Felron Orbit, Coalition Reserve Fleets, Orealyianis Monarchy First Fleet, Vara Orealyianis, Main Bridge

"So far so good.", Shanara said, cautious of the Combine's next move. "What's the status on the rear?"

//Gathering data from all coalition auxiliary formations...

All units prepped for engagement if necessary, Admiral.//, answered the vessel's AI.

"Good. Formulate reserve strategies for any sudden offensives from irregular angles."

Felron Orbit, Coalition Reserve Fleets, Luzonian Knighthood Fifth Fleet, LKS Aguiso, Bridge

As the battle raged on in front, the vessels stationed on reserve constantly kept an eye in the ensuing carnage in Felron's orbit.

Captain Tali looked intently at the bridge's main monitor as the small destroyer-type craft scanned the far off edge of the Combine planet's dust-filled horizon. They were looking for any signs of flanking maneuvers coming from that direction, in hopes of alerting the rest of the fleets and allowing it to be intercepted as early as possible.

The captain, however, wasn't expecting to see what finally turned up on the LKS Aguiso's sensor readings.

"A funky stack of Flueluvu nuggets hanging on top of a flagpole on the uppermost levels of the Royal Palace in Shudariadne during a massive earthquake caused by a barfight between King Axon and the most famous members of the Rise Religion, what was that?!", she said after seeing a vessel of somewhat familiar design orbiting Felron somewhere on the sidelines.

"Contact central command NOW!"

Felron Orbit, Photos Fleet

A top-priority message entered the flagship's inbox.

"I think there's something you'd like to tell us that you haven't told us yet...", it said in the Luzonians' native language, with a Photose translation just below it.

Attached to the message were images taken of Ki'una's formerly clandestine vessel.

"We've sent the same message to all other coalition flagships. Whoever is responsible for this has got A LOT of explaining to do..."

Ki'una sent a response to the message:
I am responsable. I came up with a plan to strike at the core of the Core Combine military, and I have executed it. I have an elite squad on the planet, inside the HQ. If you are angry, I will accept my punishment gladly if it means we win the war. I-*explosion, Ki'una looks away from the recorder* What in the world was that!?! *vocals in background, looks back at recorder* I'm gonna have to cut it short, the Core Combine are really ticked at us right now. Ki'una, out!'
Ki'una sent the message. He turned.
"Alright, people, damage report!" He ordered. All around him, various operators started reading off status reports. As they read off, he turned his head to the planet below him. "I hope our strike team made it..." He thought to himself.
"OK people, Alpha-pattern maneuver! Optimise shield power to areas of most damage, pull 50% auxiliary power to weapons, let's get these buggers off our case!"He ordered. The lone dreadnought picked off one enemy, then two, then three. For one ship, the Photos were giving the Core Combine one decent run for their money.

Planet Felron, unknown Core Combine structure, presumed to be their Headquarters
"Defensive positions!" Ordered Fre'val, the leader of the Photos squad sent down to Felron. The squad was pinned down about ten feet from the drop pod that had delivered them onto the planet. He fired a grenade from his carbine, which took out a few of the enemy combatants.
"Hy'ven! Lace this hallway with plasma!" He ordered to the heavy weapons specialist of the squad. Hy'ven stepped out, planting his feet and firing his Heavy Plasma Carbine from the hip. The machinegun type weapon fired plasma blasts very fast, and within a short time, almost three dozen dead Core Combine troopers lay sprawled out on the floor.

Felron Surface

Whatever the Perrachi where probably expecting… they didn’t get it… if they were expecting cries for mercy… they didn’t get it… if they were expecting a pitiful surrender… they didn’t get it… If they were expecting a large mouthful of rail gun, gravity missiles, and every other weapon the Core Combine ships had at their disposal all with a nice dose of hatred… then they got more than enough of that…

Felron’s surface, its underground was devastated by Perrachi bombardment. The loss of Felron was indeed greatly felt… any race would have likely been morally devastated by the loss of a homeworld… but not the Core Combine, they were incapable of such emotions, instead all it did inspire hatred…

Indeed… they would pay dearly for this..

