in this case it would be a Brain evolved (or designed) to hack into other brains like a computer (which, technically it would be.)

The Project

A secret project started by the Galdeen Military High Command in 1216 AGW, based in the Mekios solar system, no one really knows what it's propose is. There are many rumors stating on what they're building at Mekios, the most likely based on all the new technology being researched and transmitted, number of starships and personal, and sheer amount of materials being sent there, is that they're building a massive starship. This theory was reinforced when a civilian freighter scanned a suspicious military convey carrying parts for what looks to be a massive engine that no current Mark 1 or 2 ships could use. Some say this could be the rumored Mark 3 starship, a vessel even bigger than the Mark 2 Type 2 carrier.

At 1227 AGW, a month after the first Galdeen singularity generator was successfully tested, intended to replace the aging hydrogen and fusion reactors as city and Mark 2 ship reactors. A unusual anomaly that strangely matched the readings recorded during the singularity generator testing, was detected in the Mekios star system and was moving, soon after, the military declared martial law in the entire system. This prompted a smuggler to look to see what was happening in the system and to see if he can confirm the rumors surrounding the system. He returned a three hours later with heavy damage to his ship. He says he saw the biggest ship hes ever seen, partially constructed, but mobile. He also reported he detected readings that match that of a artificial singularity.

None of this can be confirmed though as the smuggler was suffering from some delusions from massive blood loss, but this is the only proof anyone has gotten on what the military is doing at Mekios. No further attempts to investigate was attempted as the number of patrolling ships tripled making it nearly impossible to get in without anyone noticing.

Thats all I have for tonight. Give me any suggestions you have for this.

Plasma Technology

Plasma technology has been in research since the year 1201 AGW. The original reason for this was because of theorists saying that by 1250 AGW, the power need for Galieen and all of the colonies would exceed the power output of current and likely future versions of hydrogen and fusion reactors. Scientists said that plasma would be the most likely technology they could research and complete within a reasonable time frame. Even then, it took decades to master.

As of 1234 AGW, plasma technology is perfected and the first safe and efficient plasma generators are constructed on New Galieen. The generators' output is twice as much of that of the most advance fusion generator at the time. Soon, more compact and efficient generators were made for use on starships.

But not long after, the Military High Command ordered research to begin in using plasma as a weapon. With the Tri-Wexxian Empire's galaxy-wide message and the First Contact with the rest of galactic civilization, railgun weaponry were deemed to be not enough to face any hostile aliens. It took 3 standard Galieen years, but two usable types of plasma weaponry were made that soon became the norm of Galdeen starship weaponry.

The first plasma weapon is the Plasma Pulse emitter. The name is mostly self-explanatory except its guided. As with the needed energy field to contain the plasma, scientists improved the field's radius and be able to guide the plasma pulse round so warships don't have to reposition itself to fire. Because of this, a warship can fire all of it's pulse emitters in any direction and as a bonus, it can use the same type of emitter as point-defense lasers.

The second plasma weapon is the Plasma Torpedo launcher. What makes it different from the pulse weapon is that it Launcher first charges up a large blob of plasma, and shoots it anywhere within 160 degrees of the direction the launcher is facing, generally at the front end of the ship. When fired, the torpedo is slower than a pulse round, but more destructive. Most types of shielding aren't able to block the heat the torpedo is generating and depending on the materials used in the construction of the hull, starts melting, weakening its strength and making it a "softer" target.

Other devices made using plasma technology is plasma flares used by fighters and bombers to counter head-seeking weaponry, much better than the regular flares. Infantry plasma weapons are quickly replacing laser-based cannons and are likely going to replace the railguns in the future.

(Note: I have added several things to the History section if your interested.)

Mark 3 Titan

On the year 1240 AGW, the Project was completed and the much rumored about Mark 3 mothership eased out of the construction yards of the Mekios system. Originally, the ship was supposed to be a somewhat larger and more powerful Mark 2, but with the massive amount of new technology discovered over the decades, the Project was changed to make a ship bigger and better than any ship ever constructed before, a Mark 3 starship. The Mark 3 ship was dubbed the Titan made flagship of the entire Interstellar Space Navy with Lord Admiral Huki Monka in command.

The Titan is a leap in ship design, using access to the new and stronger metals and alloys the Space Union has, making the Titan strongest in terms of armor plating in the entire Galdeen sector. The Titan and future Mk 3 Type 1 "titans" are armed with hundreds of plasma pulse and torpedo emitters with several heavy plasma cannons and a powerful spinal-mounted magnetic accelerator cannons dubbed the Impactor Cannon. And thats not including the point defense lasers, and forward particle lance cannons and thanks to the unique power source that powers the Titan, makes it's plasma and laser weapons have a longer range. (Last time I checked, the longer range you want your energy weapons to be, the more power it takes to contain the destructive energy) And with two dozen shield generators all over the ship, adding to the power generator core, makes the ship's shields very hard to crack.

The primary energy source that powers the Titan is not of any known origin. In fact, it was found by a patrolling ship in 1239 AGW on a derelict wreck. Nothing that was on the wreck was made by any of the known races of the galaxy, suggesting that it either came from a race that chooses to hide themselves, or come from another galaxy. The generator proved to be intact, even though it was shaped strangely like a half ring. When it was fitted onto the Titan and tested, it used a singularity as a power source and overloaded every power conduit on the ship. A improved power grid was installed and it could handle the massive amount of energy generated by the core.

