That's fine with me. Should we go with that?

I for one like it, obviously. It also means an entirely different reaction to both the Slorv and the Hydron. Though I won't say what.

I'll get to work on the first post;

But first, do the Hydron have an advanced space program or something? Same question to Josasa.

Well they have essentially our (human) level of a space program. The only difference is they can leave their solar system due to their lifespan and diet.

You're forgetting that such travel is also very hard on one's psyche. Humans already have enough trouble with it.

Yes. The Slorv aren't very advanced but they have fully colonized their star system with several massive colonies on the terrestrial planets and several space stations around those planets that aren't so friendly. They are very industrialized, just not very far along in tech.

@razo:
Humans have emotions. Hydron are emotionless so space travel isn't hard on them.

Actually, emotions are vital to sentience. They help in decision-making and cooperation, and while it is essential to balance them with logic, a purely logical creature would run into many problems. For example, if a completely logical creature came across two plates of food that were 100% identical, it could not choose which one to eat because that would require an emotional preference.

Carry on.

We'll call it Slorv for simplicities sake. They are very vain creatures.

I suppose, considering what happened.

edit - You don't want me to make the first move, badger. I'll flip a coin and decide whether to attack or not if you don't do something first.  :P

Well the hydron have no reason to act. They aren't afraid or anything. They assume that if they need to perform an action it might as well be a reacton. That way they don't accidentally create a potentially dangerous situation.

Not reacting can be as bad a decision, like playing dead for a bear because you think the bear will go away, when the bear might very well bite you to check.