Planet Felron, unknown Core Combine structure, presumed to be their Headquarters

With each soldier the Photos seem to take out five more seem to take his place, more and more of the Core Combines elite forces began to step out of active camo, ambushing the Photos squad where ever it went, and this time they were beginning to see a bit more variety in their soldiers, a large amount of rubble suddenly burst, revealing a massive Core Combine monster about the size of rancor and it was hefting a big fuel rod cannon… it then fired…

Felron Orbit

As said before… the Core Combine did not even flinch at the Perrachi’s power… fear was an emotion they were not truly capable of feeling, in fact, now finally they had a target to focus on, so far the Perrachi battle cruisers where proving the biggest threat with their OMNL’s so the Combine ships primarily focused on them, most specifically, they aimed their weapons at the massive rail gun turrents, which stuck out like sore thumbs making them easy to individually target, first they would take out its deadliest weapon, then they would take out the ship its self…

Multiple special disruptions could be detected as Core Combine reinforcements began to appear from other sections of space, they were attempting to flank the Perrachi ships and hit them from behind a second group split off as well to flank the other side….

Felron Orbit, Coalition Reserve Fleets, Orealyianis Monarchy First Fleet, Vara Orealyianis, Main Bridge

//Multiple hostile formations detected...

Alerting all coalition auxiliary formations...

Prioritizing compatible directives...//, the AI reported.

"They finally came for the rest of us, huh?", Shanara said confidently. They weren't going to let the Combine get away with any plans of flanking the reserves. "Approve all directives."

//Affirmative...

Response from all other coalition auxiliary formations confirmed...//

"Good."

Felron Orbit, Coalition Reserve Fleets

Several detachments from the coalition's reserve fleets quickly sprang into action.

The flankers promptly encountered an extremely warm welcome.

The Orealyianis' frigates and destroyers plastered the Combine with a massive array of SEACESSV cannons and MLMs. Elsewhere, phase ships, each with a compliment of infiltrators, started picking off the more dug in components of the enemy's fleets. At the rear of the detachments, the carriers began pumping out large volumes of variable armors of every kind, all the while unleashing their own wave of fury.

The Luzonian, Marakiri and Chivi detachments also proceeded to rain down punishment over the Combine assailants. The three's warvessels released salvos upon salvos of high-reaction missiles towards the enemy as their main plasma cannons hurled massive chunks of super-heated material straight towards the more hardier battleships. Their variable armors, on the other hand, took to the battle with a more hands-on approach, fighting alongside the Chivi's space armors and the Marakiri's high-maneuverability fighters as they hacked and shot their way towards the hostile formations.

The Choro Deidalus forces took a more auxiliary role as they provided fire support for the main defenders, all the while recording the fight for more intensive analysis back at home.

The Atomna's otherworldly way of battle quickly began to show as multiple formations punched their way into the very heart of the Combine ambushers, some of them even having the audacity, or outright insanity, to warp themselves directly into the enemy crafts' interiors. Some of the enemy's larger warcrafts eventually started to falter due to the massive internal damage caused by the semi-singularity's unconventional skirmishes within their interiors.

The story was the same for the others in the reserve who were also repelling the Combine's push. The only thing that varied was who was doing it and how.

The Photos forces were the last to enter the fray in the space around Felron. When the massive Superjuggernaut dropped out of warp, it dwarfed the ships around it.The mighty ship unleashed a maelstrom of firepower upon the Core Combine forces, already decimated from the combined efforts of the forces already there. To top off the incredible destruction, the Antimatter Cannon unleashed a massive beam of antimatter. It caught several ships in the beam, completely annihilated down to the atomic level. This was the most powerful ship in the Photos armada, and it meant business.

Planet Felron; Core Combine structure
Fre'val was pressing his options. He fired a grenade from his carbine at the incoming blasts, giving them a little breathing room.
"Jo'ras! We need an opening to get through!" He yelled over the firefight, to the Xylanis Mechanicus cheif that was with them. He nodded, and charged into the swarm of C.C. soldiers, flinging them left and right with his mechanical limbs. Within seconds, he had smashed countless soldiers down. They began to travel down the hallway.
"Remind me not to piss me off." Hy'ven muttered in Fre'val's direction. They made haste down the hall untill they arrived at a large blast door. "Jo'ras approached it, placing a satchel/breach charge on the door. They retreated a small distance, then blew the door, revealing a large elevator, appearing to be for supplies.

