[EY] The Extended Yuuniverse
« on: December 05, 2009, 07:09:46 pm »
Recently, I've been struggling with myself on how to introduce some of my stuff into the current universe, since a.) most of them involve a level of magnitude which is a bit too silly for the current universe and b.) my Terran-Ixian thread is quite messy as it is. So finally, I made up my mind to post information regarding the Terran-Ixians' associates, and the relationships that bind them together, into this thread.

Expect this thread to be updated sporadically, whenever I got some time, mmkay?

     That's about it, for now.

The Spores

Long long ago, though not far far away, there existed a small, seemingly irrelevant dot of pure, unadulterated energy. It was very content with it's life back then, floating gently across the void while passing by, or going straight through, it's larger, more mature, neighbors.

This, however, was not to last forever.

After realizing the full potential of his abilities, the tiny dot exploded in a flurry of magnificent bright light, growing larger and larger as the eons went by, eventually becoming large enough to support the stars and the planets that we depend our life upon to this very day.

     ~Anonymous

Not long after the birth of the first stars, massive devices of otherworldly origin began popping up in a relatively small, star-forming region neither too close, nor too far away, from the epicenter of the great expansion.

These devices gave birth to something that was quite new to the universe. Something that it has never experienced before.

     Life.

Known only as "Spores" these devices seemed to serve one specific purpose.

To bring life safely to the shores of the new universe.

Pictured: One of the devices seen here being orbited by a pair of young stars. The device is gathering data from it's surroundings to facilitate it's passenger's assimilation.

Through an act that seemed like magic, the devices allowed it's passengers to assimilate themselves into their new environment. It was as if the devices copied the universe's physical laws and used it to change the occupants' sub-physical structure, allowing them to exist freely, and with a high level of physical stability.

After releasing their contents out into the great void, the devices were never heard from again.

Still, even with their passing, they have already accomplished their sole reason for existence.

The Universal Administrators will continue their mission from here on out.

The Universal Administrators

Long long ago, in a corner of the universe far far away. There lived a race that was very blessed. They had riches of all kinds, they did not thirst nor hunger, they did not shed a single tear of sadness nor regret.

Universal Administrators, they were called. Springing forth from the Spores, they used their power to regulate the flow of order and chaos throughout the corner of the universe, creating smaller forms of life in the process. Using their knowledge, they raised the low and lowered the high, making sure that everyone, and everything, had their proper place set for them within the dominion.

After finishing their work, the Administrators prepared to journey to a place well beyond the stars, back to the one true place where they originally came from. Knowing that they shall be absent for a long period of time, they created a very special people, which they then gave a portion of their vast knowledge and power to tend to the great masterpiece while they were on their way. However, that is a whole other story, set for another time.

Bathariadne

Bathariadne, leader of the Universal Administrators and the chief coordinator of their colonization efforts. He was the first to come out of his vessel, alongside his twin brother, Zephiriadne.

His power and brilliance is unrivaled by almost all other Universal Administrators, who view him with great respect. And he doesn't disappoint, as has been proven by his seemingly flawless, billion year rule.

However, despite all of his honors, he is a very down to earth person, often living amongst the planet-dwellers whom he considers as one his greatest treasures.

Pictured: Bathariadne using a minimization program.

Besides having a flawless administrative record, he is also known as the one who envisioned the creation of a race of vassals whose function was to manage the dominion, during their long absence. It might also be the reason why he has the strongest connection to them, amongst the Universal Administrators.

Thanks! ;D

Hope you also enjoy the rest! :)

Zephiriadne

Zephiriadne, second-in-command of the Universal Administrators and the chief of the peacekeepers. He was the first to come out of his vessel, along with his twin brother, Bathariadne.

His aptitude is well above that of other Universal Administrators, especially in the field of architecture, and he is loved by everyone in the dominion. Possessing a calm and soothing aura, his personality is the counterpart to his brother's spontaneous and energetic demeanor.

He is also known as the one who designed the dominion's capital city, among other things.

