Japan: Give Japan an Ocean start bias

Japan: Zero no longer requires Oil
Indonesia: Indonesian Candi no longer requires Fresh Water.
America: American Minuteman now has an additional promotion to earn points toward Golden Ages with kills.

Coming to the end of my current Civ jaunt. Civ V in particular.

Been tinkering with some 15-player, large map games on varying difficulties (usually Emperor). The one thing I'm doing to keep things interesting is cranking up the technology slider. Gonna try my first ever game (kinda surprised I never tried this before) with all techs researched and the aforementioned settings on a lakes map, I think.

Anyone else playing currently?

I was thinking of starting up again. I need something easy and time-consuming to play instead of while watching Twitch streams.

Banished is worth a look if you can burn $20.

No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

Was looking at that. Guess I'll try it! (when I can get to the bank)

It's fun but a little bare-bones. Hoping the mod-kit comes soon, what's there is polished and it looks like a good platform.

Do you guys know if the game is agent-based?

From what I understand, yes. Though my understanding of both what "agent-based" means in the nitty gritty, and what Banished does, is a little... lacking.

I can tell you that each person is a single entity, and they have seperate wants/desires/needs, however bare-bones they are (Basically, food/heat/tool/clothing, as well as happiness/health stats that are affected by diversity of food and various structures you can build), instead of a statistical approach of "Well you have 10 sick people so we'll select ten people to display sickness."

If a bloke goes across the map to get iron and thereby gets hungry, it'll be him getting hungry, not some other guy. Diseases are also like that, only people near someone sick have a chance of catching it themselves. (Don't quote me on that. I know it's at least MUCH MORE likely for someone really close to get sick, but it may well be possible for someone somewhere else to catch it)

However, people don't have skills or anything like that. If you need a blacksmith, you turn one of your people into a blacksmith, and he'll be as adept at blacksmithing as someone doing it for 20 years, all things being equal. (Same tool level, same happiness/health, and live the same distance away so one isn't spending more time walking than the other)

Alright, thanks!

I was hoping it would be like this. It's also nice to hear that a person's "self" is consistent, and that their wants and needs don't just pass from agent to agent depending on their location.

Just be careful not to send guys on trips to get resources a far walk away. They are slow and stupid and may starve.

Anyone up for a game of civ?
We could all get together and stab eachother in the back.
Already have a few people who would be willing to play some, but a few more wouldnt hurt.

Not sure what settings we would go for, long or short, type of map etc.
But I guess we could put that to a vote.
Oh, and with expansions of course.

I'd be down. Haven't played in a while, would be liable to go down fairly quick, but hey. It'd be fun.

When would it be?

Hey I suck too. But I'll play if we can schedule a good date! :D

The only real issue here is DLC. Civ V is donk so if everyone owns Brave New World but Joe doesn't, nobody gets to use BNW. I think that's how it goes. Could be wrong, but I've been looking it up and it seems to be the case. Thoughts?

**EDIT**
Oh, for the record, I want to play with all DLC if possible. G+K and BNW are more or less essential.

ALSO! Pinstar was asking if he could record the match and upload it to Youtube if he decided to play. Would that present any issues for anyone?

Nah, that could be fun to see.
Might need to be edited though, don't think anyone would be interested watching the downtime parts.

And we could play whenever we have enough folks together. Maybe even as soon as tomorrow.
Maybe everyone who plans to join should post here so we can do an easy headcount.
And maybe also say when you're available, so we can set a time.
DLC are pretty much required, civ 5 without expansions is kind of dull.