Felron Orbit, Coalition reserve fleets

The Core Combine and the GPA forces crashed into each other with a bang, as the GPA unleashed every bit of their fury the Combine unleashed everything they had as well, swarms of frigates and destroyers scrambled in every direction, lashing out at any ship insights, some frigates took the most insane approaches to space warfare and actually went melee… destroyers unleashed volleys of missiles, and fired off their rail guns in order to counter the GPA’s attack.

The hardier battleships crowded around the carriers as was their charge to guard them, they unleashed their weapons on any ship that tried to touch them and took any shots directed at them with stubbornness only a koragon bull of Zaragan IV would show, said carriers did their task of opening up their large four way beaks and unleashing swarms of Combine fighters, which quickly entered into dog fights with the GPA variable and power armors, sometimes entire swarms going melee on the more close combat oriented variants, and the new kamikaze bomber would sometimes fly straight into the GPA’s formations, detonating themselves…

By no means did the Combine not suffer from the GPA’s punishment however, by far the most damaging tactics where the nearly insane maneuvers of the Atomna, a dreadnaught… one of the Combines most powerful ships had its reactor and some other critical parts damaged, it sparked and sputtered before a flash of light and an explosion followed… the second dreadnaught however was hardly fazed and soon targeted a nearby Orealyanis destroyer with its gravity beam, tearing it shreds before unleashing the rest of nearly uncountable weapons on the Combines enemy.

Felron Orbit

The Core Combine continued to fight with everything they had… but…but perhaps it would not be enough… so many species… it was as if the very universe was against them… how could ANY species hope to beat those odds? Was it possible? Indeed… the Combine had never faced such a large threat like this in their history… but they would persevere… they would fight on… surrender was not an option… failure… was not an option… they would fight on... and they would make shure to give their enemy hell...

P.S. Littany
"SIR!!!"
"What? What? Where's the fire!?!" Ki'una asked humerously in light of their good situation.
"New energy contacts!"
"Core Combine rienforcements?"
"No......Shadow. Several frigates, and two juggernauts."
"Kyhirya!" Ki'una cursed.(and I will not translate as I would get in trouble)He looked up from the operator in time to see a massive wormhole open and several ships materalize.
"Kyhirya... The operator agreed, aghast.

S.S. PBY-753
The commander of the fragment of the Shadow armada opened up a channel with the C.C. command ship.
"Attention Core Combine leaders, we are not hostile. We are here to help you...and we propose an alliance." He said, signaling to target the enemy ships. He saw the P.S. Hyvez.
"Ah, the Photos armada has a big new toy...let's reduce it to scrap." He said, as the ships all opened fire on the Superjuggernaut.

Planet Felron
As the squad of special ops soldiers rode the elevator down, the havoc in orbit was unknown to them. The door opened, revealing a long hallway lined with computer stations. The attached Xylanis Mechanicus cheif sat down at the chair and inserted a portable hardrove to the accessory deck on the computer. He transfered all the data in the Core Combine computer network and then began to implant a decay virus in the network. Once he began, though, an alarm went off.

Felron Orbit, Coalition Reserve Fleets, Orealyianis Monarchy First Fleet, Vara Orealyianis, Main Bridge

"Open the line to the USS Carasillo.", Shanara said as his nipper-mouths pressed the side of his head.

//Opening comms line to USS Carasillo...

Up-link complete.//

"OMS Vara Orealyianis to USS Carasillo.", said the admiral. "Reserve formations sustaining unrelenting fire from multiple directions. Requesting permission to redirect OMS Vara Orealyianis."

There was a moment of comparative silence as the coalition formulated their decision.

//Permission granted.

Afterward, return to formation.

Over and out.//

"Well, I guess that settles it...", the admiral smiled, doubly.

Shanara stood up from his chair and walked towards a nearby hover-platform. Outside, a large, orange variable armor can be seen flying straight towards the bridge, before suddenly making a tight turn and landing on the small hangar situated above.