Sporda

Sporda, co-progenitor of the dominion's "planet-dwellers." Alongside Bathariadne, he is the one who created the very first planet-dwelling species in the dominion. He was the third to come out of his vessel, just after Bathariadne and Zephiriadne.

Sporda, started things small. First, creating microscopic organisms that wiggled across tiny puddles, he eventually added layer upon layer of diversity until the lands, the seas, and even the skies, were filled with his handiwork. The portion of his creations who he gifted with sentience acknowledged him as the co-progenitor of their lush, paradisaical worlds, and thus held him quite dearly.

His favorite past time was to visit all of his worlds personally, adding special tweaks to them every single time he passed them.

Cheros

Cheros, pioneer of the dominion's intergalactic transportation grid and the chief of expeditions. He was the fourth Universal Administrator to come out of his vessel.

His ability to transport himself, and others, across vast stretches of space is peerless, hence his place in the hierarchy.

Known to have an extremely clear and calculating attitude, he has a softer, more emotional side which he usually leaves back at home to avoid any errors that might occur while on field duty, programming the hyperlink for the expeditionary force's next destination.

Kora

Kora, progenitor of space-based lifeforms. He was the fifth to emerge from his vessel.

He saw Sporda's fondness for planet-dwelling life and decided to create his own brand of life. One that would dwell within the niche presented by the seemingly endless vacuum of space. His creations are often massive in proportion, usually reaching the size of rocky planets, and sometimes even surpassing them. His creations usually travel between the stars in relatively small numbers, however, so as to not overrun the dominion's planet-dwelling people and disturb the balance which he and the other Administrators created.

The Atheim

After finishing their work, the Universal Administrators prepared to set out on an age long journey which will take them back to their place of origin. However, before they could do so, they first had to ensure the safety and stability of their handiwork.

With Bathariadne at the helm, the Administrators created a race which will tend to the great masterpiece during their long absence. And so, they created the beings known to the ancients as the Atheim.

Pictured: The Atheim emblem symbolizing their continuous effort to unite the dominion in mind, body and hope.

The Atheim are a collection of beings delegated by the Universal Administrators to tend to the dominion during their absence. They had knowledge, and power, to equal those of the old myths and legends. Raised from the very cores of the suns, they were brought up into the heavens, given authority to govern over the galaxies and their inhabitants. And thus, bestowed upon them were all the knowledge that they will ever need to guide the others through the way of righteousness.

Pictured: An Atheim Luminary Vessel.

Unlike the Administrators, however, the Atheim were not capable of simultaneously carrying massive burdens and efficiently traveling the vast distances present between the galaxies. And so, they saw it fit to grant the caretakers with vessels that will carry them and their burdens throughout the cosmos. These were soon called by many as the Luminary Vessels.

When all was well, and the Administrators were now content on entrusting their creations to the noble Atheim, they finally set sail and started their long journey home.

     Until...

Omnium

Omnium, a very special substance that is part body, part mind. Usually possessing crystalline qualities, Omnium, also known as Alkahest in some parts of the dominion, are fossilized shards of pre-existent knowledge used by the Administrators themselves in their numerous works of magnificence.

Using the crystals to amplify their processing power, programmers can achieve magnificent feats which they alone cannot achieve, simply by becoming one with the thoughts enshrined within the substance itself. In fact, one of the main reasons why the Administrators, and the Atheim, are particularly skilled in the art is because of their Omnium-composed bodies.

Omnium is very special in that the substance interacts with the environment as if it was a true organism. Crystals that are in close proximity of sentient beings usually flourish, increasing in mass and volume, and adapt to the proximal beings' emotional state. Large, sharp, bulbous, red clumps is the predominant form that the crystal takes whenever it is influenced by beings of benevolence. On the other hand, long, sharp, thin, yellow clumps is it's predominant form whenever it is influenced by beings of malevolence.

The Three Branches of Life

During the Universal Administrators' stint on creation, they formulated three branches of life. These three branches are used to classify the numerous races within the dominion according to their characteristics.

The three branches are: the Crystallines, the Soft Ones and the Energies.
