Rose's Emily Dickinson side-track in an early pesterlog with Dave is pretty much eternally burned into my mind as one of the funniest things I've ever experienced.

That and the WRINKLE****ER! *HSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!*

Welp, that's it. No more pauses. Just daily updates between now and the 13th finally concluding Homerschmuck once and for all.

Well, that ending raised more questions than it answered. I really hope there's an epilogue in store.

I guess it's befitting of Homestuck's shenanigans that the story doesn't actually show you the ultimate conclusion or explain it in any way but... yeah, setting up this huge convoluted villain and an equally convoluted solution to the villain and then not really showing or explaining any of that solution feels a bit weak. Particularly since time allocated to writing long, meandering chatlogs about nothing could have been devoted to actually explaining what's going on.

On the other hand I think actually we probably have enough information to go on in terms of what's been set up to figure out what's likely to happen "next"

i mean i guess we basically know what happened but like
holy hell dude talk about unsatisfying

i like the comic but if i can criticize it for anything it's its unevenness. some areas are dense and others are thin as hell.
i thought this was thinner than thin. collide was fun and all and that animation was neat but god damn, everything went perfectly in a comic where nothing goes perfectly. zero room for drama or hell, one line of goddamned dialogue. what the hell dude
i guess in the realm of possibility it can happen and was probably bound to happen eventually but

i just really don't care about anything right now. this is just going to make it harder to get invested in anything for awhile.

"lol hey maybe ill make an epilogue eventually but nbd no rush"
jesus.

i am hoping this is a joke but somehow i doubt it.
so im going to sit here and be mad about it for a couple months.

A part of me thinks there are still some loose ends that might also be answered in the video game he's making. So in a sense, yes two epilogues. One in the comic, another part in the game.

Naaaah, the game is explicitly confirmed to be a prequel with at best tangential relevance to Homestuck (it's just about some doofy kids and trolls on Beta Earth and Alternia prior to the events of the comic)

As some people have pointed out Problem Sleuth also had an incredibly unsatisfying ending which was then rectified in an epilogue which tied up a bunch of loose ends.

I'm not gonna say I'm totally cool with that "ending" since it was indeed very thin and left no drama. The climax in Collide really felt like four miniboss fights rather than an ultimate conclusion to anything, just buying time in their universe to get stuff done without balla troll bitches and Jack Noirs running around causing trouble. However, we already basically know things how are going to play out from now anyway. The story has always been pretty nonlinear, and Caliborn's "Masterpiece" claymation intermission spells out pretty explicitly how things go down in the future (he says those events happen long after the "story" has finished, to boot)

The first epilogue will be posted June 12, and the second will be posted October 25.

Kill me.

That was a joke, in case it wasn't clear.

AWWWW YEAH, more PAUSES!

The best part of Homestuck has always been the pauses if you ask me ;-D