"You heard it!", he said as the platform steadily rose towards a small portal which opened up in the ceiling above. "Everyone, buckle up..."

"We're moving out!"

Felron Orbit, Coalition Reserve Fleets, Orealyianis Monarchy First Fleet, Vara Orealyianis, Cockpit

It's been quite a long time since I last did this...

"Well, let's get on to it, shall we?", he said as he boarded his royal variable armor.

Entering the cockpit, he stretched out his entire body as an expansive array of mechanical tentacles pierced his body. The door closed behind him and the entire room was soon filled with a strange gel-like substance which oozed from the walls.

Shanara, completely submerged, entered a trance-like state as his thoughts were slowly integrated to the armor itself.

The armor did likewise, securing itself onto the flagship's control network.

It was only a matter of time before Shanara, his variable armor and the entire vessel itself, finally became one.

Felron Orbit, Coalition Reserve Fleets

As the battle waged on between the two factions, a rather familiar form loomed over the distance.

At first glance, it seemed like another variant of the typical Orealyianis variable armor.

However, upon closer inspection, it's true nature was quickly revealed. It was none other than the capital vessel of the Orealyianis Interstellar Navy. The variable fortress...

Vara Orealyianis.

Swarms of variable armors spewed forth from the monolithic vessel, as it's two main SEACESSV cannons charged to maximum capacity before unleashing a savage torrent of seemingly unblockable energy towards an unsuspecting Combine fleet, casting it asunder just as their crews finally realized the destruction that has suddenly befallen them.

As the colossal machine approached the fray, it's many components slowly began to churn as the internal machinery adjusted itself to accommodate the vessel's alternative mode.

It was going for melee.

The mobile fortress extended it's two long arms as it's claws began to glow an intensely bright vermilion. Just as the plasma contained therein almost reached temperatures hot enough to melt through the Vara Orealyianis itself, it swiveled towards the nearest enemy fleet before unleashing the deadly payload right at their faces.

Several vessels survived the onslaught, however, one of which was a rather sturdy dreadnaught.

But instead of outright finishing it off, Shanara had other plans for it...

Felron Orbit, Coalition Reserve Fleets, Orealyianis Monarchy First Fleet, Vara Orealyianis, Main Bridge

"Prepare the manual articulation system!", ordered Shanara as he warmed up for what he was going to do next. "Inform me when the extraction operation is complete!"

Time to play a different kind of ball game...

The P.S. Hyvez was unleashing as many salvos as it could. It's weapons were firing off the hook, close to overloading, including the experimental weapon system on it, which had just come on-line. It was mounted with eight quad barreled railguns which fired beams of plasma. These are able to deal heavy damage to a single point. They are very accurate, but they generate mass amounts of heat and they drain loads of power from the system. These were crippling the Core Combine ships, already pulverised beyond the point of return. The antimatter cannon reached full capacity once again, and the massive craft targeted the Core Combine command ships. It fired, ripping apart virtually hundreds of ships in a huge blast. Unfortunately, this had a repercussion. All the weapons on the ship suddenly stopped firing. The engines stopped. Worst of all, the shields went down.
"Kyhirya,Kyhirya,Kyhirya!" The officer yelled. Apparently, the firing officer got carried away. This type of incident didn't happen in the Photos military often, but when it did, it generally was bad.

Felron Orbit, Dreadnaught Arachnash

Scourge had been contemplating a retreat for quite a while now, bringing in reinforcements to Felron would not be very useful... it was too far gone, it was best to cut their losses and make sure the enemy did not get anything useful from it,

"Attention Core Combine leaders, we are not hostile. We are here to help you...and we propose an alliance."

"Shadow..." Scourge thought immediately with suspicion... the Core and the Shadow had crossed paths one or two times... though it was hard to tell whether they were truly allied or if one was simply plotting to kill the other... indeed put two psychotic races like the Core Combine and the Shadow in the same room and there was no telling what in the universe would happen...

