Back in my day, people still died when they got old, they still ate food, and they still needed medicine. Also, they couldn't talk to trees, and they weren't plants.
Who are you again and why in the world would you expect anything resembling rationality or civility in youtube comments?

Well I think you have all (well, not all.  Just Lush, rys and Octagonapus) well and properley missed the point to this exercise.  It's not about saying things from a future standpoint, it's about thinking about the world as it is now, and how much it has changed in our short lifetimes.

For instance, back in my day your computer yelled at you any time you wanted to get on the internet.

Oh, ok...

Back in my day, people didn't know what color any dinosaur was, there were no Walfas, and they made good RTS's every once in a while.

Oh really, well back in my day the best videogame you could hope for was telling an 8 bit Italian plumber what to do.

Back in my day you had to sit in the light to see your Game Boy screen!
Back in my day you had to plug a memory pack in your controller to save your game. (Okay, only a few games, but still. I'm looking at you, Rush 2049.)
Back in my day you had to carry around a CD-player if you wanted to listen to music on the go, oh and if you wanted a practical portable digital media you had to have a freakin floppy drive.
Back in my day only the cool kids had DVD players.

Side note: Can you believe there are people around now that can walk and talk and do arithmetic who weren't even alive on 9/11?

As I have said before...

Back in my day, there weren't so many networking sites and most people still typed legibly.

Back in my day, we had a choice: using the phone, or going on the internet.

And by gum, it made a god-awful noise using dial-up.

No, a few years ago Pluto was classed as a planet, and the idea of water being on other planets was just a conspiracy theory.

Back in my day CartoonNetwork actually had cartoons and not live shows.

You'll never know why.