The singularity core proved invaluable for powering the wormhole drive made by Galdeen scientists with assistance from the Space Union. The power requirement was so massive, it required a entire planetary power grid just to make 100 light-year jumps. With the singularity core powering it, its estimated that it can 50,000 light-year jumps, maybe even to the other side of the galaxy in one jump.

Overall, the Titan is powerful enough to be able to take on a medium sized fleet by itself. Because of that, the mere mention of the Titan heading to any Coalition system instantly silences any pirate activity there. The Titan and later its successors are much feared.

And this is the result of the Project, though I doubt we'll be seeing the Titan for a good while. This is a true mothership, it can carry hundreds, if not over a thousand fighter craft. Enough landing ships to transport the literal army thats onboard for planetary invasions.

EDIT: This is my third version of it.

Lush has hit the nail on the head.  There's basing your design on something, and then there's drawing something exactly, doing a palletswap and adding thrusters.

...when the generator went active, the radiation would just radiate harmlessly into space.
Yeah, in our galaxy of billions of sapient beings flying throughout the cosmos, all that radiation is perfectly harmless, even to those on a planet.

...And the cancer rate of our fair planet Xorgonia VIII has sadly tripled within the past decade. What monsters might be responsible? We may never know.

Actually, since most of our travel is in Hyperspace or similar warp dimensions, there really is a very small area of the already immense expasne of the galaxy that is actualy used for Realspace travel. There's nothing wrong with the concept just the desgn I suggest looking at the Legion of Super-Heroes Threeboot comics, there Warp-Gates are pretty good-looking.

I don't know that I would call hyperspace a warp dimension. It's just the place inside a wormhole.

I tried looking on google for it, even went to the website for it. Couldn't find a image of it. But then again, I only just heard of about it 15 minutes ago.

Don't stars, supernovas, and some types of anomalies emit radiation? Heck, if I'm correct, blackholes create anti-matter. With the amount emitted by the stars, supernovas, and whatever, the amount emitted by the singularity core is nothing compared to that.

Besides, haven't your races already created ways to block all that radiation?

He's got you beat on that. I'd assume most Space Ships capable of FTL travel would be pretty resistant to radiation.

You’re not getting my point UFO. Because FTL travel within "normal" movement is impossible the vast majority of travel doesn’t take place anywhere near where radiation would be. And even if it were, space is so big there’d have to be literally trillions of them to make the Galaxy the nuclear waste dump you're describing, unless they were deliberately placed in high traffic zones. (Which is still rather stupid as space is rather large and a "high traffic zone" would be miles in diameter). Besides any ship capable of the feats we’ve shown them would have to be radiation proof so theirs really no problem.

I have updated the Titan. I changed the design completely. The singularity is smaller and contained within the ship and it has a shield cap for travel through a wormhole. Who said wormholes didn't have massive amounts of radiation in it?

I'll also have a new Mark 3 design done maybe later today. Heres a hint, its a gate ship.

Gate Ship

Ever since the first Galdeen fleets began traveling out of Galdeen Coalition and later, Stellar Republic space, there has been the problem of fleet logistics. In Coalition/Republic space, ships were never farther than a few light-years away from a Warp gate, so if something happened, help was just at most several minutes away. Outside of Galdeen space though, ships and fleets had to depend on supplies they had brought along and other race's ships if they were in trouble, and help would take hours and sometimes days to get to them.

At early 1242 AGW, Lord Admiral Huki suggested attaching a warp gate under one of the half-way constructed Mark 3 Titans. The commanding officer considered it and ordered a spare warp gate to be deconstructed and reassembled the gate onto the bottom half of a Titan. Once the gate and singularity core was online, it was tested. Within a minute, the gate had connected with the gate network and a Mark 1 destroyer successfully went through intact. Once the ship was near completion, the ship was moved beyond the Dakios gate. The wait time was the same, within a minute. About a week later, construction was finished and the ship was dubbed the "Galieen's Reach".

In terms of weapons, the ships has a hundred or so less secondary weapons and a smaller number of heavy plasma turrets, but still keeps the Impactor Cannon. Defensive armor and systems are unchanged from the Type 1. The warp gate requires so much power, that even with a singularity core powering it, its required to divert more of the ship's power to operate the gate. So when the gate needs to be activated, the Reach must shut down the engines and wormhole drive core to do so.

As of 1244 AGW, the S.R.N.S. (Stellar Republic Navy Spaceship) Galieen's Reach is stationed with Task Force Alpha, the Galdeen's primary fleet outside of their sector along with the Mark 3 Type 1s S.R.N.S. Titan and S.R.N.S. Leviathan.

And there is my gate ship! Sorry for not posting it yesterday.

Next up! Specialized starships!

Warp Gates to Star Gates

With wormhole drives going into mass production to be equipped on the many Mark 3s that are being constructed, some thought about equipping the Warp Gates with wormhole technology, but they were a minority. At 1244 AGW, the Luur councilman suggested to the Republic's High Council that because the wormhole technology was very much superior to that of the old warp system.

The Coucil considered and accepted the suggestion and proceeded with a massive refit of the warp gate network. That was when workers started called the remade gates "Star Gates". The name quickly stuck. At 1245 AGW, the Star Gate network became fully online.

I just didn't like the name Warp Gate anymore, and that wormhole tech could be used to refit the gate network so...

Also, I'm planning to make a ship type that will lead civilian convoys through the gates intact and alive. Remember the radiation?