Scourge turned towards another Skrall whom had a number of  wires hooked up to him, //You, send a message while I direct our fleets....retreat.....// He was disgusted just saying the word... //We will accept their proposal for an alliance.//

//Shadow Entity........alliance proposal accepted.....proposed strategy: Felron is a lost cause, as of now we are attempting to save what can be saved and destroying whatever can't, we cannot allow the enemy to gain too much from this loss... direct your fleets to support Combine forces, cover our retreat, we will regroup at a nearby fortress world where there will be further support awaiting us... both from our forces and..... certain others...//

Everywhere the Combine ships where being devastated… it was time to retreat…

//Move the Arachnash away from the battle, all fleets in the area are in full retreat…//

Everywhere the Combine fleets that where the furthest from the battles began to set their coordinates and move into open space where they could warp out unhindered, this included the Arachnash, its fleet, as well as the dreadnaught and the surviving vessels facing the Orealyanis reserve fleets… only the ships that where completly locked in combat where having trouble retreating

Felron

Near one of the Core Combine central data centers a Skrall, his mind hooked up to many machines, suddenly turned his attention to a certain unauthorized access in one of the data centers…

Unfortunately, Core Combine computer technology was mostly mind-machine interface, in other words, it usually worked via a Skrall directly connecting his mind to via cyborg-bionic implants to access the control systems, Had the Chief been enhanced with the compatible implants hacking into the Combines data files would have been a cake walk, but since he was using a console probably operated by mere soldier it forced him to have to bypass a number of security measures which simply got harder and harder with each passing, even worse off was the message now playing off did not sound to hot…

//Data unit detected…..analyzing…… beginning data uploa ERROR…..GENETIC KEY INCOMPATIBLE!//

The security systems on the Core Combines Hive network began to have a panic attack…

//WARNING: UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS DETECTED!//

Then the haunting words were spoken….. The haunting words every hacker feared…

//BEGINNING DATA PURGE!//

Files after files were suddenly being deleted or uploaded towards back up files as a new battle within cyberspace was now being fought… the Chief would have to work fast if he wished to save as much data as he could…

Then the alarms went off… and the whole facility started to shake as the bombardment continued…  then a slight hum could be heard as a door to the hall the Photos where in opened up, but what walked in would surprise them… to any other Photos.. It would have been much more horrible looking… what walked in was in fact another Photos…. But something was very wrong with him…his skin was dark gray… he was covered in strange chitaneous armor on his arms, legs, and part of his back, multiple wire like parts ran throughout his body, some connected to his head… and on his head zero percent of his face was visible, it was an almost oval shaped helmet with a single dominant red eye…

This creature was…no….once was a Photos… there was no telling where he had come from… but he probably once had a family… once had dreams… once had happy memories…. And now he was reduced to this…. A mindless bionic slave….

The former Photos stared at the squad for a few moments before bearing his bionic claws and letting out a horrible screech, he charged the squad with a near homicidal, zombie like rage. His screech seemed to signal others as more screeching could be heard throughout the halls that connected to the control room the Photos where in, the unauthorized access had Combine security banging all over… doors suddenly flew opened revealing hordes of slaves charging through these entrances only the elevator remained mostly clear leaving a possible escape route, there were a variety of species, all who where enslaved by the Core Combine… then had their DNA harvested and then cloned in bio-factories like cattle…. Strange humanoids charge towards the squad bearing claws or bionic nano swords, strange inscectoid creatures crawled upon the walls and ceilings, striking from unexpected angles…

Agnasi does not set out to aimlessly conquer or colonize a world: he calculated it. and The Planet Felron, now no longer inaccessible, was now a rich (by Iavolg standards), uncontrolled world, to be stripped of resources. the Iavolg home-ship would wait for now. a small, unmanned vessel would confirm status, check for faulty data. it was promptly shot out toward Felron, and the warzone. It would arrive in (the time the battle ends

"What in the name of all creation is that!?!" Fre'val  exclaimed. His helmet scanner registered it as a frendly, but this was clearly no longer a Photos. The thing still had armour, so ranged weapons would be inefficient. He drew his plasma sword and lunged at the creature. He countered with the sword, then parried, stabbing it throught the abdomen. He drew his carbine, holding it as a pistol. He fired off rounds and grenades, holding the enemy at bay.
"Anytime now, Jo'ras!" He said over his shoulder to the Cheif.
"I'm working, I'm working, but they added a decay virus of their own. The data is backing itself to a reserve network and deleting itself. I have to be selective in what I copy, and the firewalls aren't making my job any easier!" He shouted with spite. He copied the last file he could and pulled the portable hard drive off the computer. He opened a channel with the Littany above.
"Bring down the "rain of fire"." He said. He nodded a second later. He pointed up. There was a WOOOOOoooooWEEEEEE, then a slam as another drop pod with a drill head bored through the complex. A squad of Xylanis Opairis disembarked, firing off swarms of blasts from their Plasma Cannons, as well as engaging in melee with their larger Plasma Swords. The special ops began to retreat with the data. The cheif was gauging a path through the building. A gunship blasted the wall, and a shuttle landed. They embarked on the shuttle, and the Opairis soldiers. The were swarmed by medics and technitians, checking them and giving them various injections. It was a one in a million shot, but the got most of the data from the network, and the decay virus will destroy the data perminatly. They had done the impossible.

Meanwhile, in orbit of Fortress World A27...

The Riether fleet waited silently, invisible, over the surface of the heavily armed and armored planet below. They were lying in wait of the opposing galactic forces, on orders of the cooperation treaty passed several months ago by leaders of the Core Combine and Riether Empire. The ships were staying in place a good distance from the planet; obviously the galactic forces would be scanning the area in the immediate vicinity of the planet, but they probably wouldn't have the foresight to scan so far out in the outer reaches of A27's gravitational pull.

Leading the fleet was none other than the RIS Dakara. It was the last ship to arrive, after undergoing heavy refits and repairs after the innumerable border skirmishes it endured; it even now bore the scars of battle. As did the Supreme Admiral Vor'Das. Scars that were much more than superficial marks on the skin; they ran deep into his very core, an invisible hatred for all other life besides the Empire, and even then, he wan't too fond of that either.

"What is the status of the engagement fleet, general?" He said in his typical gruff manner. "All ships ready and prepared for engagement. All ships present and accounted for, all ships eager for battle." said the general, far across the huge table in the war room, recently added to the Dakara for fleet coordination. "And the reserve fleet? How are they faring?" He said. No Riether has ever been accused of being excessively courteous. "All ships present, sir, they are however still preparing themselves."

"Well then GET THEM FINISHED PREPARING. Just because they're the reserve doesn't bean they can afford to be lazy!" The Admiral said angrily. Recently he had been rather on edge, even for his species. A Riether on edge isn't one you want to mess with. "Yessir..." the general said. He spoke into the communicator on his chair, a simple order to the reserve fleet general: "GET MOVING!" he said loudly, and turned the comm off before he could hear the response.

"I have a bad feeling about this..." The Admiral thought to himself.

Felron Orbit, Vara Orealyianis, Cockpit

"Let's do this...

Felron Orbit

The giant fortress moved it's arms toward the heavily immobilized dreadnaught, clamping it's massive claws onto the Combine vessel. All over the Vara Orealyianis, thousands upon thousands of thrusters sprang into action, creating a visible distortion over the space around them. Slowly, but surely, the thrusters dragged the ship's entirety towards a favorable position in Felron's orbit.

The Combine planet was now going to get a dose of it's own medicine.

Quickly, the Vara Orealyianis hurled the captive dreadnaught straight for a collision course with the already battered planet, aiming directly for the weak point that was the Photos's drop site.

It's estimated time of impact left a wide enough window of time for the Photos commandos to get themselves to safety.

The shuttle exited the atmosphere of Felron, dodging stray blasts aimed at the Littany. It docked with the ship, and the soldiers on board were back on friendly ground. They uploaded the data into the ship's mainframe. Ki'una sent a message to the Orealyianis flagship:
We have recovered the Core Combine mainframe data from their headquarters on Felron. I know we went against orders, but this data carries every Core Combine blueprint, fleet plan, colony location. This data means we could effectively combat them. Well, at least what data we could get. They began to transfer their data to a backup network and delete the origional. We got what we could before everything was deleted. Anyway, send a GPA official, and I shall give them a copy. Ki'una, out!
